'Goodbye' - Winnie The Pooh

There are people that come into your life and make it so incredibly amazing. But recently I have had to say goodbye to a lot of those amazing people and let me tell you something it has been hard. Chapters in my life are drawing to a close and to be quite honest it is really scary. But I saw this on Pinterest and it just made me realise that I shouldn't be feeling sad, I should be feeling lucky that I had these people in my life. Even if they are leaving and I a saying goodbye; I still knew them and have the memories of how happy they made me and everything they did for me. Also I love this quote as Winnie the pooh was my favourite character as a child. Anyway I just wanted to share this with you as I didn't feel like writing a beauty post. I don't know when I'll next write a post as I have a lot going on at the moment, but hopefully I will find some time to write soon!

Becca's Blogger of the Month : Sarah

I love doing these posts where talk about my favourite bloggers, at the moment I am loving Sarah from Sarah Smiles. She has recently created her own YouTube channel and I love watching her videos on a Saturday morning. They are chatty, original and it feels like she is a friend having a conversation with you! I can't bot mention how AMAZING her super colourful and original her blog design is. Anyway that's enough rambling from me, here is a little interview from Sarah!

What inspired you to start blogging?
I started blogging due to reading other peoples blogs. I have always been massively creative and have always had an outlet. However, since coming to university, I just didn't have anything to do where I could express myself. I didn't join any of my favourite societies, such as dance, which I absolutely love because I was too scared and the thought of meeting new people made me too anxious. Rather than do nothing, I decided to start blogging and now here I am!

How much has you blog changed and developed since you first started?
My blog has changed so much. It really started in August 2013, but I rarely posted and it was all nail art. I relaunched my blog in February of this year and I now write about everything from beauty, nails and fashion to lifestyle, advice and personal issues. I have even branched into YouTube and now make two videos a week!

What is your all time favourite post you have ever written?
My favourite post has to be my 'Dare To Fail' post. It was my first ever Saturday Chatter and it got such a positive response. It was super motivating and everyone really understood and appreciated the message behind it, so it really did go down well. It was from that initial response that made me realise that the Saturday Chatter segment was one that had to stay!

Where would you like to see you and your blog in 5 years time?
4) In five years time I would like to be blogging, vlogging and designing full time. I guess that's the dream most of us have, we all want to be able to live off our hobby. I want my hobby to be my job and I am more determined than ever to try and make it happen! Although it isn't about numbers, its something I can't imagine myself not doing, so it'd be perfect to make a career from it. I do have a plan B though for when I graduate!

What is your number one top tip for blogging, for any bloggers seeking advise or for those bloggers starting out?
My number one tip is to stay true to yourself. Blog about what you want to, don't be something you think people want you to be, just be you. If you are passionate about a topic, that will come through in the content. As long as you love what you are writing about, that's all that matters!

Tanya Burr Lip Gloss Giveaway | Champagne Toast

I know I did a review yesterday about another Tanya Burr lip gloss, but I wanted to do a giveaway with my favourite  lip gloss for summer. I haven't done a giveaway before, I was sent this lip gloss but I already have it and love it so I wanted to give this one away because I think it is great for this time of year.

If you read yesterdays review you will know I think this smells like strawberry laces which makes me really happy and actually kind of makes me want to eat some! Also I do like the packaging and I really appreciate that it is simple because I find simple packaging appeals to more people and is generally just more tasteful. I would describe this as a nude lip gloss, I have to admit in the packaging it does look like a shimmer bomb but on the lips there isn't much shimmer. In fact I find that it catches the light really nicely and adds a little something special to a regular gloss.

This is how I wear this lip gloss. I go for a really light and natural base with contorted cheeks and lots of bronzer to add a really warmth to my skin tone. Then I tend to go for a golden shimmer eye look but nothing too dark. Liquid eye liner really helps to define my eyes and I use lashings of mascara. To finish I apply this lip gloss, in the shade Champagne Toast. In my opinion this is the ideal makeup look for summer.

Now it is your chance to win this amazing Tanya Burr lip gloss. This giveaway will run for two weeks and will finish at midnight on Wednesday 9th July and all you have to do to win is enter using raffle copter below. There are a couple of compulsory ones but after that feel free to enter as much or as little as you like. You are even able to enter some of them every day.  I will send an email out or a tweet to the winner when the giveaway close; if you don't reply within three days I will have to pick another winner. Also if you are 16 or under make sure you have permission from your parents!

Good Luck!

Tanya Burr Lip Gloss in Afternoon Tea Review

A while ago I did a post about three lip glosses from the Tanya Burr collection ( you can read that here!), it was kind of my first impressions of each gloss and a mini review. I was then sent this another gloss from Tanya Burr in the shade Afternoon Tea*. I have to say I think this is one of her most popular lip glosses and have been dying to try this for a long long time.

The packaging is okay, it;s nothing special but I prefer packaging like this that is just simple and I hate garish packaging. What I really like is that it is a sturdy tube and you don't have to worry when you chuck it in your bag running out the door; because it wont break or leak out in your bag. If like me you have a sweet tooth then I would say you have to go out and buy this just because it smells like strawberry laces., yes I said it 'strawberry laces'... yum, yum! One of the best things about this lip gloss is that it is no way at all sticky, I can't stand sticky glosses as they remind me of the horrible glosses that came in teen magazines. Colour-wise, this is a pale salmon nude pink that is so natural looking on my lips. Because it is so natural, it is a 'comfort zone' lip gloss and that is fine by me. I have gotten into brighter lips recently but it is great to have a trusty everyday lip gloss you know will never let you down. This is that lip gloss!

