July Favourites 2014

July has been a very busy month for me, I went had lots of concerts, went down to London on a school trip, went on Holiday to Ireland and yesterday I went down to London (on my own!!) to spend some time with my family. Beauty wise I haven't tried many new products but more found some in my collection that I have started to use more and love.

As I mentioned I have been travelling a fair bit recently and the Naked Basics palette has come in really handy. Being very slim and travel friendly and containing a range or wearable neutral shades, this one is a winner when you are away r from home. What I love most is that you can create lots of different looks with these shadows, from something very basic for the day to a smokey look at night! Next is a lip product that brings out your natural tan and makes you look like a golden goddess ( or nearly anyway!!) if you wear it with a strong amount of bronzer. It is the Bourjois Colour Boost in Peach On The Beach, just the name along is perfect for summer. What I love about the Bourjois colour boost range is that all the lip crayons are really moisturising but the colour is still really pigmented. I am really enjoying wearing pink/peach shades at the moment, let me know if you have any other peach lip product recommendations. I have completely fallen in love with the Clinique High Impact that was a freebie in the Glamour magazine this month. It adds plenty of volume and length and the best part is it actually lasts all day. Mascara that comes off during the day is so annoying, but this one holds it curl really well all day. I think I have used this everyday during July. My final favourite this month is a face SPF. The sun has made a very welcomed appearance in the UK and I have definitely been making the most of it. I wear the Garnier High Protection Lotion SPF 30, applying it after my moisturiser and before my primer. It is so important to wear SPF as it prevents wrinkles and lets be honest a sun burnt face is going to be very very painful. My mum and sister both got sun burnt on their faces whilst on holiday because they weren't wearing a face SPF, so it goes to show how important it is to wear. I wanted to include it as it is something I couldn't have lived without this month!

What products have you been loving during July?

How To Prolong Your Spray Tan

I have said it before and I will say it again... I am a pale girl. In the winter being pale doesn't bother me and it never really crosses my mind, but come summer when it is warm outside and I want to wear cute dresses and shorts; I am either snow white or a patchy mess from trying to do my own fake tan. Before going on holiday I got a spray tan because 1) I hate being pale when everyone else has golden tans and 2) I was going to a wedding and thought it was better to get a proper tan rather than me attempting a tan that would have most likely ended up patchy. After my tan I wanted to make it last for as long as possible, so here are some of the things I did along with some tips, I am no expert at spray tans (this was only my first one after all) but I did learn a few things and I wanted to share with you some of the things I learnt!

When you are in the shower wash gently, if you scrub away really hard then the tan is going to come off unevenly. Gentle washing helps your tan to last longer and not rub off. Just pat yourself dry where you get out of the shower, again rubbing yourself dry with the towel will bring the tan off - so just pat gently! Every time you get out of the shower it is really important to moisturise as this will again help to prolong your tan and moisturising will mean your tan fades evenly. My favourite moisturiser is the Soap and Glory The Daily Smooth Body Butter - I have a review here if you would like to read more.I find body butters to be the most nourishing and as you can see I have nearly used up all of this one. A few days after I got my spray tan, I started to use some tanning products on top. In the morning, after I moisturised, I used the Beauty Lab Preptide Tanning Hydrating Tan Extender*. It is designed to help your tan last longer whether it is a natural or fake tan. There is a bit of a funky smell - but lets face it nearly all tanning products have a smell. My tan lasted a good 7-8 days and I think it was helped a lot by this product. If you are planning on getting a spray tan and want to invest in a product that will help it work I think this is worth it. As well as the tan extender, I used my normal gradual tan - which at the moment is the Dove Summer Glow Gradual Tanner. This was good at just topping up the colour very gently. In the evenings I would use the gradual tanner and this combination worked really well at helping my tan to last longer.

What products do you use to help prolong your tan? Do you have any other tips?

Summer Nail Polishes 2014

Its summer! I am writing this post looking out the window at the glorious sunshine that is making everyone's days brighter, happier and everyone's skin looking more tanned! Summer is a great time to add bright colours into your wardrobe and I love wearing bright colours on my nails especially. I have only just realised now that I have done WOMN posts or mentioned them before for all of the next polishes, but it does go to show that I really love and use these polishes.

