January Favourites 2014

Hey Peeps,

Happy February! In January I tried out loads of new products and Christmas helped that a lot. This month I have a lot more beauty products and wanted to share my favourites with you. I loved doing monthly favourites in 2013 and look forward to recording and sharing with you the products I love every month!

First I am going to talk about eye products. A couple of months ago I started to wear eyeliner on a regular basis and I really like it. I started out with the MUA eyeliner as I didn't want to spend loads of money on one and then decide I didn't like it. This month I progressed onto the Maybelline Master Precise liquid eyeliner, it was around the £5-6 mark and it is a really good liner. I love how it makes my eyes look bigger and defines them. I think it really competes an eye look and overall I think I have found a new staple! Another eye product I have been loving is one that I would never has seen my self wearing never mind loving enough to put in a monthly favourites and that is the Clinique 6 Colour Surge Eyeshadow Palette. It took me an awful lot of internet researching to actually find what this palette is called because nowhere on the packing does it tell you what it is actually called. Bad designing I think. Anyway this palette is beautifully packaged in a classy silver mirrored case and inside holds 6 gorgeously shimmery shades. They are all very warm and run across a pink/purple/gold theme. Not colours I would have seen myself wearing but I am loving wearing a subtle wash of the champagne pink shades. the pigmentation of these eyeshadows are unbelievable. Also I find there is a perfect amount of shimmer as well! My final eye product is a brush my mum kindly gave to me. I was running low on eyeshadow brushes as I had to bin quite a few, so she gave me the Eco tools Concealer Brush. Now I know what you are thinking, a concealer brush should be used for concealer not eyeshadow. But I find this brush is great for adding a base colour and for blending out cream eyeshadows. I can see myself using this a lot and I may even try some more Eco tools brushes.

Next is a lip product that has been on my lips pretty much everyday in January. I bought the Sexy Mother Pucker gloss stick trio in the boxing day sales and haven't looked back since. My favourite shade is nudist but I love them all. I wont waffle too much as I did a full review last week (click here to read it, you know you want to!). January is a bit depressing at times so I have been concentrating on pampering myself and treating myself to using all my wonder Soap and Glory products I received for Christmas. Most Sundays I love to have a bath in the evening, use my body and bath product and then paint my nails. The Soap and Glory The righteous Butter has been my favourite body butter this month. I have quite a few that I should have finished before opining another but I am so glad I opened this. It is so thick and creamy but moisturises my skin like a dream and sinks in well so I don't have to stand like a statue for 10 minuets ( I know you have all done it).

Finally I have a book that has had pride of place beside my bed. It is called How To Be Adored and is written by Caroline Cox. This book is the kind of book you can dip in and out of and you can read a couple of pages before bed. As the title suggests it is a very girly book about how to be glamorous. Including information of famous glamorous icons from the past, a style guide to suit your figure and advise from Hollywood movie starts. Some may think this is a very vein book. But if you read if with the right frame of mind it can be very uplifting, inspiring and motivating.