The application of these lip glosses are a bit messy and I find it takes a bit of work to apply it evenly and I have to blend it in a bit. But other than this, I love these lip glosses especially Afternoon Tea!

The Coral Jacket

I am the kind of girl who loves her trusty 'ole' black leather jacket. Lets face it, leather jackets are an absolute staple in most girls wardrobe and mine is no exception. It goes with everything... and when I say everything, I really mean everything. I can wear my black jacket with jeans, pattered shorts, a dress and you can even get away with wearing joggers but that verging slightly on dodgy. Anyway my point is I love my leather jacket and wouldn't be without it.

But this post isn't about my black leather jacket, you have probably guessed by the multiple pictures ( sorry about that, my sister took these and I couldn't decide which I like best; so I included them all!) that I am going to talk about my coral leather jacket. It is a pink coral but nether the less a beautiful colour. There is a story behind this jacket... I bought it for a wedding last summer to match my dress becuase I needed something to put on in case the church was cold and I wasn't sure how reliable the Irish rain would be so I wanted to have a jacket as a back up. I spotted this jacket in the kids section on Matalan and instantly fell in love with it. I haven't been able to wear kids clothes in about three years so I didn't have any hope in it fitting me, but it must have been my lucky day because I found one jacket aged 16 and grabbed it quicker than you could say 'that's mine!'. If i can remember correctly it was around £20 but I don't think you will be able to still find it as I did buy it this time last year.

I wore this jacket to the wedding and it looked great with my dress and did come in handy as it wasn't the warmest of days. Though after the wedding I hung it up in my wardrobe and it didn't come out again that summer. For a wedding I don't mind wearing bright colours as everyone is very dressed up, but every time I looked in the wardrobe and saw this jacket I thought to myself 'It's too bright... I couldn't pull it off''. But this year I ventured into the unknown and discovered that I love wearing this coral jacket. It brightens up a simple outfit and makes it looks like I have really made an effort. I love how together it makes my outfit seem and I can't believe it took me this long to fall in love with it!

This type of outfit has to be my favourite this summer. These loose fitting shorts from Matalan are right up my street and I actually have two other pairs of the same style of shorts in different patterns. Comfortable and very cool for summer; I will be wearing this outfit a lot this summer! Here is what I am wearing...

Jacket - Matalan
Nail Polish - Nails Inc. New York Noir
Bag - Accessories

Are you wearing any colourful jackets at the moment? I have my eye on a pale pink one so any recommendations would be appreciated.

Summer Essentials : Everything Else

This is my final Summer Essentials post and in case you missed the others, I did a post here all about makeup and skincare essentials and then here is my post on nails and haircare essentials. Today I have all the other essentials that didn't really fit into the other categories or a category of their own so I am just calling them 'everything else'.

Fake tan is a must during the summer time as I want to look like I have been abroad and caught a lovely summer glow, but that never happens so the stuff our of the bottle is the way forward. At the moment I am using the Palmer's Cocoa Butter Gradual Tan but I actually did a post all about my tanning routine in a lot more detail so you can read it here if you like. Next is something I don't hear many people talking about in summer essentials posts, but it is a cooling mist. On a really hot day when all you want to do is lay in a bath of ice cold water, a cooling mist is a lifesaver because it it really refreshing and as the bottle suggests it cools you down really well. This one is the Beauty Formula's Gentle To Skin Instant Cooling Mist but there are loads of different ones in places like Boots. This may be one of these TMI products, but oh well... every girl shaves their legs but in the summer it becomes a regular chore (*sigh*). When I go away and know I will be needed to shave my legs it is such a hassle bringing a huge big and bulk bottle of shaving cream that takes up your whole wash bag. Instead this is a small bottle and great for travelling, I would recommend picking up a mini shaving cream as they are so much more convenient.

Picture this... laying outside under the sun, reading your favourite magazine with your summer shades whist listening to the ultimate summer playlist. Yep, it sounds like pure bliss, doesn't it? I don't have much else to say except this scenario reminds me so much of summer and I need all these things during summer. Finally summer isn't complete without smell super fresh and good. This summer I will be wearing Pois De Senteur by Fragonard Parfumeur.

Summer Essentials : Nails and Haircare

Here is my second post of my Summer Essentials. Today I am going to share with you all the pretty polishes I like to wear and what I use to tame the wild thing that I call my hair. During summer, well all year round really, I like to have pretty nails. Generally I like to wear bright colours in summer as they go well with a nice tan and for me summer is a happy time and I'm not going to lie to you; bright nails make me really happy.

Brights are for me but I am too pale (even with a bit of tan from the bottle!) for neon's so these shades are quite dark brights that suit me well. First is a polish from KiKo, which is an Italian brand and I actually bought this when I was on holiday in Italy 2 years ago, in the shade KiKo 284. I can't see an obvious name as it is all in Italian but it's the bright pink shade. This pink isn't too dark but then again isn't a hot pink, just somewhere nicely in the middle. Next is a Barry M Gelly Polish in Passion Fruit, actually I did a review/ WOMN so you can read that here if you missed it. For me I think this polish is a coral with the perfect mix of red, orange and pink. Belgrave Place is a Nails Inc polish, one of my favourite brands, and is a deep blue/purple shade that I think looks great any time of the year. In particular I love to wear this on my toes as it is such a bold colour and goes well with ever pair of summer shoes I own. Now this last polish goes against everything I just said about bright nails in summer,I have been loving Ciates mini polish in Ferris Wheel, though I would describe it is a bright baby blue pastel when it is on the nails. This polish is amazing as it stayed on my nails for four days without a single chip and for me that is impressive as I usually get chips after the second day. Thumbs up from me for staying power and for being a pretty cute summer polish.

