A'Kin Shampoo & Conditioner Review

I am loving talking about haircare each week as I have a lot of hair and so I need to use a lot of products for different things. This week I have a shampoo and conditioner from the brand A'Kin. I don't use these every single time I wash my hair, more like once a week. I will talk about the shampoo/condition I use on a daily/every other day basis. The reason why I use these once a week is that these products are super natural and organic and I find when I use them, that they are giving my hair a really deep and thorough clean.

I have the Unscented Very Gentle Shampoo and it is just that, a really gentle sensitive shampoo. I would recommend this particularly to people who have very sensitive scalps but it is a lovely gentle shampoo that anyone can use. Don't be fooled though, it is not a 'simple' product because all the ingredients are organic and natural. I don't suffer with any problems to do with my scalp such as itchiness or dandruff ( touch wood!) but I read that this shampoo helps to get rid of those problems. Like I said I don't have these probes, but if you do then maybe this might be a really good shampoo to consider because it is full to bursting with really good natural ingredients. On me this works like any other shampoo does and it smells really nice and organic.

My favourite of the two would definitely have to be the Macadamia and Wheat Protein Conditioner. It is such a rich and organic conditioner and I like to use it as kind of a treatment for my hair once a week. If you are looking for a shampoo that adds volume then this isn't for you, but I don't mind that it doesn't add volume because I have plenty of hair on my head that naturally adds volume anyway! The conditioner is really moisturising and nourishing. As I have quite dry hair this is an essential for me when judging a conditioner. Again like the shampoo all the products are natural and it has a really organic smell; although I am not quite sure what it smells off...

May Favourites 2014

It's that time of the month again where I share with you my highlight products of the month. Some of these are old loves that I have re-discovered and some are new that have made it into my everyday routine. I have got reviews on most of these products but I have to talk about them again because I have used them so much this month and couldn't not give them another little mention!

I reviewed the Liz Earle Signature Foundation sometime last year and when I was writing about it I had a very mixed view on it. I loved the packaging, and still do, and the colour range. But it is a very matte foundation and when I reviewed it, this was the first matte foundation I had used so the finish was quite strange and new to me. Now I love wearing this matte foundation. My skin can get quite oily and shiny in summer but when I wear this matte foundation I find the shininess isn't as obvious. Usually in summer people prefer dewy, glowing foundation but for me this matte one has overtaken all of my other foundations and I think I have worn it everyday this month.

Another old love that I have rediscovered is the Soap and Glory Thick and Fast mascara. When I started out blogging last year this mascara was the only one I used and was by far my favourite. There was an offer in one of the magazines and this mascara was the freebie inside. I bought so many of the magazines and freebies because I was obsessed with this stuff. I did a full review here, but basically this is a great all round mascara. It gives me really thick lashes and if you apply a couple of coats you can achieve a fairly long look. This month I found this mascara hidden in the back of my collection and brought it out so I could use it again. Throughout May I have been pretty much using this on a daily basis.

The Maybelline Colour Tattoo has become a firm favourite of mine. These are talked a lot about in the blogging world, so I won't waffle on too much. But basically they are a cream eye shadow that you can use on their own or as a base for other eye shadows. Most of the time I will use this on it's own as it is so quick and easy to apply. I basically just apply a bit of the product onto my lids just using my fingers and sometimes I will blend it out with a fluffy brush if it needs it. This will last on your eyes all day and it doesn't even smudge or rub off. I did a full review here if you fancy a read.

I like to look after my skin and I actually quite enjoy doing my skincare routine every morning and night. The latest edition to my evening skincare routine is the Beauty Lab Overnight Repair Beauty Cream. I did a review on it last month and since then my love for it has grown. I use this every night and since using this I feel like my skin is more hydrated and I can definitely see an improvement in my skin. The packaging is really classy and expensive and it looks really good displayed in my bathroom!!

As for my nail polish favourite, this month it isn't a colour is is a top coat: The Seche Vite Top Coat. I have loved painting my nails for about a year now and I do find it really relaxing to wait and let my nails dry. But we live in a super busy 'get-up-and-go' world where sitting still for 20 minuets to let your nails dry is very unrealistic when we have so many other things to do. Anna from ViviannaDoesMakeup raved about this on her blog a lot and when I saw this on eBay for about £5 I bought it. After 5 minuets of applying my nails are dry and it leaves them with a really thick and glossy finish. I use this every time I paint my nails!