First up is the Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro in Pink Posh, in this post I labelled this polish as the perfect pink and I still hold my word against that. As I have said before the colour is a bright but very wearable pink - it complement my skin tone really well and isn't a neon or barbie pink (which I find don't suit me at all). The formula of this is amazing and if I look after my polish it can last up to 5 days; it claims to last up to 10 days but I don't think it's that good! I found this in my local discount shop for only £1 and I have seen them on Fragrance direct for not much more than that. Next is another bright, Barry M Gelly Passion Fruit ( post here). This is a perfect combination of red, orange and coral - a good summer twist on the classic red nail. Because of it's gelly formula is is super glossy and I much prefer this finish. Also, I have another gelly polish from Barry M in Sugar Apple ( post here). I did say I love bolder polishes in summer but nothing beats tanned skin with the perfect mint polish - and this my friends is the perfect mint polish. I recently got a spray tan and took advantage of being golden by wearing this polish. The last polish is probably a love it or hate it colour, but quite frankly I love it. Barry M Amethyst Glitter (post here) is a gorgeous glitter with a mix of purple, turquoise, pink and gold. For some reason I used to only ever think you could wear glitter on one nail. Then I saw Fleur De Force wearing a shade very similar and it looked amazing. Immediately I put this bad boy on all my nails and am so glad I did as it is so girly and looks fab. Recently I have been wearing clothes that are a lot simpler and plainer so this polish is great as it adds so much to an outfit.

There you have it, all the polishes I have been wearing on my nails so far this summer and I will definitely continue to wear them a lot this season! What are your go-to polishes for summer?

The 'I'm On Holiday Face'

I am on holiday at the moment, and though it may only be a hop into the next country - Ireland is proving to be a very sunny destination at the moment. With my summer wardrobe on, legs out and my tan getting darker! I brought quite a bit of makeup with me because I am going to a wedding whilst on my holiday; so I wanted to have options. But in reality I have found myself wearing only a fraction of the products I have actually brought with me.

I am quite tanned at the moment (because I got my first spray tan last week - lets just say that I am now in love with being tanned and I don't ever want to go back to being a pale gal') but my face is still very pale as I wasn't keen on the idea of spray tanning my face. Anyway I am wearing quite a dark foundation at the moment to match the rest of my body - Maybelline Fit Me foundation in the shade 120 classic ivory. My concealer at the moment is the Benefit Boi-ing concealer as my collection lasting perfection one is too light for me at the moment. I am also bronzing up my face quite a bit with the Laura Geller Balance N Bronze, which is my favourite bronzer as it never looks orange on my skin and has speckles of blush and highlight running through.  This month's Glamour freebie is this Clinique high impact mascara, I am really enjoying using this and I love that this is a travel size - so great seen as I am away. Even though it is a travel size there is a really decent amount of product and the brush is just fab! Finally I have my first ever MAC Lipstick in Sunny Seoul. It is such a pretty warm pink/peach toned lipstick and looks amazing in summer because it really enhances your natural tan and I think it makes me look more tanned than I actually am. I am going to do a full review soon so stay tuned for that!

What makeup do you actually wear on holiday?

Primark Summer Haul 2014

I am sorry for the photo heavy post but it was the best way to show you all the clothes. Posing in my clothes was a big 'no-no' as I always feel really awkward posing in outfits - I don't know how fashion bloggers do it. Primark has loads of really pretty and very summery clothes in , but I was obviously feeling the monochrome when I went shopping because everything is black, white or grey except the scarfs! I feel like my fashion is changing at the moment, mainly because Anna from ViviannaDooesMakeup has become my style icon.

Lets start with the kimonos. Primark had a lot of floral patterned kimonos when I went in, but I just wasn't feeling the flowers. This black and white Aztec print kimono is right up my street at the moment and I could wear it with either a black, white or grey shirt underneath. Under the kimono is a black vest top that is quite sheer and has very faint striped panels with some a bit darker that others; sorry it's really hard to explain. Down the back is a little gold hardware zip. I would recommend wearing a black bandeau underneath so it is more decent. This was reduced from £7 to £4.70 which I think is a bargain. Next I found two dresses that were £5 each - I got a black one and a black and white daisy print. They are a really soft jersey/ t-shirt material and great for when it is  super hot, which it is surprisingly at the moment! The last clothing item is a grey tank top with white lace detailing around the bottom. I thought this was really pretty as it is quite simple but the lace detailing adds a little something extra.

