Blogging Lingo : Part 1

Hey Peeps,

When I first started blogging I spent most of my time reading blog tutorials, tips and tricks as I was completely clueless to start with. I have learnt a lot since that Sunday I sat down in April to start my blog and now I want to share with you some of the things i have learnt since then and along the way. I am in no way what so ever saying i know everything and am some sort of professional. I just really want to share with you some of the knowledge i have and hopefully these posts will help you. I am not creating a series or anything; but roughly once a month I will post a tutorial or something about blogging, HTML and everything else!

I don't know about you but when i first started out it seemed that there was an entirely new language for bloggers and I was forever googling words to see what they meant. I soon realised that there was in fact real 'blogging lingo' and it took me a long time to get to grips with it. I wanted to create a little word bank or mini dictionary of words and phrases to help people staring out, or who just don't have a clue what bloggers are saying half the time! Here is part 1 with words beginning with A-H.

Above The Fold : This was first used by newspaper publishers as it refers to the top half of the front page. In blogging above the fold is relating to the part of you blog that people see immediately as they open your blog, which is usually your header.

Affiliates: This is when a blogger partners with a brand and they blog or mention their products and can earn money or free products (this depends on the brand you work with).

Blog: A blog is a website with regular posts that are usually written in an online journal style.

Blog Button: It is an image that is like a HTML business card that is used to expose you blog. You can do this by taking part in button swaps which is where you display their blog, if they display yours. It is a great way to gain exposure and traffic.

Blogging Platform: This is the site you use to write, design and publish you blog on. The most popular ones are blogger (which I use) and WordPress.

Blogroll: A list of other blog and bloggers who you really enjoy reading and read regularly

CAPTCHA: This is a word verification you fill out before publishing your comment to stop spammers. However this can be really frustrating for normal people wanting to reply as they may get it wrong a few times and give up trying to publish their comment. To remove it simply do this: Settings > Posts & Comments > Show Word Verification > No

Custom Domain: This is a website URL that you buy to shorten your URL and to get rid of the .blogspot.com

CSS: Is short for cascading style sheets and is used for programming your web design.  It allows you create the formatting and the layout of your blog/website.

Disclosure: This is a sentence or a short paragraph stating your morals and that you have bought products yourself or that all reviews are 100% honest.

GFC: Google Friends Connect is a way of following blogs.

Giveaways: Bloggers usually host a give away when they reach a milestone e.g. 500 followers, 1 year anniversary.

Guest Post: This is a post you write for another blogger to go on their blog. This is a great way to build a relationship with other bloggers, get to know new people and to share your writings with a new audience.

Haul: This is a collection of things bloggers have bought over a period of time or on one specific shopping trip.

HTML: Is short for Hypertext Markup Language, this is what your blog pages are made of and you can use it to make your pages look anyway you want them to.

There you have it ladies and gentlemen, part 1 of my blogging lingo. If you know anyone other blogging lingo between A-H.

Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick Review

 Hey Peeps,

I feel like I am on a roll at the moment with beauty posts! Today I want to talk about a product you have probably heard of before and let me tell you now they are absolutely amazing: The Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Sticks. On boxing day my mum and I ventured out into the shops wanting to get some really good deals in boots (who didn't!). Anyway I had my eye on these before Christmas but resisted the urge to buy them as I knew they would be going down to half price on boxing day. There were quite a few in stock in my local Boots so I picked up this trio for about £8 (I cant remember exactly!) I was super excited to try them as I had heard so many great things about them.

They look like a lip gloss, feel like a lip balm and with lots of layers can have the payoff colour of a lipstick. They are not at all sticky but feel super glossy and moisturising. The scent is a really strong sugary and sweet vanilla that is so delicious I just want to eat it right off my lips. I absolutely love the packaging as I think it looks really classy and expensive. Also it is super sturdy so you can chuck it in you handbag or makeup bag and you don't have to worry about it breaking. Due to the fact it is like a crayon it is very easy to apply without a mirror and you can twist up the product so sharpening it and finding a bin doesn't become an issue.