Not onto hair. In the summer my hair can go a bit crazy (by a bit I mean a lot!), it turns into this thick frizzy mess and because of the heat my hair feels so dry. I have a couple of things I do to reduce this. After I was my hair I brush it with the Wet Brush which de-tangles my hair so when it is dry it is a lot smoother (review here). Once my hair is dry or very nearly dry I use the Tresemme liquid gold as it adds lots of shine and life to my hair ready for when I want to style it (another review here for you, sorry if I am bombarding you a bit with reviews!). Once I have my hair styled for the day I use the Frizz Ease hairspray when it is hot and I know my hair is likely to frizz out like a mad scientist (you can picture it, can't you?). Because this is such a small bottle it is great for chucking in my bag and taking with me to settle any frizz during the day.

Summer Essentials : Makeup and Skincare

When the seasons change I love to change up my beauty products, especially in the summer. I have three posts in my summer essentials series and they will be out over the next three days. Stay tuned for the other becuase I am super excited for them. Okay onto the products...

Skincare is really important to me and I generally like to spend more money on skincare becuase I think it is worth looking after your skin. Liz Earle for me is by far the best skincare brand out there, I use a lot of their products all year round including the Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic. But in the summer I enjoy using it so much more. It is a toner, so you pop a generous amount onto a cotton pad after you have cleansed and then wipe it all over your face. It is super refreshing and removes any last traces of makeup from your face. I know it says it in the name, but the Clarins One Step Gentle Exfoliation Cleanser is such a gentle exfoliator and doesn't feel harsh on my skin even though it has little particles of scrubs in it. In all honesty it is the smell that makes it feel like a summery product. I am not a fan of orange scented products as they always smell too sickly, however this has orange extracts in it and it is just the perfect hint of orange without being overpowering and sickly. During a hot summers day my makeup tends to slip off so I like using a primer. My mum bought me the Witch Skin Clearing Primer. I have a couple of high end primers that work really well when I need my makeup to last all day on special occassions when I won't be able to do touch ups. This primer isn't the best out there but glides on over my skin, smooths everything out and makes my makeup sit really nicely.

For makeup I like to keep everything really light and simple. Foundations are just too heavy on really hot days so tinted moisturisers are the way forward. Recently I purchased the Jemma Kidd Mineral Skin Nourishing Tint SPF20 which is a medium coverage for a tinted moisturiser, so it smooths everything over my skin and removing any redness but doesn't have the same coverage as a full coverage foundation. This one in particular lasts really well on my skin with a bit of powder. Also it is great to get a tinted moisturiser with an SPF so it can protect your skin from all the harsh sun rays. If you read my post on Sunday, then you probably will have gathered that I am one of those really pale girls that rely on stuff out of a bottle to make us look healthy and glowing, not like we have walked off the set of Twilight. Come summer time I love to bronze, bronze, bronze it up with the Bourjois Delice De Poudre. Slight shimmers run though in the packaging but on the skin you can hardly tell. It can give a subtle natural glow or you can build it up to make you look like you have spent all week in a hot country by the equator, it's only a white lie!

Cream blushes work best for me in the summer and are quick to blend with your fingers if you have to work quickly. Topshop is the winner of the high street when it comes to cream blush in my opinion, Topshop Cream Blush in Afternoon Tea  is the perfect summer pink blush. Using cream blushes in summer is better as your face looks dewier and adds to the overall summer look, also I think they last longer on me anyway. I love the Bourjois Colour Boosts, I have done since they came out. At the moment the shade Peach On The Beach is my new love, it is quite a pale bright pink/ peach and looks beautiful with a golden bronzed look.

Tanning For The Pale Girls

I am going to admit it now, I am a very pale girl. Irish genes run in the family and I was kindly given paper white skin that burns like a tomato in the sun. Not even the kind of sun burn that turns to a tan after a few day. When I was younger I had to choose between paper white skin or tomato skin; I usually just stuck to pale skin. I bet your thinking 'well why didn't you just use fake tan?' In all honesty fake tan scared me when I was younger, 'The Only Way Is Essex' tan put me off the whole idea of tanning because I did not want to look like I had walked out of Willy Wonkas Chocolate Factory as a Umpa Lumpa.

Anyway last summer I started experiment, shall we say, with the Palmer's Cocoa Butter Natural Bronze Gradual Tanning Moisturiser ( that is a mouth-full!). A friend, who also has very pale skin, recommended this to me and I though I would give it a try because her tan looked really natural but you could tell she had a tan. I never really got the grips of how to use it last year but now I have sussed out a tanning routine that works well for me. I hate to say this, but just as a little disclaimer I am not a professional tanner, I am in fact pretty much a newbie. I am sorry in advance if this is not the correct way to tan; it is just a routine that works well for me.