All the scarfs were £2 each, and I love wearing scrafs with my leather jacket - so I bought two! The first one is a cream colour with small red and blue roses and the second (which is my favourite) is a lilac colour with really big and bright flowers. They are so cute and for the price I really couldn't go wrong. Finally I saw this black clutch. I have been after a clutch for ages but every where I looked the clutches were too small, too decorative and usually too expensive. As I was going to a wedding and wearing a bright busy dress, I needed a clutch that was plain black, quite large and fairly cheap. At just £3 this ticked all the boxes!

I am really pleased with everything I bought and Primark have some great things in at the moment so go and have a look!

WOMN#6 Barry M Sugar Apple

I won this nail polish along with the two other shades from the spring collection - Huckleberry and Rose Hip, in Sarah's giveaway from Sarah Smiles. Thank you Sarah! Sugar Apple is the prettiest mint green that I think is great for summer as it makes your tan look really good. It is a mint turquoise mint that is quite bright without being too in your face. The first coat was a little streaky but once I applied a second coat it was absolutely fine and looked great.Like all gelly hi shine polishes form Barry M, they are super thick with a really glossy finish. As I have mentioned before the gelly polishes are my favourite range from Barry M as the formula is great for the price and it resembles the gel manicure finish.

At the moment I am wearing a lot of monochrome clothing - I know it's summer but I am loving black and white and opting for these over my colourful summer clothes. I find Sugar Apple looks really good with both black and white as it is a really bright pop of colour.

What Barry M Gelly polishes are you loving at the moment?

Pinterest Tips & Tricks For Bloggers

For a long time now I have used pinterest, not only for blogging but also for my personal use. I find Pinterest can be one of my main sources of inspiration and is great when you want to look up tutorials, DIYs and celebrity fashion looks. Awhile ago in a twitter chat I mentioned that I love using pinterst for inspiration and sharing posts, I got lots of responses from people asking lots of questions about how Pinterest works and the best ways to use it for blogging. Pinterest is also great at driving traffic if you use it correctly so I have come up with some of my top tips and tricks for using pinterest as a blogger.

Always use one image from every post and pin the best image if you have used more than one. Choosing you best image for each post is better than several that are just a bit average. Remember quality over quantity.

Use the POST URL not your blog URL. I have made the mistake of pinning my images from my blog url rather than from the actual post url itself. It is really annoying for other people wanting to go to the post the pin in about becuase it takes them to your home page and not the post. Nine times out of ten they will probably leave because they won't want to try and find the post. Make it easy for everyone by using the post url when pinning an image.

Make sure all images are pinable. By this I mean have big, bold and simple text becuase it tells the pinner exactly what the post is about and makes it really clear. Also use images that are related to the post and give information about what the post is about. If you use a photograph image edit it to make it of the best possible quality, no body want to pin a small dark and fuzzy image... now do they?

Organise your boards. You can do this by creating boards around the topics of your blog : Beauty, Fashion, Lifestyle Baking. Once you have created your boards go though and choose the best image from each board to use as the cover image. Cute and relevant cover images really draw you into a board and can mean you get someone pinning many images from one of your boards!

Join group boards. Group boards are great as they usually more people following them and so as a result your pins get views, and hopefully pinned, by more people. So either find some you can join or create a group board with some of your blogging friends.

Label Your Image. It is really important to make sure you always fill in the image description with key words and your blog name. For example if I was doing a review on a maybelline mascara I could use the labels: Maybelline Mascara Review on MissBeccaBeauty

Don't over pin. Yes you may love the pin you have used for you latest summer makeup tutorial but we don't need to see it down out feed 10 times, if we have already pinned it seeing it 10 more times is not going to make anyone pin it again - it is more likely to annoy them. Also, just like on twitter, you don;t want to be seen as spamming peoples feeds with the same pin. So maybe pin it twice or three times a day - for example pin the image for today's post in the morning, around lunch time and then finally in the evening.