At the moment I own three shades: Nudist, Fuchsia Ristic and Plum Jam. Nudist is a gorgeous brown toned nude with little bits of gold shimmer running through. I would describe it as being (you know what's coming...!) "My lips but better". This is the shade i wear most and as you can see I have already used a fair bit. I am really looking forward to wearing Fuchsia Ristic more in the spring and summer as it is a really vibrant pink/coral. This is the boldest and brightest colour of the whole collection. In the stick it looks like a bright watermelon orange colour but on my lips it just looks like a really nice coral orange. Plum Jam is the most like a lipstick, colour wise, as you can really build up the intensity by adding layers. I usually wear this when I want to wear a dark lip but don't feel confident enough to apply a really intense lipstick. The colour is the same it is just a lot softer. The colour is super pretty for winter and reminds me of the Kate Moss 107 just with a glossy finish.

I love these lip products so much and will defiantly be trying more shades and repurchasing these if i run out. What do you think of the highlight on key words/phrases. I quite like it but let me know if you think it is tacky, too distracting or not needed.

January Pick Me Ups

Hey Peeps,

At the start of January everyone is still really pumped about being off school/work, with Christmas food still there for you to eat and setting resolutions we (think we) are going to stick to. It is a really positive and motivational time as you set goals to get your life in order for the coming year. But soon everyone goes back to reality and wakes up from the Christmas/New Year's bubble. Most of us have kept going the first two weeks with out resolutions, but as the third and fourth weeks approach we are lacking motivation and are craving the chocolate we gave up on the 1st of January. I have some really "simple yet effective" ways to perk your selves up and pick up your spirits so you can get back on track (unless of course this includes some of the things you gave up as a resolution in which case I am very sorry!)
First of all yourself a nice hot bath, put in your favourite bubbles with relaxing music in the background. Soak in there for a good while letting the water calm you down. Use you favourite bath products, mine are the Soap and Glory Scrub of your life and the  Philosophy body butter. Skincare is very important and as good as our everyday routine may be it  is nice to use special and different products every once in a while. I got given this face mask from Superdrug and is the perfect thing for a little pick me up! Now this is a step I normally forget, but is really beneficial and I love how it feels. We use our hands and feet everyday and sometimes they get very dry and tired. So treat you little fingers and toes to some relaxation: take your favourite foot cream ( I use the Soap and Glory Heel Genius) and follow the instructions which usually tell you to apply this to your feet and they put on some clean cotton socks which helps to keep your feet moisturised.
Now onto the fun part... A Manicure! You can use any polish you want but I like to go for a classic French manicure. I got a kit for my birthday so would use that. I find painting my nails gives me the excuse to sit on my bum and do absolutely nothing. while you are waiting for your nails to dry why not read a book. I like to read girly classics on nights like this, I don't know why I just find them to be so kind and princess-like!
There you have it, all the things I use to give myself a little pick me up during January. I also may sneak in there a bit of chocolate and a cup of tea! What do you do to perk yourself up when you are feeling down in January?

Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid | Review

Hey Peeps,

I don't know about you but foundation is an absolute essential in my makeup routine. Not because I want to hide behind it, but I find the right foundation (not one that looks really cakey) evens out your skin perfectly and gives you an even base. In my opinion the Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid foundation does that for me.

This foundation is light to medium coverage and the consistently is so light and creamy. I use one pump on the back of my hand and then use a real techniques buffing brush to blend in the foundation. For a while I use my fingers which worked fine but I find using the buffing brush given me a completely smooth even finish. If you are looking for a full coverage foundation then you will not like this, as even though it is build able, it is more of a natural coverage. The way I would describe this foundation is that it make my skin look flawless but you can still "see" my skin. So it doesn't look like I have poured foundation all over my face. As a result this is great for school because I can get away with wearing foundation because it is so natural.

