Hey Peeps,
A few weeks ago I came across this quote on a film called We Bought A Zoo. The father, Benjamin Mee, was giving his son advice on girls when he said "Sometimes all you need is 20 seconds of insane courage and I promise you something great will come of it" What struck me most was how true this is. Quite often I am very afraid to take risks as I like to be in control of everything that is happening around me. But I have realised that because I am afraid to be courageous, I am missing out on so much in life. For example, on Friday I went to Alton Towers with my school as a rewards trip. I had never been on a roller coaster before and was absolutely petrified of what was to come. I only went on 1 'proper' ride (I did go on the water rides as well!) and looking back I wish I would have just been courageous for 20 seconds and gotten on more rides.
Part of it is that as a teenager, you feel as though you are being judged by everyone around you. So I often feel intimidated by society to take risks. In the months leading up to 2014, I want to try my hardest to take those 20 seconds of insane courage whenever I can and I dare you to do the same!!

I have this as my background on my phone. I think it's all too easy to stay doing what your comfortable with and not take any chances, but it's like the other famous saying goes; "Life starts at the end of your comfort zone".
