Benefit Big Easy BB Cream Review

'When it comes to bases, foundations are my comfort zone as I know they will give me enough coverage and last all day. I have always been weary of tinted moisturisers and BB creams as I never thought they would cover my redness and blemishes. Big Easy claims to be bigger and better than any other formula, as it balances moisture while controlling oil- something that a lot of brands get wrong.

It evens out skin tone with a sheer layer of colour while brightening my complexion and easing dullness. The formula is actually really thick and creamy which is strange for a product that has such a sheer and natural finish. It really helps to even out skintone, cover minor imperfections and inject a healthy glow into the skin. I do find I need to wear a heavy duty concealer for under my eyes as this barely covers my bags. Due to the finish being quite powdery on the skin, I prefer to apply this with my fingers and blend it out using my fingers as it is quite a hard formula to work with a brush. Added SPF 30 helps to protect the skin from the sun which is good as we are entering into the Spring and Summer months.

It has a very natural finish so I like to wear this at the weekends or on good skin days.

Six TV Shows To Watch On Netflix

For about two years now I have had Netflix and I am completely hooked. I love that it is only £6 per month and you get access to lots of movies and TV shows, I might even go as far as to say I could probably go without out Sky box subscription because of Netflix. Due to the vast amount of shows just a click away on Netflix, I have watched a lot of TV shows so I thought I would give you a run down of my favourites that I would recommended.

PRETTY LITTLE LIARS// Recently I have been completely binge watching PLL and it has become one of my favourite T shows. The show is about a girl who goes missing and the friends she’s left behind. It’s a mystery/thriller that is easy watching with some light suspense thrown in. Sometimes the plot is unrealistic at times but I love the characters, especially Spencer and Hannah, and the relationships between people. At the moment I am about to watch the season finale of season 4, which is getting pretty tense at the moment, and I just can't wait to see who the 'real' A is.

EDUCATING ESSEX AND YORKSHIRE//I don't know why but I love these documentaries. I find them so fascinating and interesting to see what other high schools are like. Some episodes are quite shocking but also some things don't surprise me. Because I am from Yorkshire, I find the Educating Yorkshire hilarious and so funny at the way people act. It's a good one to watch and also very eye-opening.

GOSSIP GIRL// Last year I was hooked on Gossip Girl. Netflix has all 6 seasons on and I have watched all the seasons twice. Once they revealed who GG was, which was the worst revealing ever, it was then so obvious and I was kicking myself for not realising it sooner. They basically give it away in the first 2 minuets of the very first episode. I love Blair and Chucks relationship throughout all the seasons and part of me wishes I had a Chuck Bass in my life!

THE GOOD WIFE// The Good Wife is an American legal and political drama about a women who works as a lawyer in a huge law firm. Each episode focuses on a different court case and I even went through a phase of wanting to be a lawyer because of this show! The 5th and 6th season and the best in my opinion as the plot takes a huge twist and the 5th season ends on such a big cliff-hanger!

VAMPIRE DIARIES// There are 5 seasons of Vampire Diaries on Netflix and the 6th season is on TV at the moment. It is quite a teen girl choice but the general gist is about 2 vampire brothers who both fall in love with a human girl in high school. There are also some witches, werewolves, hybrids and original vampires thrown into the mix with some surprising plot twists. I do think the earlier seasons are more exciting and interesting than season 5 and 6 but nether the less it is a great show.

THE ORIGINALS// The Originals is a spin off from the Vampire Diaries and is based on the lives of the original vampires. In some ways I think The Originals is better than Vampire Diaries as the characters are more engaging (especially Klaus!) and the plot is so clever. You probably need to watch Vampire Diaries first though to be able to understand what is happening.

What are your favourite shows to watch on Netflix and what are currently binge watching?

Ciate Play Date Review

I don't normally post on a Friday but I thought why not... today's post is all about a new nail polish I have been loving which is the Ciate Play Date.

Play Date is a great bright red nail polish with coral undertones. I find orange or coral toned red polishes easier to wear because my hands are so pale and pillow box reds make me look like a vampire. If you have tried Ciate polishes before you’ll agree that application is super smooth and dries to a high shine finish! In just two coats this has given me a really opaque colour and in all honesty the polish lasted 3-4 days before I had to remove it. I am bored of winter now and am so ready for spring and summer, so my nails have been getting S/S ready and I think this polish would look amazing with a tan when the weather gets a bit warmer.

Have you tried this nail polish? What are your favourite Ciate polishes?

Cohorted Beauty Box February : Un-Boxing

Cohorted is a company that strives to make cult products available to everyone. If you are not familiar with the concept of their website, they basically sell cult high-end beauty products at a more budget friendly price. Every Monday Cohorted release a new selection of beauty products and their price drops as more people join the cohort. Last week Cohorted launched their brand new beauty box. Beauty boxes have been around for a while but I never found one that I liked and wanted to buy, mainly because most beauty boxes have a long term subscription whereas Cohort allows you to buy the box each month without any commitment to a subscription.