It claims to be "'ULTRA-BLENDABLE, COMFORTABLE FEELING TEXTURE. AIR-BRUSHED, PORELESS FINISH. IDEAL FOR NORMAL SKIN" I agree with this fully. I have normal skin. I never get oily patches or dry patches, so this suits me well. I really don't know if this foundation would work on oily, dry or combination skin... sorry. I like that the finish is not really dewy or really matte, it just has a very subtle glow that makes me look healthy. I always look shiny if I wear a dewy foundation.

However, its not all hunky dory. I am a little disappointed with the packaging. It looks great as soon as you buy it but after the first use it just gets covered in foundation, especially in the lid.

Overall this foundation is affordable at £7.99, light to medium coverage and is really easy to apply leaving me with a natural flawless face. I have already repurchased this foundation as I didn't want to run out and be left not able to use it! Have you tried this foundation? Do you have any drugstore foundation recommendations?

Becca's Blogger of the Month : Angela

Hey Peeps,

Here is a new feature I have created on my blog for 2014. I have been reading many fantastic blogs for a long time now and I wanted to share with you my favourite bloggers who I look up to and who have inspired me in many different ways to start blogging. Todays blogger of the month is the wonderful Angela from A Typical English Home. Her blog is full to bursting with cool tips, tutorials, organisations advise and free resources. I used pretty much all of her blogging tutorials when I was first starting out, especially with blog design, and they helped me so much! So here we go, my first interview, with Angela.

What inspired you to start blogging?

I had been following several popular home and organization blogs for a while, such as  Young House Love  and I Heart Organizing. But, while they are great blogs and some of the ideas are wonderful, I didn't really relate to a lot of the stuff. There is a big difference between the size of your average American house and a typical English home, and this disparity means a whole different set of challenges! Eventually, I decided to start my own blog because I felt tiny English houses were a bit underrepresented in the Blogosphere.

How much has your blog changed and evolved since you first started?

Although my original intention was for A Typical English Home to be a mostly organisational blog, it hasn't really stayed that way. I still share a lot of posts on topics such as maintaining a clean home and free organisation printables, but I have expanded the range of things I cover. One of the biggest surprises to me has been writing regular posts on blogging tips, since 18 months ago I had never blogged in my life! But as I learnt more, I found I was getting a lot of emails from readers asking how I created certain elements on my own blog, so I started covering blogging topics in my posts to cut down on the number of emails I had to keep up with.

What is your all time favourite post you have ever written?

I think my favourite post is probably my first free social media icons post. I created over 144 free buttons, and was very nervous about hitting the "publish" button because I had never shared anything like that before and didn't know how my readers would react. It would have meant a lot of wasted hours if nobody was interested in the icons! Fortunately, the post became very popular and I still get a kick out of it when I visit a blog and see that somebody is using the social media buttons I created.

Where would you like to see you and your blog in 5 years time?

That is a really tough question! Kind of reminds me of being put on the spot in a job interview. :-)

I think the reason I find it hard to answer is because as my interests and daily routines grow and change, so does my blog. I do love sharing free resources though, as I have always been a bit geeky when it comes to messing around with computer programs and graphics. So I would like to see my skills improve and my blog become a more popular destination for people looking for freebies.

What is your number 1 top tip for blogging, for any bloggers seeking advice or for those bloggers starting out?

I think my top tip would be "be flexible". I don't think anybody's blog grows quite in the way they expect it to, so you will probably find that you are taking it in directions you never envisaged. Also, you will need to be flexible when it comes to finding a routine that suits you. Creating blog content always takes up more time than you think it will, and it takes a while to get into a rhythm in regards to writing and publishing posts. This will change as your life does, too. When I started working longer hours I still put pressure on myself to create 4 regular posts every week, and that will really zap your blogging mojo! Now I still have a ton of ideas for posts, but if time constraints mean that those ideas only translate into 2 or 3 weekly posts I am happy with that too. Blogging is meant to be fun!