Firstly I start with by exfoliating my body at least a day before I plan to start tanning. At the moment I am using Soap & Glory's Scrub Of Your Life, I really like this because I can use it in the shower and as you rub it onto your body it kind of turns to a foam texture. It has those tiny little sugar grains in that feels like sand, but it isn't in any way harsh on my skin; it is more of a gentle scrub. On the day I want to tan I will use this scrub again in the shower before hand. After I have dried my body of a bit I will use a body butter. I much prefer body butters as I find they are a lot more moisturising, they tend to be more wintry products because of how thick and rich they are, but I really enjoy using the Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter. Once that has sunk in, which thankfully isn't long because I really don't like the feeling of it just 'sitting' on top on my skin, I will then take my hand mit and start to massage the Palmer's Cocoa Butter Natural Bronze Gradual Tanning Moisturiser all over my legs and arms. I didn't want to show you my tanning mit as quite frankly it's not the prettiest of things to look at. This tanning moisturiser comes out looking like a body lotion, as in it is a white bob standard colour. It sinks in really well and I usually wait a couple of minuets before getting dressed or doing too much because I don't want to risk getting it anywhere. While I am tanned I like to moisturise every day because my skin can feel a little dry, especially around my elbows, knees and thighs.

Because it is a gradual tan, I usually do this for two or three days straight to get the tan I want. Even though it is a gradual tan, after the first application you can tell you have tanned. What I love most is how natural the tan looks, even after several applications when you have built up the colour a bit stronger. So for pale girls this is great as you have control over how dark you want your tan to be and no matter how dark you go it will look so natural and sun kissed.

Do you have any other tanning product recommendations for pale girls? I hope you enjoyed the second the second post in It's Summer week on my blog.

Day-to-Night Makeup : Summer Edition

I wrote this as a guest post over on Katie's blog ( you can see it here!) and I was so proud of it I wanted to share it with you. All this week I will posting summer themed posts on Miss Becca Beauty to get us all in the mood for sun, tans and all the fun things that come with this season. I am going to be calling it Its Summer Week on my blog.

Summer evening are beautiful, not only that but a lot tends to happen during the evening in summer because it is cooler: BBQ's, garden parties, evening walks and much much more. I remember last year I was doing so much in the evening and usually it required me to look presentable. Obviously because it is summer things tend to happen to our makeup during the day, it might slip off because it's hot, if you sweat a bit (as lovely as that sounds...) you makeup will come off and if you are a fellow hay-fever suffer then you will know watery eyes + itchy eyes = all makeup removed around you eyes. So by the time it gets to early evening and you realise you have to be out the door looking presentable, you only have about 5 minuets do this! Here are the 5 products I use, to freshen up my day makeup ( I already have foundation, concealer, mascara and all that jazz on!) in the summer when I am in that situation:

Bronzer is an absolute lifesaver, especially for us very pale girls out there (hands up if your with me on this one!). My bronzer of choice at the moment is the Bourjois Delice de Poudre. Add this to your cheekbones to help define them, your temples, down your nose and basically anywhere you want to look really glowy and sun-kissed. I then go in with some blush, cream blushes work best for me in the summer and are quick to blend with your fingers if you have to work quickly. Topshop is the winner of the high street when it comes to cream blush in my opinion, this one if the cream blush in Afternoon Tea. This is when those odd single eye shadows come in handy, whether you are just at home or have had to take these products with you to get ready there, single eye shadows work well to add a wash of colour to your lid. I have a L'Oreal Chrome Shine in Brown Lame which looks like a really shimmery brown in the pot bot on the lids it has that golden goddess look to it. The pigmentation of these are beautiful and they blend really quickly and easily. To finish the eyes I like to take an eye pencil and apply it along the outer corner of my upper lash line. Usually I go for the Soap and Glory Smoulder and Kohl pencils in either black or brown because I find they are the quickest to apply because they glide on so smoothly. Sometimes if I'm feeling fancy I will even blend it out a bit so I have a mini smokey eye going on. Finally to complete the summers evening look I apply a pink lipstick to brighten up my face. Topshop Brighton Rock Lipstick ( I have a review here if you fancy a read!) is the perfect bright summers pink that is great for any occasion.

I hope this has got you in the mood for summer and maybe you can now think of some products you could use to update your summer day makeup tonight. I am in no way saying you need to go out and buy these particular products, but hopefully this have given you some ideas of how you can use hte products you alrady have lying around in your makeup collection!

Topshop Brighton Rock Lipstick Review

When I got into makeup I loved experimenting with different bases, blush and especially eye shadow combinations. But I never really got into lipstick much; I didn’t go anywhere near bold lipstick and wouldn’t dream of putting it on in the morning for an everyday look.  Now I like wearing lip crayons because the colour can be applied to a sheer finish and I didn’t mind wearing nude and natural pink lipsticks. When I went shopping for my birthday my best friend got me a voucher for Topshop and I couldn’t resist buying one of their lipsticks. I was browsing through the nudes and lighter pinks but nothing really caught my fancy. Then I saw Brighton Rock and as soon as I swathed it I thought ‘you are coming home with me’.

Like all Topshop products I love the packaging, black and white dots or in this case stripes. I have done a swatch for you in the picture above, it looks quite berry-ish in the photo but on my lips it is a bold medium pink with no shimmer but it isn’t matte. It is very bold, for me, but I can still get away with wearing this at the weekend. The formula is a little drying so I like to apply a lip balm before I put this on and then to soften the colour a bit I like to just blend it in and dab it a bit with my fingers. Alternatively I can build up the colour so it is a really strong lip but I like the finish when it is a bit more subtle.  I would say that the colour its self lasts for around 2-3 hours and then it leaves a stain which I find looks really nice.

Overall I really like this lipstick and I definitely want to get a nude Topshop lipstick that I can wear on more a day-to-day basis. If you have any recommendations I would love to hear them!

YouTubers I'm Addicted To...