High Street Picks | May

I have been shopping a few times this month and I have seen some really pretty things online whilst wishfully scrolling through many shops and admiring all the really cool and summery clothes. This month I have got a bit of a 'thing' for monochrome pieces and I am also loving big, baggy and comfy t-shirts and pairing them with tight skinny jeans. River Island and New Look have really impressed me this month as they have some great stuff in at the moment.

Black waisted cami dress // Floral print split maxi dress // Cream embellishes fringed kimono // 'He loves me, he loves me not' t-shirt // High wasited denim shorts // Tres chic l'amore t-shirt // C'est magnifique t-shirt // Blue daisy print wrap dress // White retro sunglasses // Cream raffia bowler hat.

I am loving monochrome clothing as I find it works well for all occasions and I find it suits my style. I tend to wear clothes that are simpler and all these t-shirts represent that. I mentioned quite a bit last summer about my huge sunglasses obsession. I think I own about 10 pairs or something ridiculous. My excuse is that I have really sensitive and watery eyes due to hay fever so I can spend money on sunglasses because they are for 'medical' purposes! These white ones are super pretty and will go with a lot of outfits, I find that style of glasses suit me but I don't have any white ones. Hat have always scared me but I really want to try stepping out of my fashion comfort zone and try something new. I was thinking I could pair this hat with a black maxi dress or denim shorts and a white shirt or something.

Bank Holiday Tearooms & More

It feels like I have done a 'photo-heavy, out and about' lifestyle post in ages. I remember last summer I did absolute loads and loads as I was out doing and trying lots of new things. But I haven't really gone out to new places or gone of any exciting family days out, so I didn't have the opportunity to do another post like this. I want to start off by saying I hope you all had a lovely bank holiday weekend with your friends and family; it feels like it's been bank holiday after bank holiday... not that I'm complaining! This weekend I spend time with my family, had a heart-warming Sunday dinner with close friends, went on a little outing yesterday and even caught a few glimpses of sunshine that came out to say hello.

These photos are mainly from our little family outing yesterday. We went to a few national trust type places near where I live and enjoyed looking around the beautiful grounds, the building and ruins and inside the many many gift shops and tea rooms. I think I have a thing for tea and tea pots at the moment. Our teapot sadly broke and we have been looking for a new one. However these were quite expensive so I guess I will just have to keep looking. I love days like this where you go off out for the day to a new place not knowing what you are going to find. It's even better when you come away from that new place having had a lovely day and with a new made mental note to return because it is such a great place.

I am off school this week so I am going to catch up on lots of blogging and get my blog organised ready for the summer as I don't know how busy the last term of school is going to be. I also want to mention that since getting my iPhone I am able to take really good quality pictures on the go as they iPhone camera is really good. It is also more convenient than lugging round my big girl camera everywhere I go, then I am also not worried about losing it or breaking it. Look out for lots more lifestyle posts!

Ruby Hammer Recommends White Tip | WOMN #4

Unless you have been living under a rock these past few months, you will know that white nails are a huge trend this summer. I love how white nails look on other people, I think they are so simple, versatile for day and night and they look good with any outfit.  As I have pale skin I really didn't know how it would turn out or if I would end up loving white nails or hating them. I didn't want to go out and buy a really good white polish until I had tested out the trend and seen if I liked it. I found an old manicure kit from Ruby Hammer Recommends and inside was this white polish. It is actually intended to be used for creating white tips, but I don't follow beauty rules so I went ahead and used it as a polish (I know, I am such a rebel!!)

The consistency of this polish is really thick, almost verging on being gloopy, and the brush is really wide with lots of bristles so this makes it quite hard to apply really accurately. I have no idea how you could use this as a white tip because the brush it too big for accurate precision. The first coat was very patchy and uneven, but the white became really opaque when I applied a second coat and it evened out.  I used my Seche Vite top coat to finish it off and give it a nice glossy finish. Although this isn't the best white nail polish ever, I love how white nails look on me and the fresh simple finish it gives. I can't believe I didn't try a white polish before now, but I can see myself wearing this a lot. I will probably end up buying a better quality white nail polish, so if you have any suggestions I would love to hear them!

This WOMN is not really about the polish, it's more about the trend because I can safely say I am now converted to white nails! I hope you are all having a lovely bank holiday weekend and enjoying the day off.