Well I hope you enjoyed that and took on board some of her advise. I think it is important to be flexible as well, not only with your work but with your self. Blogging isn't fun if

Love Yourself First

Hey Peeps,

Loving yourself can often be seen as being vein and really self absorbed but I think it is important to love yourself. With it being the start of a new year, most people have made new years resolutions about an aspect of themselves they want to change or improve; and I think that is great. But what is not great is feeling bad about yourself or as though you are not good enough and that is why you have created these resolutions. Also don't beat yourself up if you have already failed your new year resolution; you know what it doesn't matter. You are perfect the way you are and breaking you resolution doesn't make you any less fabulous. I made some resolutions this year and so far I have kept to them, but if one day next week or next month or in October I break it; it wont be the end of  the world.

Have you ever looked in the mirror and thought "I look fat today", "My hair is awful" or "My skin is so spotty there is no way I can walk out of the house"? Everyone has done it and I for one am guilty of these things. But I have come to realise that I don't care if I am slightly over weight or if I wear my hair in a bun everyday for school because I cant be bothered to do anything fancy with it. I am not going to go on some crazy diet where I starve myself just to look skinnier or wear "fashionable" clothes that I think actually look disgusting. I am happy with myself just the way I am

What I am trying to get at is that no body is perfect, but we are ourselves and nobody can take that away from us. We should love ourselves because there is only one of us in the whole entire world and we should value ourselves exactly as we are. Before we can start to improve ourselves and make changes in our lives we need to learn to fully love ourselves and be happy in our own mind and body. Then we can look at ourselves and think honestly what we can do to be better and then who knows everything might change!

The Blogger Made Me Buy It!

 Hey Peeps,

*Is she really doing a beauty post?* Yep I sure am, I know I haven't done a proper beauty post in ages. So I am going to try and keep them fun and regular with other posts thrown into the mix to keep it interesting! I saw this tag on Sarah's blog OhhSoGlam and thought it was super cute and girly, plus you know how much I love a good tag :D You should all go and check out her blog and say that I sent you over there. Onto the questions...

Who are your most influential bloggers? Who are the ones you rely on for reviews and swatches?
This is such a tough question to start with... Louise from SprinkleofGlitter is my most influential blogger but for reviews and swatches I rely on Lily from LilyPebbles and Anna from ViviannaDoesMakeup. I love their blog design, their photographs and their posts are always short, snappy and straight to the point which I love. All their reviews are really current and up to date and they usually have a review on a new product before it is even available to buy.

Do you buy a product solely from one review from your favourite blogger, or do you look for more reviews form others?
Usually there will be one post that makes me think WOW about a product if I haven't heard about it before, and then I will follow it up by having a look at other reviews. If I see a product online or in a store that I like then I read at least 3-5 reviews on it too see what the majority of people think!

What is your favourite item you have every bought as a consequence of reading a blog?
Without a doubt I would say the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer, every single blog out there raves about this and I can see why. It is super cheap, has great coverage and is trust worthy staple in my makeup bag. I don't know what I would do without it and I always end up going back to it!

What is your least favourite item you have ever bought as a consequence of blogs?
When the Maybelline colour tattoos came out they really intrigued me and because every blogger was talking about them I thought I would give it a go. But I just don't get it? It looks really cakey and streaky on my eyes, the colour selection is a bit poor and overall it really let me down.

Name 5 products you have bought recently as a result of blog?
Real Techniques Core Collection, Maybelline Dream Satin Foundation, Sleek blush in rose gold, Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in 107 and Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Sticks.

Have you ever given in to a blogging hype? If so, which one?
When I first started blogging I saw reviews left, right and centre on the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation. after weeks of lusting over it I finally gave in and it is one of my favourite foundations!

Have you ever avoided a blogger hype? If so, which one?
I was never really into the who Rimmel Apocalips, if I am honest their pigmentation scared me and everyone kept saying they lasted all day. I didn't think I could pull off such a statement lip.