It seems as though everyone and their mum is watching YouTube at the moment. In the past 2-3 years YouTube and YouTuber’s have grown and especially British YouTuber’s have become known across the world. Anna from ViviannaDoesMakeup recently did a post on YouTuber’s she is addicted to watching and it got me thinking. I love all ‘big’ (I hate using this word but I didn’t know what other word I could use) British such as Zoella, SprinkleofGlitter, Tanya Burr, Pointless Blog, Jim Chapman and many many more. When I first got into YouTube these were the only people I watched and I pretty much watched them religiously. But since then I have discovered loads of YouTube channels that I am ‘addicted’ to and I tend to prefer their videos because their channels are smaller and I find they tend to be easier to connect with and if you send them a tweet you are more likely to get a reply and you can have a convocation with them. Anyway here are some of the YouTube channels I am addicted to:

ViviannaDoesMakeup: Anna is such a genuine person and she has a heck of a lot of knowledge on every beauty and skincare related. She has an amazing friendship with fellow blogger and best friend 'Lily Pebbles'. When Anna talks on the camera is feels like she is in the room having a 'good ole' chat with you and i just love her relaxed style of videos.

Lily Pebbles: Lily is like Anna's other half, they are always doing things together and you often see them together in vlogs. Lily does a wide range of videos such as beauty, fashion, vlogs, hauls and even some home and lifestyle videos as well. Lily is really honest about things and as I often find I relate to a lot of the beauty tips and problems she has.

Essie Button: I only started watching Estee’s vlogs are fab and she and Aslan seem like the perfect couple. If you are a regular viewer of Estee’s videos you will know what I am on about, I love ‘DACLIP! Accents can sometimes put me off a video or a YouTube channel because there are some accents that I genuinely cannot listen to. But Estee’s accent is really unusually (I think it might be Canadian) and it is really soothing. Which sounds weird but I love a good voice.

Becca Rose: Becca is just hilarious, she has such a funny personality (in a really nice way!) and I always watch her videos when I am feeling down because her cheery and chatty videos instantly pick me up. Her fashion sense is a-maz-ing, kind of vintage mixed in with the latest trends and a lot of Primark clothes. Every month she does a Primark haul, I don’t normally shop in Primark as I never find anything I like when I am looking around but she has an eye for finding amazing pieces in there.

HannahMaggs: Oh my gosh, I love Hannah and her incredibly cute family. I started watching Hannah’s vlogs towards the end of her pregnancy and I actually went back and re watched all of her old pregnancy vlogs. I love Sunday’s because that is when her vlogs come out and she actually created a hashtag on twitter called #sundaynightwiththemitchelaks. I honestly cannot believe how quickly Mr G has grown and I love watching all the adventures they get up to. Hannah and Stephan (her husband) are the funniest most down to earth people and they have such an amazing relationship.

LovesOfLucy: It was actually Lucy’s blog that I first discovered and then I subscribed to her YouTube channel. I am friends with Lucy on twitter and she has been featured on this blog as one of my bloggers of the month. Lucy’s videos are amazingly edited and she always has really cute edits.

These are just some of the many YouTubers I watch and I would definitely really recommend them to you guys. I have linked up each of their names, so click on the persons name and you can head over, subscribe to their channels and I can assure you that you will fall in love with at least 1, if not all, of these channels!

Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat Review

If you read my blog regularly then you will know I love nail polish and painting my nails. I tend to do my nails every 2 days as painting my nails is really relaxing for me and I use this as my 'down time' before bed. Since getting into my nail polish obsession I have found that waiting for my nails to dry can be a little annoying when you want to get on with things, or in my case go to bed. This top coat is hyped up a lot of blogs and I saw this on eBay for around £5 and nabbed it quickly and I was so happy when I finally got it.

For the first use I could tell that I had fallen in love with it and I knew that I would never find another top coat as good as this. I was astonished at the high shine finish of my nails, I am a glossy girl though and though and never liked matte nails, so for me I was so happy with the amazing finish. The glossy finish also lasts on your nails the whole time you have them on and it doesn't fade like I find some other polishes do. I also couldn't get my head around how fast my nails dried. I applied a layer of this on top of two layers of polish and within about 5 minutes my nails were completely dry: I could run my fingers through my hair, rummage in my bag make a cup of tea. There were no chips or smudges which is amazing! I find that it doesn't make my polish stay on longer than any other top coat I have tried, but I am always changing up my nails nearly every other day so it doesn't really matter to me that much. Also I would say it is slightly annoying that the brush doesn't reach the bottom, I don't know what I am going to do when I get to that stage. If you have any tips they would be much appreciated!

Overall I love that this top coat gives my nails a really glossy finish that looks like gel nails and that it makes my nails dry s quickly. The down side is that it doesn't make my polish last longer than an average top coat but like I mentioned this isn't really a priority for me as I change my nails very regularly. Let me know what you think about the Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat!

If you follow me on Twitter you will know that I have been tweeting a lot about what I have been baking and also sharing some pictures. In case you haven't guessed already I love baking, it is something that I find really relaxing and I love how you can combine different ingredients and different amounts of ingredients and your end result is so delicous. During the Spring Bank holidays I did a lot of baking: I made a Malteser cake, an old fashioned chocolate cake, butterfly fairy cupcakes and these red velvet cupcakes. My family love everything I bake but they said these were the best cupcakes I had ever made and so I wanted to share the recipe with you so you can wow! your friends and family with these stunningly scrummy cupcakes.