Becca's Blogger of The Month | Joelle

I mainly read beauty blogs as that is what I am most interested in but I love a good lifestyle blog and February Girl was the first lifestyle blog I started to read. One day as I was scrolling through my twitter feed I came across a tweet talking about a post called 'How To Be A Legit Blogger'. At the time I was just starting out and had no idea what a legit blogger was. I went to read Joelle's post and instantly loved her style of writing. The way she wrote it was hilarious and it was obvious she was talking the 'Michael' out of legit bloggers. If you haven't read it, I would click here and have a little read!

What inspired you to start blogging?
My trip to China in 2009 really inspired me. I was 15 and had the most amazing time, so decided to set up a blog to tell the world about my Asian Adventure!

How much has your blog changed and devolved since you first started?
The blog that I write now ‘FebruaryGirl’ evolves every month. It’s not that I am not happy with it; I just like to develop it to the best of my ability. I am really into experimenting with HTML, music and blog header design these days, so I am constantly challenging myself to create new visuals for my blog.

What is your all-time favourite post you have ever written?
I have two! Firstly, my ‘SuperbBloggers’ post, which I wrote on the spot at around 4am one morning. I don’t know where it even came from, but I just felt that I needed to say something to encourage the blogging community. It was really well-received and was my first post to reach over 10,000 page views, which was pretty surreal.
My other favourite post has to be ‘How To Be A Legit Blogger’. Again, I wrote in off the top of my head and decided to try a new comedic writing style. The feedback/comments I am still getting from that post make my day. I think people like that fact that not every part of blogging should be taken so seriously and you can still have fun with your readers through your words.

Where would you like to see you and your blog in 5 years’ time and why?
In 5 years’ time, I would have been a blogger for 10 years!! I just hope that I carry on writing about fashion and lifestyle and enjoy it as much as I do know. I will be a working Geologist then, but hopefully I will still have time to blog part-time and continue to be part of this amazing community.

What is your number 1 top tip for blogging, for any bloggers seeking advice or for those bloggers starting out?
My top tip: Be patient! No blogger gets thousands of followers in their first few months/years of blogging, so just relax and don’t give in to pressure.
I feel that lots of new bloggers want all the page views/followers/magazine features too quickly. They are focusing on the perks before actually focusing on how to make their blog readable and likeable. Once you are happy with your blog content, readers will come in time!!

Thank you so much Joelle for taking part in my Blogger of The Month! If you haven't already, go over and give February Girl a read and maybe even a follow if you love her blog as much as I do!

The Wet Brush Review

So as I said last Saturday I am going to be reviewing my favourite hair care products every week until I have talked about everything I want to. I am mainly doing this because I love using products on my hair but I don't really talk about them much on my blog. I had heard many great things about this brush and was so excited when I it came through my front door.

You can use this brush on wet and dry hair and it quickly and painlessly de-tangles hair. I have really thick hair that can be unruly; especially in the mornings when I have bad bed hair. This brush gets rid of any tangles, knots or kinks in my hair. It brushes through my madness of curls/waves and leaves my hair feeling really silky and smooth. The bristles are softer than a regular hair brush and this is why it makes brushing your hair so easy, quick and it never tugs or pulls on your hair so you know it isn't damaging your hair. Because I have really thick hair it doesn't feel like the brush is getting through all my hair and brushing it properly, but it is because the result is good. The brush it's self is very thin and compact which means it is great for travelling and chucking in your handbag/school bag. I don't know about you but some other brushes, especially the paddle brushes, are huge and take up way too much space in a bag! A range of colour are available; I think there is pink, purple, blue, white, brown and a few others.

This brush is affordable and definitely something to pick up if you need a new hairbrush or have thick hair like me and find that your hairbrush just isn't doing a good enough job.

Topshop Jewel Lip Tint

I am back with another beauty review! There is a lot of hype around Topshop makeup and this is the only makeup item I own from them, I have a couple of nail polishes which I love. My best friend bought this for me as a gift and it is so amazing.

In the photo this lip tint looks super bright and orange but let me explain how it works. This lipstick reacts with the natural pH level and colour pigmentation in your lips and this causes the lipstick to change colour. On me it changes to a really wearable pink that is brighter than your average nude pink but I am still able to wear it on a daily basis so it isn't that bright and intense. The idea of this is really clever and makes it a bit different to other lip products out there. The finish is quite shiny and glossy but you can blot it to make it more of a matte finish. It is quite sheer but you can build up the pigmentation and even though it is moisturising the colour lasts on my lips really well. Like all Topshop products the packaging is adorable and this lipstick is no exception. It can get a little bit dirty seen as it is in white packaging but nothing that a baby wipe can't fix!