Do you use Pinterest? Leave your Pinterest username in the comment below and I will go and have a look and give you a follow. My pinterest is MissBeccaBeauty ( http://www.pinterest.com/missbeccabeauty/ ) if you fancy a look. Leave your Pinterest tips & tricks below if I have missed anything.

Eyebrow Trick For Complete Beginners

In the past few years eyebrows have become a huge deal in the beauty world. Some girls/women feel they cannot leave the house without their brows done and it has become an essential part of many peoples everyday makeup routine. For me brows aren't that big of a deal, I like to pluck my brows and keep on top of them but I have dark hair and find that the colour of them isn't a problem for me and I actually really like the natural shape of my brows. So do I need to fill them in?... no is the honest answer. However sometimes I feel I should and particularity if I am going out somewhere really nice or doing a more dramatic makeup look then sometimes I do like to add a bit more shape and definition to my brows.

Because I don't regularly fill my brows in; I hold my hand up to being a beginner who hasn't tried many brow products (if any...). However I have found a cool little trick that works well for me and only involves two products and three simple steps:

Step 1. Find an eye shadow that suits the natural colour of your eyebrows, I would suggest a shade that is a bit lighter than your hair colour.

Step 2. Using any spoolie you have, tap it gently into the eye shadow making sure you get some product onto the spoolie.

Step 3. Now you can use the spoolie to gently brush through your brows.

You will be left with subtly filled in brows, the shadow adds a little bit of colour and definition to your brows while the spoolies brushes the shadow through your brows evenly so you don't get any wonky or overly dramatic brows.

The London Edit : What's In My Bag

As you are reading this I will be on route to London! School is running a trip for the day and I am so excited as I get so spend the whole day with my friends in my favourite city: sightseeing, going to watch Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in the West End and of course we are going shopping. I actually took these photos yesterday and then swapped bags over at thought this one (a celine inspired eBay purchasable!) was too big. But the contents of my bag are exactly the same - so enjoy!

Here is a brief over view of what is in my bag for my trip to London. My Cath Kidston purse so I can buy lots of pretty things, a little zip up pouch from Cath Kidston where I keep my headphones and iPod. I always carry a little medicine bag in case of emergencies, at the moment I am using a little pouch from Liz Earle that came with a travel set I got a while ago - I find this is the perfect size. In summer, but usually all year round, I don't leave the house without my sunglasses - so these are absolute essentials. Primark do great ones at ridiculously cheap prices which I normally wear but recently I have been wearing my M&S ones with I love as they are brown and not black because black can be harsh on my pale skin and they also have a very subtle cat winged look without being too drastic. Behind that I have a notepad in case I get bored on the train or have any waves of inspiration! Tissues - what can I say, sometimes a girl has gotta blow her nose. I will admit I copied Anna (from VDM) with the whole hair band around tissue pack thing. There are some mints because I like to have fresh breath and also a small makeup which I will talk more about below...
I always feel more confident knowing that I have a few essential products with me in case of an emergency. It sounds ridiculous but oh well. So I have a concealer to cover my dark circles and any big bad spots that decide to appear during the day, a new powder I am testing out ( review coming soon!) to keep shine at bay, a stippling style brush, my favourite Tanya Burr lip gloss in Afternoon Tea ( in case you missed it I did a review here) and a Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie. Also the mini clinique high impact mascara and the Rodical lip balm - both out in magazines this month, so go quick if you want to try them. Finally my little pot of haymax - which if you are a hay-fever suffer then I recommend you get your hands on it as it stops those hysterical sneezing fits,  bobby pins, a big clip and a nail file.

WOMN#5 Barry M Amethyst Glitter

It feels like ages since I have done a what's on my nails but I have found a new polish I am a little bit obsessed with.  When it comes to glitter polishes I used to just wear it on one finger as an accent nail, but the other day I was just craving something really bright and glittery on my nails. This polish screams - WOW!

I have spotted a mix of purple, dark blue, gold pink and a turquoise blue. From what I can see, when I focus really hard, there are two different sizes of glitter, small and micro. The polish is densely packed with loads and loads of of jewels and glitter

It is just unbelievably gorgeous in only 2 coats!