Ingredients For The Cupcakes:
120g unsalted butter (lift out of the fridge a few hours before you bake so it can soften)
300g caster sugar
2 large eggs
20g cocoa powder
40ml red food colouring ( you can add more or less depending on how red you want your cakes!)
1 tsp vanilla essence
300g plain flour
240ml buttermilk
1tbsp white wine vinegar
1tsp bicarbonate of soda

Ingredients For The Frosting:
100g unsalted butter (lift out of the fridge a few hours before you bake so it can soften)
600g icing sugar
250 full-fat cream (e.g. Philadelphia)
Red glitter or sprinkle (this is optional, you can decorate your cakes how ever you wish)

The Method:
Preheat the oven to gas mark 5 and prepare you muffin tin with 12 muffin/cupcake cases.
I used an electric free-standing mixer, but you can use an electric whisk and do it by hand as well. Start off by creaming the butter and the sugar together until it is light and fluffy. Break in the eggs one at a time, making sure each egg is full mixed in before you add the next.
Add in the  cocoa powder, vanilla essence and food colouring to the mixture. Mix thoroughly and keep adding red food colouring until you are happy with the colour.
Sift in the flour and salt in two separate batches, alternating with the butter milk and making sure everything is mixed in before you add the next alternation. ( In simpler terms add 150g and a pinch of salt, then add 120ml butter mild, then add the rest of the 150g  flour and a pinch of salt and finally add the last 120ml of buttermilk).
Lastly in a separate bowl mix the vinegar and the bicarbonate of soda together by hand. This is so cool becuase it is basically a mini experiment becuase there is a chemical reaction and it starts to fix up. Then add this into the cake batter.
Spoon the batter into the paper cases, I usually do them so that the cases are two thirds full. I find with this recipe that you can make at least 18-20 decent sized cupcakes. If you only have one muffin tin then I would suggestion you put 12 in the oven and lift them out of the tray 5 minuets after you have lifted them out of the oven. Then run the tin under cold water, wipe it dry and then you can line it with more cases and make some more cupcakes!
Bake the cakes for 18-20 minuets, you can tell they are cooked when the sponge bounces back when you press lightly. Cool the cakes on a wire rack so they cool completely,I leave them to cool for at least 1 hour.

Using an electric whisk or free-standing mixer beat the butter and icing sugar until there are no large lumps and the mixture has a sandy texture. Add in the cream cheese and mix on a slow speed until everything is incorporated. At the end increase the speed to around medium so it turns soft and fluffy.
Now onto my favourite part: the decoration! I add about a table spoon on the frosting to the top of the cake and then smooth it down with the back of a palette knife or even just an ordinary knife. I smooth the frosting down in the circular direction of the cake and I keep turning the cake round in left hand while I smooth it down with the knife in my right hand. I hope this makes sense, it was quite hard to explain.
A cool trick if you don't have any red coloured glitter or sprinkles is to place a cupcake in a food processor and blitz into really fine crumbs. Then sprinkle the red crumbs onto the cakes as decoration.

If you have a go at making these then tweet me a picture so I can see, my twitter is @missbeccabeauty. These are 'show-stopper' cupcakes and will wow anyone you give these to. I think these are really nice cupcakes for summer as they are so moist and light.

got2b 2 Sexy Volumising Hairspray Review

Hairspray is a must for every girl. Whether you use it every single day, just to hold your hair if you do a fancy style or use heat on it or even if you just have a bottle of hairspray handy for when you have a beauty/ fashion emergency ( e.g. spraying it on ladders in tights). My favourite hairspray of the moment is the Schwartzkopt got2b 2 Sexy Volumising Hairspray. My mum picked this up for me on a bit of a whim, I needed and new hairspray and she just bought this for me not really knowing how it would be.

Firstly I would just like to point out how pretty this bottle of hairspray it. I mean come on, it is a bright pink bottle with cute little swirly designs on it, what's not to love? I like displaying this on my dressing table as it looks really good and it is also really quick and easy to grab in a morning. The size of this bottle is huge and you get a lot for your money; I think I paid around £3 for this which is a bargain really. The spray it's self smells really nice and there is no horrible areosole hairspray smell that you get with cheaper hairspray. It smells quite sweet and nice and doesn't affect mine or my mums chest because we both have breathing trouble with sprays. The hold is pretty good and doesn't leave my hair feeling really sticky, I can feel a tiny bit of stickiness at the ends but it's nothing major and for £3 I can live with that.

Overall this is a really good budget hairspray, obviously there are far better hairsprays out there but for £3 you can't go wrong. Plus I think this is one of the best looking hairspray and the bottle is what drew me to it anyway!

5 Product Face : Summer Edition

One of my favourite times of the day is when I am getting ready. I sit down at my new dressing table, open up my draws and can choose what makeup takes my fancy each day. Sometimes, when I don’t have anything else to do, I will spend a good 20 minutes pondering and choosing the items I want to use. Other days I will have 5 minutes and I need to know before I open my draw, exactly what products I am going to use. 5 Product Faces are quite popular and I thought I would do one of these today and make it a summer edition because I tend to change my makeup routine to very minimal in the summer. Recently when I need to quickly grab some products and go; these are the things I have been reaching for.