I can see myself wearing this a lot this summer as it a great lipstick just to throw on as it adds a really natural pink tone to your lips. I am going to try some more from Topshop so if you have any recommendations and stand out products then please let me know in the comments!

Weekend Beauty Bag #1

I thought I would start something new on my blog called Weekend Beauty Bag and I will basically show you the products I take with me when I am going away for the weekend. I quite often go down to London to see family and friends or I go to my Aunties at the weekend. I had a lovely time with my Auntie and my cousins playing out in the lovely sun and a very productive day of shopping as I had no summer clothes in my wardrobe. I don't tend to bring much makeup with me when I go away for the night and as I was only at my Aunties this weekend it is quite a simple collection of items.

Firstly I have the Liz Earle signature foundation, which if you read my review on it, you will know it isn't one of my favourite foundations but it is a bit darker than my other foundations and I have caught the sun a bit recently and I find it makes me look nice and tanned at the moment and is a great shade for summer. I also have discovered an old love, when I was tidying and re-organising my makeup collection, the Soap and Glory Thick and Fast mascara. Every Soap and Glory product I have tried has been really nice and this is no exception. Last year this was a freebie in a magazine and I think I bought like 4 magazines or something crazy. It does exactly what it says on the tin and makes my lashes really thick with only a few coats. It is harder to get my lashes to look really long but I don't really mind so much. I did a review last year on this mascara so click here to read more, but overall this is a really nice everyday mascara that ticks all the boxes for me. Another eye product is this Topshop Kohl pencil, In the Christmas sales I bought a set of 5 Soap and Glory pencil eye liners and I have pretty much been reaching for those all the time and I kind of forgot about my Topshop pencil. So I brought this away with me just because I wanted to use it more. I find this is a really good eye pencil and I don't really have anything else to say about this. My last eye product that I took away with me was the Bobbie Brown Nude On Nude Palette which is a great matte palette and can be used to create a range of looks. There is a white highlighter, three brown shades and a really dark matte brown that is supposed to be used as a liner but is also nice blended out in the crease for a more dramatic look. Because the sun was out I wanted a really healthy glowing blusher and the Sleek Rose Gold blush ticks all the boxes for me when it is really sunny. The pigmentation of this is incredible and for only £5 you really can't go wrong. Finally I have a new lip product and I do have a thing for lip crayons. This one is from Seventeen, not a brand I have tried much from but what is really annoying is that there are no shade names so I can't tell you what it is called. I have quite dark natural lips and for me this is the perfect nude. It applys quite sheer but I don't really mind as it is a really comfortable nude to wear with anything.

FUSE Gelnamel Review

Hello girls,

Today I have another review for you but instead of it being a beauty review, I have a review of some really cool nail technology. I was kindly gifted this by a PR company so thought I would share with you what I think. I love gel nails and I love the lasting power of the them, the glossy effect and the whole package of 'a gel nail'. In all honestly I had high hopes for this product.

The first product I tried from this brand was the FUSE Starter Kit which consists of a fuse polish in Vamp, a light, a nail file/buffer, a stick, cleanser and lit free pads. I instantly fell in love with the whole concept of this little nail gadget and I had really high hopes. However I found the formula was super thick which confused me a bit as it said to apply a thin coat of colour and it really stressed that it had to be a thin layer other wise it wouldn't work. I also wasn't a huge fan of the colour as it was so dark and vampy, which isn't my style anyway, and I don't wear darks in summer. Having said that the lamp works like magic and as soon as you take it out of the lamp after 30 seconds it is completely dry. As in so dry you can do jobs, get ready or rummage through your handbag and it doesn't smudge because it is completely dry.

In the photo above I am wearing the shade Na-No Way which is a really summery bright pink. I much prefer this to Vamp and I found the formula wasn't as thick so it was easier to apply a thin layer. Again it dried instantly after being under the lamp and I was so pleased I didn't have to wait around for ages to let my nails dry. The first time I used this to do my nails, with the shade Vamp, I found my nails were not at all glossy and were quite dull/matte looking. But when I used the shade Na-No Way it was a lot glossier and looked more like a gel finish. I think it probably just depends on the shade you get as to how glossy it will be.

