Christmas Day 2013

Hey Peeps,

Just in case you haven't already been able to tell from my garishly festive blog design, partaking in Blogmas and everyday going on and on about how many sleeps it is until Christmas; But I LOVE Christmas so much. This year for the first time in years I have spent Christmas with family outside of my mum, dad and sister. Usually we go to our friends for Christmas because they are practically family. But this year we went to my aunties and we had such a lovely day because my cousins are 3 and 5 and the magic of Santa Claus was so real!

I love dressing up on Christmas day and this year I bought a classic red dress that is very simple with a full skater skirt, three-quarter length sleeves and a really cute belt around the waist. I actually picked this up from monsoon in a sale in September and knew it would be perfect for Christmas Day! My sister calls in my "Mrs Clause dress".  I kept my makeup fairly simple, I had on my naked basics eye shadows (which I received that morning as a present) and my Kate Moss 107 lipstick, but in this photo I think is has rubbed off a bit. As you can see from the photos, we ate a lot of food... but that's what Christmas is all about;isn't it? I forgot to photograph my actual Christmas dinner because I was so excited to eat in when it arrived in front of me, that I dived straight in and totally forgot to take a photo.

I hope you all had a jolly merry Christmas and that you are now all looking forward to the new year!

My Christmas Eve Traditions | Blogmas Day 24

1 sleep till Christmas

Hey Peeps,

This is the last day of Blogmas, aw I am sad it has come to an end because I really enjoyed doing it for the first time. It was hard, don't get me wrong, but I am proud of myself for posting every day and I am pleased I managed to stick to it! I will be post over the Christmas holiday, though I am planning on having a little break and posting as and when I like and not have a schedule. My normal schedule will resume in January but I am not sure whether I will carry on with posting Monday, Wednesday and Saturday or if I should change it up a bit... let me know what you think!

Every family big or small have their own traditions around Christmas time and I want to share with you my Christmas Eve traditions. For most of the day we watch as many Christmas films as we possibly can and we normally have an early tea around 4 because we go to Christmas Eve mass. I love Christmas eve mass because it is always lit by candle light, it is full to bursting with young children and everyone joins in singing the traditional Christmas carols I am a huge sucker for. After mass we always go out for drinks with our family friends. I love this because I don't live near my family so they are like my family and Christmas is about spending time with your family. We exchange gifts and when I was younger I didn't like staying too long because I wanted to get home to bed so Christmas day would come quicker.

After drinks, we head home and begin my favourite part of our Christmas eve traditions. As a family we go up into the attic and get down the stockings and sacks ready for Santa to put all of our presents in them. Then we all take out stockings and choose a place in the living room where we want to sit when we open our presents and we leave our sacks there. On Christmas eve my dad cooks the ham and as there is always loads, we have some ham and homemade bread before bed. My mum is iris and she always had ham as a child so we like to keep up that tradition. After we then prepare a snack for Fr. Christmas, usually we leave out milk, some biscuits and some carrots. If he is lucky, he will get a small glass of alcohol.

What are your Christmas traditions and how did they come about to be traditions? Merry Christmas Eve! I hope you have a good one...

Christmas Edition Room Tour | Blogmas Day 23

2 sleeps till Christmas

Hey Peeps,

Aaahhh can you believe Christmas is only 2 sleeps away? I am so excited right now I am physically having to stop myself from jumping up and down with glee! I would also just like to point to pint out that the song on todays playlist is one of my all time favourite Christmas songs and I am so happy I get to share it with you on the playlist today! Be warned this is a really photo heavy post! I decorated my room all Christmassy a few weeks ago but never got around to photographing it so I know it is a bit last minuet in the rush up to Christmas but here we go... My Christmas Edition Room Tour.

On my black shelf above my bed I have bright white fairy lights draped all around it and 3 candles. I have two sweetie inspired houses that remind me of Christmas as a child and then in the centre I have a Christmas Spice candle form Sainsbury's which smells absolutely divine. On my white book shelf, again I have fairy lights draped around it but this time they are flowers colour in pink and purple. I have some cute tree decorations which I have pinched from the Christmas box and I have displayed them on my shelf. I love the little angles I have hung between my harry potter books! Hanging off one of my purple flower lights, there is a really cute handmade decoration my nana gave me this year and I think it is so adorable. On my mirror I have the homemade decorations I did a tutorial on ( if you missed it you can read it here) and I thought they looked really good stuck around my mirror. Next to it on my notice board I have made a collage of all the Christmas cards I received this year and finally I have my chalk board tea pot that has a countdown in sleeps until Christmas!

I hope you have liked this Christmas room tour and if you would like a full room tour please leave a comment or send me a tweet telling me so.

Christmas PJ's : Blogmas Day 22

3 sleeps till Christmas

Hey Peeps,

Its not long until Christmas... In my house it is a tradition that we all open our presents in out pyjamas and usually we get a new pair of Christmas pyjamas every year. This year Santa gave me an early present so I could wear my pyjamas Christmas eve and Christmas night. When I opened them they came tied in a super cute bow and there was a little label on it that said Merry Christmas. Written inside was "To Becca, From Santa"

These for me are the classic Christmas pyjamas. I absolutely love the festive red print on the bottoms and I like how the top is quite simple with a little pattern detail in the centre. They are made out of the thick, soft snuggly material a dressing gown is made of and they are just unbelievably comfy.

Do you get a new pair of Christmas pyjamas? If so where do you get yours from?