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation is a new addition to me and one that I have loved using. The shade is almost a match to my skin tone and is really quick and easy to blend, so when I am in a rush this is the foundation I use because it evens out my skin tone with a medium coverage.  In my opinion cream blushers are better in summer as they tend to look dewier and last longer than a powder blush. At the moment my cream blush of choice is the Topshop cream blush in Afternoon tea. This is a bright, medium pink tone that blends beautifully on top of my foundation and it lasts quite a long time.  That is all I use for my face, sometimes if I have any blemishes or dark under eye circles, I will take a tiny bit of foundation on my ring finger and blend it in. I haven’t got time for concealer so I just use my foundation to add extra coverage to those areas that need it. Again I am keeping the eyes really simple by adding Topshop kohl eyeliner along my lash line, I tend to do quite a thick line to add definition as I don’t have anything on else on my eyes. This eyeliner is a really dark brown but glides on smoothly and you can blend it out and smudge it a bit. Then I use the Benefit Bad Gal Lash Mascara and it just a nice general everyday mascara, not much else to say really. I do like the packaging though; I love all Benefit product packaging. Finally I add a swipe of colour onto my lips and at the moment I am using the Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie. For me this is the perfect everyday lip colour and I can apply this so easily without looking in the mirror.

These are the 5 products I use on days when I need a really quick makeup routine and I can open my draws and know exactly what to reach for.

Through My iPhone : May

This month I really enjoyed snapping moments through my iPhone, it's great because now I can take great photos on the go and record memories. I love looking back through my photo album because I can see and remember everything that has happened to me this month. So in May I got up to lots of really nice things: I went to my Aunties, it was my mums birthday, it was also my birthday, I baked way too many delicious treats (and ate them all!) and went to watch my local Race For Life.

My first ice-cream from the ice-cream man in his van of the year // Yummy Pizza Express pizza, my all time favourite pizza is La Reine // I tired Appletiser for the first time, I don't like fizzy drinks this one was 'okay' // I made my own American style pancakes and had them for breakfast. Of course I stacked them up and put golden syrup all over them (my mouth is just watering writing that because they were so yummy!) // I baked a Malteser cake to have after dinner because we had friends coming over. I made this a few years ago and it is a really good cake ( I might do a recipe post if you want?) // Cuddles with the cutest baby // Went along and supported my friends doing the race for life // I made Red Velvet Cupcakes and I think they are the nicest cup cakes I have ever had // I love displaying my birthday cards in my room and around the house // My birthday FOTD and I am mainly wearing my new makeup that I recited as presents // I made myself an old fashioned chocolate cake as this is my favourite chocolate cake and it is so simple and easy to make // Tea and cake!

As you can tell I did a lot of baking during May and I loved eating everything I made. I was thinking of doing some more recipe posts so if that is something you would like to see do let me know!

Birthday Beauty Haul

For my birthday I went shopping with my best friend, Cora (she has a beauty blog so click here to have a sneaky read!) and I bought quite a few beauty bits. Superdrug was having a 3 for 2 offer and I just couldn't resist making a few purchases. Cora gave me a TopShop voucher for my birthday and to be quite honest I am not really a fan of the clothes in top shop, they are all a little too 'out-there' for my liking. But I was thrilled with the voucher because it meant I could make some purchases from their makeup range. For a high street shop, the makeup in TopShop is amazing and for the price the quality is fab.

Firstly I we went into super drug and I was a little bit overwhelmed because there were so many people in there. I don't know if it was the 3 for 2 offer or just because it was a rainy half-term day but it was packed with people. It was actually really hard to get round and look everywhere. The first item I picked up was the Bourjois Colour Boost in Peach on The Beach £7.99. I have two other shades of these and I love them so much. They are really moisturising, pigmented and last a good while on the lips. My other shades are quite bright and bold so I wanted to get a lighter shade and this one is perfect for the summer. These little gems also have SPF 15 in them so I don't have to worry about my lips burning on really hot days. I was really in the lips mood when I went shopping and found myself at the Revlon counter. I don't own much from Revlon but really like the look of their packaging and I have heard great things about their products, especially the lip products. I am very late to jump on this bandwagon, but I picked up the Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie £7.99. I was a little sceptical about these at first as they thought they were just a tinted lip balm but I am so wrong. It has the perfect amount of pigmentation on my lips and I have quite dark pink natural lips and this complements them so well. Berry Smoothie is the 'my lips but better shade' and looks really glossy, I think it might have a slight shimmer running through but it is nothing too overpowering. I was waiting in line with Peach on the beach, berry smoothie and another colour tattoo when I realised I should get another product of the same value to get the most of my money. So I ran out the line, grabbed the Bourjois Délice de Poudre Bronzing Powder £7.99. It was a complete impulse buy but I needed a bronzer as summer has begun and I had heard quite a few bloggers talking about it.

Next we popped into Boots and I was drawn to the Barry M stand. I am not the biggest fan of their original nail polishes but I love their gelly range and at the moment you can buy 2 gelly polishes for £7 so of course I had to pick some up. I bought the Barry M Gelly polishes in Passion Fruit and Damson £3.99 each or 2 for £7 on the deal. These shades are unique in my collection; I have quite a few reds and blue but nothing like these shades. Passion Fruit is almost a neon coral which orange/red undertones and is a beautiful red for this time of year. Damson is a bright bold blue and reminds me very much of Baker St. by nails inc.

Finally we went into TopShop and I picked up two things. Their lipsticks are talked about a lot on YouTube and on Blogs so I really wanted to try one of their lipsticks. I have one but is is more of a lip stain and one of the ones that changes colour depending on your pH (review here). Anyway I picked up a Topshop Lipstick in Brighton Rock £8. It is a muted bright pink and looks gorgeous on my lips. It does look quite bright in the stick but if you blend it out a bit it is a gorgeous. Sticking with a pink theme I picked up their Topshop Cream Blush in Afternoon Tea £6. I don't own any cream blushes nor do I own a 'matte' blush; all my blushes are a mix of shades or quite shimmery. I did have quite a bit of trouble opening the packaging, it was so stiff I had to put Vaseline around the clasp. If you have had this problem will you let me know?