On the second/third day the polish started to peel of my nails, basically the whole coat I put on my nail came off in one piece. It was really weird and this has never happened before with any of my other polishes. I think this is really good for if you need to go out and need your nails done but don't have time for them to dry as you need to get ready and leave. Or even if you were going out for the whole day and wanted your nails done then this would be good. But if you want them to last for a good three to four days then this isn't the one for you. They do have some really nice shades in the range which are worth a try and the whole concept is great!

Tresemme Liquid Gold

I don't talk about haircare on my blog much, but recently I have discovered loads of new hair products that I want to review for you. So for the next few weeks I will be talking about a different hair product each week until I get through the long list sat beside me of everything I want to talk about.

Today I wanted to tell you about a little gold gem that has changed how my hair looks. I have dry hair, especially on the day I have just washed my hair. So after I have blow dried my hair I squirt a bit of this into my hands and warm it up in my palms by rubbing them together. I then work it into my hair mainly focusing on the ends of my hair as that is where my hair is the driest. I also find it smooths down my hair and gets rid of those flyaway frizzes. The best thing about this product is that it actually looks like gold! I mean who wouldn't want to use a product on their hair that looks like gold. I often find it makes my hair feel really smooth and glossy. I only use this after I wash my hair as I find if I use it on day old hair then it can look a little over glossy (if you know what I mean!) and I cant really pull of the greasy look. But after I wash my hair it adds the perfect amount of shine to my hair.

In general I really like Tresemme products as they are affordable and really good quality. I have a few products from them and you never know some more of them may end up on my 'list'!

What Has Happened?

I am really nervous about this post being live on the Internet but i got some of my friends to check it for me and they said I should go ahead and post this as I wasn't sure whether to or not. At the end of the day I want to be honest on my blog and I don't want to pretend that everything is okay when clearly the blogging community is struggling at the moment. I hate writing negative posts but I feel really confused and upset at the moment. When I started reading blogs I admired the blogging community, it seemed like a really welcoming place where everyone supported each other. Then when I started blogging I felt like I became a part of the community and so many people were kind to me and offered me advise and answered silly question like 'how to publish a post' (okay maybe they weren't that stupid but you get the gist!). Now when I take part in twitter chats I always chat to new bloggers and try to offer them a friendly tweet and advise.

The other day I was scrolling through my twitter feed when I saw loads of tweets about Guru Gossip, I had no idea what was going on. I soon realised that someone or a group of people had created a website where they post awful, nasty things about other bloggers and what they write on their blog. This whole thing kicked off and there were huge debates floating left, right and centre through my feed. I honestly didn't know what to think of the whole situation. I wanted to believe that it wasn't true because the blogging community had been so nice to me but then one of my blogging friends ( I am not going to name names) said that nasty things were published about her content on this website and she was really upset by it. That's when I realised that this is a really serious matter that is effecting peoples innocence in blogging. I know people wanted to rant and talk about it on twitter but I feel like this was giving GG the exposure they wanted and I didn't know about GG until I saw tweets in my feed. Its complicated because I know people want to talk about it as it is so wrong what GG is doing but is giving GG more publicity good? I really dont know any more.

Here are some anonymous comments made by people about how they feel:

'It;s so sad, it's something that I really don't want to be involved in right now, it's not a really positive place right now, its a very negative and ****** place right now'

'It used to be such a nice thing to be a part of, now it's like everyone's turning on each other... it's people like that that are making it a bad place. To be honest even outside of blogging Guru Gossip is just a joke.'

I am scared that this whole blogging community is going to fall apart because quite frankly I have seen some really hurt and angry people talking on twitter and I don't know what is going to happen. Blogging is an amazing passion. I take pride in my blog and I find it so upsetting that others would go and insult what someone else is doing. I don't know what has happened to the blogging community recently, it has become such a negative place and so many people are getting hurt becuase of this website.

These are just my personal views and I am not trying to upset anyone or cause any arguments. I would love to hear what you think on this matter. I was really nervous about publishing this but I think it is something that is really upsetting at the moment and I hope the blogging community will turn a corner and go back to the welcoming and supporting group it used to be.

What's On My iPhone

I am back today with the third part of my little 'What's In My...' series that I am doing with some of my other blogging friends. In case you missed them, here are my previous posts: What's In My Bag and What's In My Makeup Bag. This week I am going to be showing you what's on my iPhone. In March I got an iPhone which I am super grateful for as it was an early birthday present. I choose the iPhone 5c in Pink!