Is everything you buy based on blogger reviews or are there some items you buy without checking out a review?
Most of the time, like I said, I will read lots of reviews on a product before I buy it as I like to know what I am spending my money on. But I am also very good at impulse buys and if I see something in the shop that is spanking new, with a cute name and gorgeous packaging, it usually ends up in my basket... whoops :D

There you have it my lovelies, I hope you enjoyed this tag and I am not going to tag anyone in particular but I do tag YOU, yep you reading this and thinking how good the questions are. I know you are just itching to confess all the products that being a blogger has made you buy!

Buy My Face || Guest Post by BekyLou

As beauty bloggers, we're always lusting after the next best thing. Ooh, a new primer? Yep I need that. Or how about that shade of nail polish which is almost exactly the same as one I already have? Yep, that's in the online shopping basket too... And I definitely need two 'different' black kohl eyeliners.. Oops. Confirm order has been clicked and money is leaving my account... Oh, but it's okay - think of all the Boots Advantage Points I've just earned! Know the feeling? Been in that situation too many times before? For this guest post I thought I'd give us all a bit of a 2014 new year / fresh start, cold, hard, reality check.

Have you ever sat down and wondered just how much your face actually costs? How much all of your 'daily essential' make up items and tools actually add up to? I know I haven't and with all of the 'high-end' beauty loves that I just 'Have to have' I know for a fact that it's going to total something crazily pricey. Maybe it's time to realise just how much we're spending on these things - after all, do we really need a MAC lipstick three times over in almost the exact same shades? I don't... but I have them. And do we really need the latest Benefit concealer when Collection do one ten times cheaper which is just as amazing? For a new year, and a new car to run, I thought it was time to check the beauty spending and see where all of my money is going. Don't get me wrong, I love every product I own, but how much does it all really cost me? Could I have already bought a MacBook Pro by now if I wasn't so beauty obsessed?!

Primer:
I own two primers at the moment. See what I mean? Who needs two primers at one time?
The first is the Benefit Porefessional Primer (£24.50) which is an amazing primer and definitely does the job it says on the tin. I've been extremely impressed with this and use it for special occasions or on days when I feel that my pores are extra visible. And with a new gift set just out for the same price as the single tube, who could refuse?
Next, I have the Clinique Superprimer Face Primer (£20) which I tend to use on a daily basis and have only just recently purchased. After having a sample which lasted me two weeks, I knew I just HAD to get it.

Concealer:
I've been quite good recently and I only have one concealer. They tend to last me a long time as I only really use them on any small blemishes and under my eyes but I still feel the need to buy a high-end concealer. At the moment I have MAC Studio Finish Concealer (£15) and am loving it. It does a great job of hiding red areas and covers blemishes really well. It also has a  great lasting time, I barely have to reapply a couple of hours later, which is great for when I'm at work.

Foundation:
I'm ashamed to say that at the moment I have three, yes three, foundations. I use each for a different mood or situation and love each and every one of them.
1 - Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation (£4.49). Even being high street, this has been one of my favourites ever since it was relaunched last year. It's such a good coverage and even though it looks thick at first, it's quite light and airy when applied which I love. I recommend this foundation to everybody and use this on days generally when I'm not doing anything too special.
2 - Benefit Stay Flawless Oxygen WOW Foundation (£25.50). I have been obsessed with this foundation for over a year now. Ever since I first tried it at the counter I fell in love and have purchased and repurchased ever since. I love how this foundation is so light and yet gives an amazing coverage.
3 - Last but by no means least, the last foundation I currently own is the NARS Sheerglow Foundation (£30.50). I have to admit this was a very spur-of-the-moment purchase for me. It's something I should've put more thought into at that price, but after reading so many reviews previously; it just had to be done. I love it so far, but keep an eye out on my blog for a proper review soon.