In my books that was a very successful shopping trip! I love everything i purchased and I will being reviews on everything soon.

Sunday 1 June 2014

Hello June 2014

May overall was a good month for me, I had some lows and quite a few highs. At the start of the month I had a lot of exams to prepare for and on the 14th May I did my first proper GCSE style exam. It was actually a Cambridge nationals qualification but they are counted as the same thing. I was so relieved that my exam was over because leading up to it I spend the whole time with my head buried in my revision books and notes. The weekend after my exam I went to stay at my Aunties house and I had a wonderful time. That was the weekend when it actually felt like summer here; I think it was around 21 degrees. As soon as the sun pops out (even just for the day!) everyone in Britain goes crazy and act like they have never seen sun. The men are the worst, you will be driving around town and see men without shirts when it's only like 20 degrees. Anyway at my aunties house we had a lovely girly weekend, we played in the park all afternoon and watched Britain Got Talent snuggled on the sofa. On the Sunday my Auntie and I went shopping in Harrogate. If you are ever around Harrogate I would highly recommend going shopping there, it is all outside and the streets are cobbled and quaint. It has your standard shops but it is such a relaxing place to go shopping. In particular it has a really nice Primark, slightly on the small side, but the layout is fab and there are loads of changing rooms so you don't have to wait as long.

Following that was my mums birthday. I made her a Victorian Sandwich cake with Mary Berry's recipe as she does the best cakes ever. Inside I added strawberry jam, fresh cream and chopped up strawberry's with a dusting of icing sugar. Then half term rolled around and I really enjoyed just spending the week chilling and doing nothing other than baking and blogging- the perfect holiday combination. My birthday was on Thursday and I had a great time with my best friend but I will tell you more about that in my birthday post I am doing on Tuesday.

June is going to be a busy month. In two weeks I will being year 10 as my school does roll-over before the summer holidays and so that will be really strange but I am also really looking forward to being Year 10. This month will be filled with parties, hopefully sunny days and summer BBQs and lots and lots of music rehearsals and the start of summer concert season. The Tour De France is starting in Leeds this year so my family and I are going to and watch. I am not a huge fan of cycling but my dad is and I love bug national events like this!

This month I have some great blog posts planned so keep your eyes peeled for those and like always if you have any post suggestions or anything you would like to seem me do then just let me know in the comments or on twitter.

T&B Talks | Being Kind To Yourself

In this busy world we live in we are always 'go, go, go' and in the midst of all this we try to be good people and we try to kind to everyone but we sometimes forget to be kind to ourselves. There are days when we criticise our selves or beat ourselves up because we didn't finish that assignment within the time frame we gave ourselves or because we ate the extra big slice of cake. Here are some of the ways we can be kinder to ourselves.Too many times in life many of us get caught up in showing love, and being kind to others, that we sometimes forget to show love and to be kind to our own selves. I realise that I am not always 100% kind to myself. There are many days that I am mean, but not to other people,to myself. That then reflects on how I am with other people and how my day goes. But I am trying a lot harder to be happier and more nicer to people so that starts with myself. I have really gotten into the idea of self-love and I'm trying to practice it, so here are some tips that I think will help me and hopefully you to be kinder to yourself as well.

-Becca's Tips

Set achievable goals
When I achieve a goal I have set my self it really lifts my self esteem and confidence, it makes me feel good about what I am doing and as a result I feel happier. But there is no point setting impossible goals you know you will struggle to achieve, because when you don't reach them you will feel really disheartened and will more likely beat yourself up about it.

Reward yourself when you Achieve goals
Rewarding yourself is a really easy way to be kind to yourself and that way you are working hard but also allowing yourself to have a treat. For example when I am studying I will set my self a goal of working solid for 30 mins and when I do that I will reward myself by having a 5-10 minuet tea break or I will allow myself to go on Twitter for 5 minuets.

Let go of things you can't change
You cannot change what has happened in the past, nor can you control what is going to happen in the future. So don't stress yourself out by dwelling on things you can't change. Trust me I know from experience that dwelling on the past/future will just eat you up and really stress you out. So give yourself a break and concentrate on what is happening right now.

Don't compare yourself to other
Everyone is unique and we are all our own person. We can't beat everyone at everything and there are always people who are going to be more talented than us or have shinier skin than us and that is okay. But is is not okay to then start comparing ourselves to these people.

Take it easy
Sometimes we all need a break and the best way to do that is book a date in your dairy, stay in all day and chill. Watch some movies, catch up on your favourite TV show and do all the things you find relaxing!

-Tara's Tips

Invest Time In Yourself
Investing time in yourself is the best investment you will ever do. It will give you time to understand yourself, what you like and need and how you get these things; which will make you happier.

Let small things make you happy
This may not be easy to start doing, but once you start letting small things make you happy, you'll find something every day to make happy which will just make you a happy person all together.

Un-stress the night before
This will make you feel better going to bed and then waking up and if you wake up in a better mood your day will be better all together.

Be your own best-friend
A best friend is someone that helps you and supports you, So why not be your own best friend! You don't have to rely on someone else to make you laugh or smile. When your down...do it yourself!

Take a laugh break
Everything is better when your laughing, you can't be mad when your laughing. Try it. Honestly you'll feel better.