YouTube- I think YouTube is a staple on every bloggers phone. It offers so much inspiration and i am forever refreshing my subscription box in case a new video comes in // Twitter has become my new favourite app on my phone, I love scrolling down my feed and chatting to my friends also I love to check what celebrities are up to (sad? I know...) // Pinterest - I don't hear many people taking about it, as I think Tumblr is talked about more, but I honestly love pinterest. I could spend hours scrolling through pins and re-pinning every cute, vintage blogging and beauty inspired pin.

Blogger App - I am not a huge fan of this app as I find it is super simple, I know simple is good but this just seems like level 1 basic. Anyway sometimes I like to use this if I am on the go and want to create some bullet point notes on a post I am planning on writing or something like that // Wattpad- I would seriously recommend Wattpad, it is an amazing way to read loads of great teenage, fantasy, fan fiction and romance books written by ordinary people with a passion for writing. If you want to get started reading something on Wattpad I would recommend the Taylor Family Series by Heather Roberts. These books are amazing, I think there are currently 5 in the series at the moment. // Bloglovin - I read my bloglovin feed religiously on my phone at the moment. I really didn't bloglovin at first as I didn't really understand it and the android app wasn't great on my old phone. But now i check my bloglovin everyday and I love how simple, clean and chic the layout of it is. It makes reading blog posts really enjoyable! Also a little plug here: If you are not already why not follow me on bloglovin!
Pixlr Editor - I recently discovered pixlr editor for editing blog photos on my laptop and then I saw they had an app, so I downloaded it and I have to say it has so many cool and interesting features and is such an easy way to edit your photos really nicely // Amazon Instant Video - I currently have a subscription to Amazon instant video,  previously love film and I am watching the OC at the moment which follows 4 high school students who live in California and what happens to them. It is basically just an easy to watch girly TV show. // Doodle Snap - I was reading Wonder Forest one day and I saw that Dana has created a new app that allows you to add little doodles to your photos, it is super cool and I really like using it.

Spotify I am literally obsessed with Spotify at the moment, i have it on my phone and laptop and am always listening to something. Although at the moment I am kind of listening to Hairspray the musical on repeat and the songs are so good! // iTube I don't use this as much as Spotify, but I really like this for organising my music and creating playlists // In my music at the moment I am really enjoying listening to Taylor Swift's RED album.

TopShop Wizz Kidd | WOMN #3

So I am back today with another WOMN (what's on my nails!). I mentioned this nail polish in my spring nail polishes post I did a few weeks ago and I have been wearing this a fair bit so far this spring. I find it is a super easy colour to wear because it is quite pink but it isn't neon or too 'barbie like' so you can get away with wearing it with anything. I would describe this as a bright baby pink but not too natural! The formula of this is great, like all TopShop polishes, and lasts for a good three to four days. Today I am just wearing this on its own but I do like to wear this sometimes with an accent glitter nail. You can get away with just one coat of this but I wanted a more opaque finish so I went for 2 coats and then finished it off with the Seche Vite top coat.

On and On Bronze Colour Tattoo

Okay so I have a confession to make... I bought this colour tattoo before Christmas as I had heard so many great things about it and it was mainly EssieButtons influence that swayed me to buying it when I was in boots. The first time I wore it I absolutely hated it. It made my eyes looks really dark and messy and to be quite honest it made me look like a little kid who had been messing around with her mums eye-shadow. I think the main problem was I hadn't really worn shimmery eye shadow before and had always been a very loyal matte girl. So seeing that much shimmer on my eyes freaked me out. I put it away in my draw and completely forgot about it.

At the moment I am having my bedroom re-done (I may do a room tour, not sure yet...) and was sorting though my make-up when i found this colour tattoo. Since I have been wearing shimmery eye shadow more regularly than I used to, I thought I would give it another go. Let me tell you now I have never been more wring about something. To say I went from hating it when I first tried now to loving it; its just really weird.

I wear this now nearly everyday as I find it is really flattering, looks natural but also adds a bit of colour and definition. I absolutely love the formula of this, it is really thick and creamy but applies really evenly and I then blend it out into my crease using a Real Techniques shadow brush. Usually I will use a liner of some kind because otherwise my eyes look a bit unfinished. So as I mentioned in my what's in my makeup bag post, I wear this cream eye shadow with either the Soap and Glory Smoulder and Kohl eye pencil or the Maybelline master precise liquid eye liner if I want to look more put together. I also just want to mention that this stuff stays put on my eyelids all day, so I don't have to worry about it falling off or smudging down by my lower lash line.