Powders:
I currently have two setting powders, one that I use everyday to set my foundation and the other to reduce shine.
The first is Rimmel Stay Matte Powder (£3.99) I've used this for years and have probably repurchased this a million times. It's my go-to and will never fail to impress me.
The second is again, a brand new product. It's the Benefit Porfessional Agent Zero Shine Powder (£23.50) which I bought after hearing so much hype from my friend Ashton (a Benebabe), I snapped it up as soon as it was released and I'm amid writing a review for it, so again, keep an eye on the blog.

Blush:
I was so lucky to receive this NARS Blush in Orgasm (£21.50) for Christmas - I've been lusting after it for ages and now after using it, am even more in love. This is the perfect shade to subtly blend into my cheeks for a lovely natural pinkness, it's definitely worth the money and has overtaken my favourite from the second blush that I own and switch between which is...
...Benefit's Rockateur baked blush (£23.50) This blush is a gorgeous nude pink, which has a hint of bronzer in too, I use this on days where I want a more warm glow to my cheeks than a pinky one. As this is a baked blush however, it lasts a lot longer and has less fall out, which is great!

Highlighter:
I use Benefit's High Beam (£19.50) as a highlighter. I love that it comes in liquid form instead of as a powder as I find that it's much easier to blend this way. I'd highly recommend this as you also don't need to use a lot, meaning that it is definitely worth the money for how much you get!

Bronzer:
Benefit's Hoola Bronzer (£23.50) is my favourite bronzer and the only one that I use. It gives myself a perfect sun-kissed look and is matte so has none of that horrible shimmer - winner in my eyes straight away! I swear by this bronzer and even though it's only recently come into my life, I'd recommend it to every one of you.

Eyes:
I have recently purchased the Naked3 Palette by Urban decay.. However as it is still in the post, the only two shadows I use at the moment are 'Woodwinked' and 'Shroom' by MAC (£10 each). They make such a nice bronzed smokey eye when used together and complete my go-to eye look.
Along with my Soap And Glory SuperCat Eyliner Pen (£6) which is the easiest and most pigmented liner I have every tried. As it is a felt-tip pen, this liner is so simple to swipe across the lid for a perfect line.
I also use the Rimmel Exaggerat Eye Definer Retractable Pen in Black (£3.99) for my water line, i've used this product for years and also swear by this. It's perfect for just adding that extra little bit of smokiness to a look.

Lips:
Last but not least are lips. For daily use I always use my Lush Bubblegum lipscrub (£5.50) followed by my Lychee Lip Balm from The Body Shop (£3). I then use the Rimmel Moisutre Renew Universal Lip Liner (£3.99). I love all of these products but to me, they're just that. The prep before the main event.
I own 4 MAC lipsticks which I switch between on  a daily basis and 2 Topshop ones. I count all of these as daily staples, because I wear all of them over the space of the week, depending on what mood I'm in.
MAC lipsticks (£15 each) : Fanfare
                                          Hot Gossip
                                          Please Me
                                          Nicki Minaj Viva Glam
Topshop Lipsticks (£8 each) : Beguiled
                                              Innocent
I then complete the look with my beloved LipCote (£3.69) to set my lip colour.

Blimey, I never knew how much I actually used on a daily basis.. It's crazy to think that this (to many other beauty bloggers) is a small collection. Don't get me wrong, this isn't my full collection, but it is pretty damn close. Is anyone else scared to see what my face is worth after all of that? No, just me? Let's get adding then!

My face is worth: £347.66

I'm actually quite shocked that it's added to that much. I feel a bit better knowing that some products I have more than one of that I use weekly, but still. New Cannon DSLR anyone? I'm actually quite ashamed at that in a way... I guess these are the third world problems though, right? Too much money spent on makeup? Definitely going on a spending ban from now on for the foreseeable future. Who's with me?

Does your face cost anywhere near this much? Anyone else feel as bad as me looking at that figure?