I was so excited to buy the box last week and when it launched at 6pm I was ready and waiting at my laptop. I will just say that I was a little disappointed as the website crashed and lots of people were a bit annoyed that the box said it was sold out when it wasn't. After half an hour I eventually managed to get the box in my bag and purchase it, but I will say that it was quite stressful. Having said that it was definitely worth the wait as this box is an amazing bargain for £19.99. When I opened up the box it was so beautifully packaged and has such a luxurious, expensive feel to it. Unfortunately I didn't find the Hourglass palette in my box, but even still this box is worth an astonishing £67.50 and the Dolce & Gabbana product pretty much pays for the box it's self.

I haven't had chance to properly test all the products to review them, as I wanted to get this post up as quickly as possible, but I will tell you about the products and my first impressions. The star of the show for me is the Dolce & Gabbana Clarifying Lotion 150ml (RRP: £20) which is essentially a water based lotion that effectively removes makeup and dead skin. I think it is like the micealer water idea but looks a lot fancier. The smell of this is subtle and a bit floral and leaves my skin feeling so gentle and smooth. Another skincare item is the Korres Milk Proteins Foaming Cleanser 50ml (RRP: £15) and although it is not a full size it is a very generous travel size that I am going to save for when I go on holiday in the summer. This is a soap free cleanser, that is also free of parabens, sulfates and phthalates, and works like any other cleanser by massaging into wet skin and removing with a hot cloth. Korres has been a brand that I have wanted to try for a while and I was thrilled that this box contained two Korres products, the second is the Korres Quercetin and Oak Eye Primer 4ml (RRP: 10). At the moment in my makeup routine I don't use an eye primer but I will be interested to see what difference using a primer makes and this one looks promising as it has a doe foot applicator and the product it's self has a slight pigmentation to help minimise darkness and discolouration on the lid. Onto makeup products, Benefits Bella Bamba Ultra Plush Lipgloss 15ml (£14.50) is included in the box and to be honest I have heard mixed things about these lip glosses. I have tried this and personally I like the formula as it is not sticky or uncomfortable on the lips but there isn't much pigmentation to the gloss. In the tube it is quite a bright red but on the lips it only looks glossy and there isn't any colour pay off. Finally, the product I am most excited to try, is the Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara 3ml (£8.00) which like the name suggests claims to be a really volumising smokey mascara. I am a sucker for mascara and I think mascaras in a beauty box is really good because people are always willing to try new mascaras. I haven't tried much from Bobbie Brown before but am excited to as it seems to be a high quality brand.

Cohorted has really impressed me with this beauty box and there is nothing in this box that I wish wasn't there. As far as I know the March Edition pre-order is sold out but I would recommend getting this box next month and hopefully Cohorted will have sorted out the website so it is easier to purchase. If you have this beauty box I would love to know what you think of it!

Why Do I Blog?

I have blogged for nearly two years now and even when life has been really busy or hectic, I have always found time to sit down and blog. Recently I started thinking about why I blog and why I make time in my busy day to take photos, write posts and edit them. After thinking about it for a while I decided it would be a nice idea to write a post about it.

When I started blogging in 2013 I didn't know what I was doing but I soon found there was an amazing blogging community on Twitter. I started taking part in twitter chats and before I knew it, I had made friends with lots of bloggers. One of the reasons that I love to blog is because I enjoy being a part of this great blogging community where people support each other, offer advise and also praise the work of bloggers. Since blogging I have learnt a lot about my self. Firstly I have discovered that I enjoy taking photos and editing them and also how to be patient and to persevere with things I couldn't do. Every time I publish a new post I look forward reading your comments and hearing what you think about my blog and posts. I choose to blog about the things that I am interested in and only publish posts that I am proud to show people and call my own. Often I am really late to the party with popular posts and talking about the latest products but I enjoy what I write about.

Finally my blog is my own little baby. I take pride in everything I publish and I want to look back in years to come at everything I have worked on and published. If you are a blogger I would love to know in the comments why you blog and if you read blogs regularly it would be interesting to hear your views!

My Kylie Jenner Inspired Lipsticks

RIMMEL KATE MOSS LASTING FINISH LIPSTICK IN #107, RIMMEL KATE MOSS LASTING FINISH MATTE LIPSTICK IN #105 and RIMMEL MOISTURE RENEW LIPSTICK IN NOTTING HILL NUDE.

Kylie Jenner has become an overnight beauty inspiration with so many beauty bloggers going crazy for the 'Kylie Jenner lip'.  I didn't plan this but all of these lipsticks are from Rimmel and I only realised when I started to take the photos. As a side note, I would highly recommend the Rimmel lipsticks as the are great value for money.