Basically I take back everything I thought about the on and on bronze colour tattoo the first time I tried it because I absolutely love it now! I think my taste in makeup has changed a lot since I started blogging and even these past 5/6ish months since Christmas it has changed!

Tanya Burr Lip Glosses

From left to right: Just Peachy, Vampire Kiss and Champagne Toast

Hello again,

When Tanya Burr released her own collection of lip glosses and nail polishes it was absolutely huge and for ages they were constantly raved about. I know I am a little late to the bandwagon here but I was sent some of her lip glosses* to try and really wanted to do a review.

The packaging of these glosses are really good, they look amazing and they are super practical for chucking in your handbag for top ups through out the day. Its very simple packaging and I love how her signature is clearly imprinted on the front. I love it when products have signatures on them, I think it makes them seem more personal (I don't know if that's just me being weird!). The formula is really juicy, glossy and moisturising but in no way sticky. I cant stand sticky lip glosses as they remind me of the cheap plastic glosses you used to get in kids magazines (*cringe). If you get the chance go up to the Tanya Burr stand in Superdrug and smell these lip glosses. They honestly smell like yummy sweeties you used to eat when you were a kid; so good!!

Now onto the three shades that I have. I hate that I have to sat something negative about these lip glosses because I really do like them, but Just Peachy really doesn't suit me. I don't know if it is because I have pale skin but when I first applied it it completely washed me out. At the time I had slightly chapped lips and it made them look all dry and horrible. It made me really sad because Just Peachy looks the nicest in its packaging. So sorry Just Peachy but I wont be wearing you again any time soon. Enough negativity. I absolutely love the other two shades. Vampire Kiss looks really scary in the packaging and is not normally what I would go for, but oh-my-goodness it is so pigmented and glossy. It is a very 'true red' colour and looks amazing with really simple eye and face make-up and then this bold lip. When I want to wear a red lip but don't want it to look like I am over dressed for the day time; I apply a little bit onto my lips and then blend it out with my fingers. So I still get this gorgeous red lip but just less vibrant! Finally my favourite lip gloss is Champagne Toast. My first impressions of this wasn't great, I didn't think much of it and wasn't expecting to love it. It is quite sheer but perfect for when you just want really natural glossy lips. I wear this lip gloss the most out of the three and honestly I love how natural it looks on my lips.

So there you have it, my thoughts on the Tanya Burr lip glosses. I would really like to try some more from this range and I have my eyes on Afternoon Tea, Chic and Aurora. Have you tried any of these lip glosses? What are you favourite from the range?

What's In My Makeup Bag...

Hello again,
So you may have noticed that I my blog has had a makeover in the last 24 hours. I really like how it looks now but I would really appreciate it if you would leave a comment with your honest thoughts on my blog and give me some feedback or advise on what I could do to improve! Today I have the second post in this little mini series I am doing with some of my blogging friends. I think I have already done a what's in my bag post, but that was when I was first starting out and the make-up that I keep in my everyday bag has changed massively since then. I am going to start by showing you what I have in my make-up bag at the moment and then I am going to tell you three things I am currently obsessed wiht and have been using everyday without question.

What's in my bag...
Maybelline Dream Satin Foundation // Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer // Benefit Boi-ing Corneal // Laura Geller Balance and Bronze Powder // Laura Geller Blush in Mauve Mocha Latte // Benefit They're Mascara // Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze // Soap and Glory Smoulder and Kohl Eye liner in Black // Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick in Fuchsia Ristic // Burt Bees Lip balm // Real Techniques Shadow Brush // Real Techniques Blush Brush // Real Techniques Buffing Brush.

So my top three products in my bag at the moment are actually an eye combo that I have been wearing practically everyday. First of all I apply a thin to medium layer of my Colour Tattoo in on and on bronze and then using the Real Techniques Shadow Brush I blend that really well and out into the crease. Sometimes I will apply a bit more of the  cream eye shadow onto the brush and blend that into my crease as well, to add more definition. After I apply the Soap and Glory Smoulder and Kohl liner along my top lash line and blend it out a bit. I find this look is really pretty for everyday wear and it is so quick and easy in the mornings when I am in a rush!

All the the other amazing girls taking part!