The Best of 2013 : Favourite Posts

Hey Peeps,

I have enjoyed blogging so much in 2013. I am proud of each post and found writing each one a joy and also a challenge. Like most things there are always "favourites", I have most popular post that draw a lot of traffic to my blog, but these aren't necessarily my favourite posts. So I thought I would share with you the posts I enjoyed writing, editing and publishing most!

"As most of you have guessed by now I am a bit of a nail polish hoarder. Every time I got out shopping I nearly always buy some nail polishes, whoops!! I just can't help, it is as if the bottles of nail polish are saying "pretty please buy me!" How can you not bring them home???"
In the summer I was absolutely hooked on painting my nails in really bright colours, blog colours and pastel colours. It actually became a bit of an obsession. Also in the summer I think my photography improved because I was able to take pictures outside and in my opinion the lighting was just perfect. The reason why I love this post so much is because I am incredibly proud of how these photos turned out and the way in which I edited them. It was also the first post I did that was part of a seasonal nail polish collection thingy-majig that I started.

"The story starts with a dying girl (Hazel) who meets a really hot boy(Augustus), they fall in teenage love and go on an adventure to Amsterdam together to visit the author Hazels favourite book. They become the best of friends and while it is a sad story it is told from such a funny point of view and there is a lot of dry humour which I really enjoy. In a horrible twist of fate, death occurs at the end of the story and I so desperately wanted there to be a happy ending, but it was anything but happy."
This is one of the most moving stories I have ever read and as it was reading it I felt like I was on a roller-coaster of emotions: there would be times when I was laughing so hard it hurt, was angry for Hazel and Augustus at how unfortunate their situation was and would be crying so deeply it felt like I was actually in the story. This post was one of the most rewarding to write because I wanted to share this book with as many people as possible.

"So I am going on holiday tomorrow to Ireland for a family wedding. We are going on the Ferry for the first time and I am very nervous as the last time I went on a boat I was really sick and I don't know how I am going to react. I thought I would do this post for you as I haven't done this before and wanted to show you what I will be taking with me."
I am going to warn you now, this is a very photo heavy post. But if you haven't been able to tell already; I love a good post with at least 5 photos! I know this is an insane amount of makeup to take on holiday with you, but the way I justified it was as I was going to a wedding all of this was necessary (not!).

"I managed to pick this concealer up for £4.19 which ,for a good concealer that covers up blemishes, is a bargain in my books. The shade I picked up was Light 2. For a while I was 'oohhing' and 'aahhhing' about getting this concealer but I am really glad I bought it as I have been super excited to try this and overall I am happy with this product. What I love about this concealer is how versatile it is it can be used for under my eyes, around my nose and on any blemishes Also it provides great full coverage without looking cakey. It also blends well and I like using the doe foot applicator."
This is my second most popular post and at the time I was writing it I never imagined it would be so popular. I wish this wasn't one of my most popular posts because I don't think my photos are very good on this post and most embarrassingly I have chipped nails :/ But I love this products greatly and it is a complete and utter staple in my makeup routine.

"I have never been one to change my style or look because of new seasonal trends but whilst doing my regular reading online I have come across a few trends that I am really excited about...One of my favourite eras in history is the 60's I love the music, style, hair and the makeup...I do love a full eyelash look on my eyes, I think it adds so much to my face, without mascara my eyes seem really life less but as soon as I apply mascara my eyes light up and so does my face. I will be giving these lashes a go soon...This is the makeup trend I am most excited about. With party season just around the corner I think I will be trying out this trend. Although I think the glittery jewels looks great on the models, I think I will just stick to glitter shimmer."
Ooohhhh it make me so happy this is my most popular post because I really enjoyed creating this so much. I spent hours researching trends and hot looks in magazines and online, I then had to narrow it down because I had a list of like 20 but I am so pleased that people like the trends I chose and I know that I gave these a go and was super happy with how they turned out!

There we have it, a little inside into my favourite posts of 2013. I can't wait to make loads of new and original posts for 2014 and if you have any requests you know what to do, just leave them in the comments section and I can have a look!