RIMMEL KATE MOSS LASTING FINISH LIPSTICK IN #07// The sleek black packaging with Kate's signature in red makes the tube feel a lot classier that it's drugstore price tag. I find this is a lot easier to wear than the matte version and apart from the smell there is nothing I dislike about the product. They apply opaque and their finish is creamy but not at all sticky. For the most part it's just a natural, pinky brown colour that is very wearable and casual.

RIMMEL KATE MOSS LASTING FINISH MATTE LIPSTICK IN #105//  This is the only matte lipstick of the three and definitely the darkest in colour which means it is the hardest for me to wear. It is a mid toned brown lipstick that sits quite comfortably on the lips (for a matte lipstick!) and however leaves a funny taste on my lips that resembles perfume. Having said that, this colour lasts for the longest on my lips because it is a matte finish.

RIMMEL MOISTURE RENEW LIPSTICK IN NOTTING HILL NUDE// Like the name suggests, this is a really moisturising lipstick that feels really comfortable on the lips- almost like a creamy lip balm. I would say this is a The finish of this has a slight shine to is which makes it very easy to wear and personally I like to pair this with a smoky eye look. In addition the pigmentation is great for such a moisturising product and the colour is a true nude shade that has a slight undertone of peach to it that can be seen in some lights.

What are your favourite Kylie Jenner inspired nude lipsticks?

The Valentines Edit

Personally I am not a huge fan of red, even at Valentines, so I prefer to wear pinks as it is more completing on my skin tone. This Valentines I will be spending it with family and then binge watching Pretty Little Liars with my boyfriend Mr Popcorn! Anyway, here is the makeup I would wear for a date or going out with my friends.

NATURAL AND FLUSHED//  To achieve a natural base I have been using my L'Oreal True Match foundation as it is the perfect colour match for me and gives me a great coverage without looking like I have lots of foundation on. The best way to look like your have naturally flushed cheeks is to wear a cream blush as they can be really blended into your cheeks. My favourite cream blush is Topshops cream blush in Afternoon Tea. This looks quite bright in the pot but once blended out it looks nice and natural.

ROSY AND VIOLET// When it comes to eye shadow I am a big fan of bronze smoky eyes but recently I have found a nice alternative that is still neutral but a bit softer and more girly. My Naked 1 palette has got a lot of love over the past few weeks and the three shades I have pairing together are Sin, Toasted and Hustle. I start by applying Toasted, a rose toned taupe, all over my lid then taking a light amount of Hustle, a darker purple shimmer, on a fluffy brush and blending it into the crease of my eye to add definition. Finally I use my finger to apply Sin on the inner half of my eye which brightens up my eyes completely and ties the whole look together. Sometimes I will take Hustle on a small brush underneath my lash line to make the look more dramatic for an evening.

SOFT AND CURLED// On a regular basis I will wear black liquid liner but MACs eyeliner in brown is a softer alternative for complementing a rosy eye makeup look. It also avoids there being any really harsh lines of black on your face from the liquid liner. Sometimes I will do a really precise thin line but I like to wear this best smudged out on my upper lash line. My latest mascara love is the new Benefit Roller Lash, I did a first impressions post here the other day and I would urge you to and buy this months ELLE as this is the free gift and it is only £4! This mascara is very lengthening and can be worn naturally with one coat or dramatically with two coats.

PINK LIPS AND NAILS// If I had to pick between red lipstick and pink it would be pink all the way. I find it so much more comfortable to wear and I never feel like 'me' when wearing a red lipstick. My perfect pink nude at the moment is the L'Oreal Color Riche in Julianne's Nude. It is a pink toned nude that is very flattering for my pale skin tone as well as being moisturising and comfortable to wear. As for my nails I have had Nails Inc. Sloane Street on them for ages and I think it a great girly pink colour without verging on 'barbie' nails. Like all Nails Inc. polishes the formula is great and lasts for 3-4 days on my nails.

What are your plan for Valentines day? Will you be dressing up or staying in like me?

The Playist : February

After the wonderful feedback from last months playlist, I was so excited to share with you again the music has made it to my February playlist. I listened to my January playlist on repeated all month and if you would like to have a listen then you can just click here.