T&B Talks | What Media Teaches Us

Hello beautiful people,

It is the first Sunday of the month and you know what that means; another round of T&B Talks. This month we are doing our own separate posts. Lets face it, our lives in the 21st century revolve around media: social media, magazines, the news and what's on our precious screens we call TVs. Media is very powerful. It can inform us, teach us and persuade us. Today I am going to be talking about a TV program that has done just that. I may have mentioned in previous 'facts about me' type posts that I am a huge fan of Glee. I am currently re watching all the episodes again and as I am watching them for the second or third time, I am learning and discovered new things from the show. For those of you who don't know Glee is basically a t show set in a High School in Ohio and follows the story of an enthusiastic show choir instructor who leads his glee club to nationals. Along the way there are love triangles, strong friendships, breakups, pregnancies,  and the popular quarterback who struggles to find himself and falls in love with an over-dramatic Barbara Streisand 'wonna-be'.

The new directions was a mixed bag and they were very accepting of each other: a leading firecracker who was Broadway obsessed, a popular jock, the avian couple, the girl who got pregnant in high school, the cheerleaders and the gay couple. For me this symbolises that no matter where you come from, what you do or who you love everyone can be friends and can all get on. This ties in with the next one: It's okay to be you. One of the story lines followed a gay guy who was struggling with bullying and harassment from other people. He accepted who he was but nobody else did. The glee club supported him and helped him get through. By the end of the series he is happily living in New York and doesn't think about those hard high school days.
The quarterback is your typical high school jock. He is the most popular guy in school and is dating the caption of the cheer leading squad. Him and his friends bully people, chuck them in dumpsters and throw slushies at them. But one day he realises he doesn't like who he has become and what he is doing is wrong. So he changes his ways. He doesn't follow the crowd any more just to be cool or to not get bullied, instead he joins the glee club and helps them out when they are in need of a lead male.

Glee taught me many things but the main messages that shines through is to never give up on your dream and to follow them no matter what obstacles lie in front of it or what sacrifice you have to make along the way. My favourite episode is when Rachel and Finn are going to get married but instead of going to the church Finn takes Rachel to the train station so she can go to New York instead where she has a place at NYADA. He did this because Rachel was giving up her dream to marry Finn, but he wont let her do that so he gives her a push in the right direction so she can achieve all she desires.

Check out Tara's post, she talked about what the TV show Skins has taught her and the messages that it sends.

Through My iPhone | April

Hello girls,

So if you read my April favourites you will know that I recently got an iPhone as an early birthday present and since then I have been spanning away and documenting what I get up to. I have to admit the quality of the camera is really good for a phone (much better than my previous phone) and now I can easily take good pictures on the go without lugging around my big camera. I have seen a few of these kind of monthly posts where you show pictures or Instagram’s of what you have got up to this month. I obviously don’t have Instagram but I thought it would be a nice way to share with you my adventures that month!

My sister and I are in the car ready to head down to Norfolk for the weekend // On the way we stopped at a beautiful old fashioned farm house that sold fresh eggs and home made ice-cream // On the beach pier I played many games hoping to win a teddy bear, but I didn't have much luck // My cousin and I taking a sneaky selfie on the beach!! // The beach was empty when we went down one morning and I managed to take a really nice photo of the landscape // When you go to the beach you have to draw a love heart and take a picture, right? I am currently using this photo as my phones wallpaper // I didn't make these sandcastles but I found them and thought they were super cute // This is the beach bag we used to carry all out things down there // Coming home we stopped off at a little quaint village to have afternoon tea in a little cafe, here is the view I could see // I love April because all the blossom trees are in full bloom and they look so pretty, one day I want to buy a house with blossom trees out side or at least can be seen from my bedroom window // One morning in the holidays I went to a cafe with my mum for breakfast and I ordered scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and cream cheese on toasted bagels, it was delicious // Sticking with a food theme I made a nutella cheesecake for the Easter weekend and it was the nicest cheesecake I have ever had. I was also my most popular post this month so if you haven't seen it already you can click here!

Hello May 2014!

Hello My Lovelies

Yay, it's May! May is one of the best months in my opinion. First we have a bank holiday at the start of the month and is great barbecue we can have a day off near the beginning of term. Then it is my mums birthday in the middle of the month and shortly after on the 29th May its my birthday. The great thing about when my birthday is, is that is is always during the holidays (expect for one year when I was at school for my birthday, but we don't talk about that because it really upset me!). This year I am thinking of going shopping at the Trafford centre in Manchester as I really want to go shopping this year and there are so many shops there. Then to finish the month off we have another bank holiday weekend! Bank holiday weekends are great because you can spend the weekend with your family and it is nice to have three days where you can do things as a family.