COOLKIDS BY ECHOSMITH// I have this song stuck in my head at the moment as I write this and I can imagine it will be in my head all month!
TAKE ME TO CHURCH BY HOIZER// I love a bit of American soul/church music and this just has that sound to it. This is the kind of song I like to listen to on full blast in my room and sing along to - I like to imagine I have a Beyoncé's voice!
UP BY OLLY MURS AND DEMI LOVATO// I love a bit of Olly Murs and Demi Lovato as when I was younger I loved their music. Put them together, and it reminds me of old school Disney!
DEAR FUTURE HUSBAND BY MEGHAN TRAINOR// Recently I have become obsessed with Meghan and her music. It has a 60s feel to it and the bass lines to all her tracks are so funky and catchy.
BEST DAY OF MY LIFE BY AMERICAN AUTHORS// Last year this was on the radio every morning driving to school. It gave me a boost of motivation every day ( or most days!) and made me optimistic about the day ahead. Whenever I'm feeling a bit down about the day ahead or worried about anything then this song gives a boost to have a good day.
THE KIDS AREN'T ALRIGHT BY FALL OUT BOY// I've never been a Fall Out Boy fan before as I have never thought much of their music. However this song has changed my mind about them, it has a pop-punk feel to it.
CHEERLEADER BY OMI// - I am a sucker for chart music that has "real" instruments in the them (sorry I'm biased!), the trumpet opening hooked me in straight always and I love the R&B vibe that the song has- it makes you want to sway along the song! Also the Trumpet solo in the middle is really worth a listen to.
WHAT I LIKE ABOUT YOU BY 5 SECONDS OF SUMMER// - Boy bands are my guilty pleasure and I love that they are not your average pretty boy group. This song represents their punk-pop sound and is something I can imagine an arena full of girls singing back to them. I know I enjoy singing it in the shower!

What songs are on your playlist this month? Have you listened to any of these songs in my playlist? If you want to listen to all the songs in my February playlist you can click here.

Benefit Roller Lash First Impressions

So Benefit has launched a brand new Mascara, that is bound to be as big as the They're Real Mascara, and Elle magazine is giving us the chance to try it a month before it's launch date. I picked this up at the end of last week and having been trying it out for a few days so I wanted to let you know what my first impressions are of this mascara are.

This mascara has been designed especially for those who have straight and stubborn lashes, small eyes or maybe just lashes that fall short. The idea is that when you are doing your makeup routine you can skip the eyelash curl - hence the name. This mascara ticks all the boxes for me because my eyelashes are thick but they just don't curl very well. I absolutely adore the theme Benefit went for, as well as the technology of this little gem. The packaging of this is so cute, like all of the Benefit products, and I just love the whole concept of it being like a hair roller for your lashes. Roller Lash has little teeny tiny hooks on the wand that curls every lash and adds volume. As you can see the plastic brush has a slight curl and because of the wand it lengthens, curls and volumes my lashes. As for its staying power it lasts pretty well, holds the curl for most of the day and you don't end up with panda eyes at the end of the day.

So far I have bought three of these mascaras and, who knows, I may even get another! Have you picked this up yet? What do you think of this new Benefit launch?

January Favourites 2015

Monthly favourites are osme of the most that I look forward to writing most, therefore I have decided to carry on doing them during 2015. This month I have discovered all new things so I am so excited to share them with you!

URBAN DECAY NAKED PALETTE// So I am incredibly late to the table with this one (like a few years late!) as everyone and their mum raves about this. It is fast becoming my everyday choice for eye shadow and I find every shade is so wearable. The formula of these shadows are really buttery and pigmented which also means they last all day on the eyes. I know have my eyes on the Naked 2 and 3!
L'OREAL TRUE MATCH FOUNDATION// After having trouble with foundation not looking right on my skin, I bought this hoping that it would solve the problem. I am so glad I did. I wear the shade N1 which is a perfect colour match for me (hence the name!) and it wears well all day. The finish isn't matte or dewy, I would say it is more of a satin finish and has a light to medium coverage.
L'OREAL SUPERLINER// I wear liner everyday, whether it be pencil, shadow or liquid. I do go through faces of switching between the three but the one I reach for most is liquid liner. At the moment this is my favourite one and I usually wear a very thin line of this close to the lashes with a wash of eye shadow from my Naked palette.
ESSIE SAND TROPEZ// Sand Tropez really is the perfect nude nail colour because it has a creamy sandy beige undertone to it that also has a drop of yellow. The wide brush makes application so much easier and quicker as well as allowing the polish to go on without looking streaky. Sometimes nudes can be too white, yellow, green or orange and because I have a fair completion it can be hard to find one that suits my skin tone. This Essie polish complements my skin tone and I can see this becoming a staple in my collection all year round as I have already worn it so much. I can easily wear this to school as it is really discrete yet looks put together and it is an overall nice polish.
TAYLOR SWIFT 1989// I have been a big Taylor Swift fan for years and every time she releases a new album I always get really excited. Some of my favourite songs of hers are her old country classics but I was so happy to hear that her new album has a pop beat to it without being too mainstream. I even bought an old-fashioned CD because I love this album so much... the digital copy on my phone just wasn't enough.

What have been your favourites this month?