Do you have any glitter polishes recommendation as I am hooked on glitter at the moment?

Travel & Packaging Tips

Holiday season is in full bloom and with my holiday only a week away I though now would be the perfect time to share with you some of my travel and packing tips. I am no expert but I would say I am a well travelled girl with plenty  experience of long journeys, restricted weight allowances and packing quickly and efficiently.

Tick, Tick, Tick. Check lists are super dooper useful as they keep you organised and I love ticking a box when I put an item into my case or bag. It is also a really good visual way of planning and seeing what you are actually taking with you so you don't end up with loads of impulsive items you have just chucked in that take up loads of roam.

Comfort in key. Make sure you are wearing really comfortable clothes when you travel, there is nothing worse than sitting in those jeans that are too tight or walking around the airport in shoes that rub and make your feet hurt. Wear clothes that you know are trusty comfortable pieces.

Keep on rolling. Rolling your clothes is a great way to save on space as your rolled clothes will fit together well and you can also squeeze them into the sides of your case and any gaps. Plus when you arrive at your destination you won't have to worry about ironing crinkled clothes as rolling minimises wrinkles - it's a win, win!

Double up those products. Especially for beauty items you can use one product for a couple of different things. This way you can still get the same look but with less products. Cream blush can be used as a lip product, your bronzer can work as an eye shadow either for all over the lid or just in the crease and bring a high coverage foundation becuase if you mix in some moisturiser you can create anything from a medium coverage foundation to a sheer tinted moisturiser.

Electrical bag. I like to use a little pouch or small makeup bag to put all my wires, chargers, headphones and small gadgets in. It keeps everything together and saves you rummaging through your bag looking for that wire. Also it means I can just grab this bag before I leave the house and I have everything I need.

What are you top tips for travelling and packing?

July Magazine Freebies

I love a great bargain, especially when they are beauty bargains! A couple of weeks ago I read that this month there were some amazing Clinique freebies in the Glamour magazine. I set a reminder for 7th July, when the magazine was released, and began my search for the Clinique bargains. As you know Glamour is only £2 and when they have freebies they are generally really good. I remember around Christmas there were some festive Nails Inc. polishes up for grabs and at only £2, I had to buy all 4 of them! Anyway my mum and I went to many many shops looking for the Clinique products and eventually, after much looking and disappointment, we finally got our hands on the products we were eager to try. I also picked up another magazine that had a lip balm I was interested to try - but on that later.

Clinique High Impact Mascara - Glamour Magazine £2
I have heard a lot of good reviews on Clinique mascaras in general so this mascara was a must for me to get. Most of the shops had more mascaras than anything else. I have tries this a couple of times already and I have to say I am impressed. The product it's self is a decent size and this would be great for going away in the summer as it contains a lot of product but is a travel friendly size. The mascara is more lengthening that volumising but I don't mind that. I would wear this more during the day as it leaves my lashes looking really long and natural.

Clinique Chubby Sticks 06 Woppin' Watermelon / 07 Super Strawberry - Glamour Magazine £2
These took a lot of hunting down. If you want to get your hands on them I would hurry and buy them now. My tip would be to try small newsagents that don' t get a lot of people going into them or ask a member of staff if they have any magazines in the back that haven't been put on the shelves yet. They are really nice lip products and great for summer because they have a sheer finish so look lovely and natural on the lips. Also they are quite moisturising. I wouldn't pay full price for these but seen as they were only £2 I think they are really nice for adding a pretty colour to your lips.

Rodical Stemcell Super-Food Lip Balm - Red Magazine £4
When I first saw this I didn't really pay much attention to it as I have a lot of lip balms and I was focused on finding the Clinique products. But the next morning I woke up with the driest sorest lips I have ever had. I tried all the usual suspects - Vaseline, Burts Bees, Carmex - but nothing was making the cut and my lips weren't improving. I remembered seeing the Rodical lip balm in the Red magazine so I thought I would give it a try as the words "super-food" intrigued me. Plus it retails at £16 and the magazine was only £4 so I thought 'Why not?!'. This lip balm is amazing! It really helped my lips and was just what I needed. I am going to do a full review on this soon so I won't say too much.

The Perfect Pink | Nails & Lips

I don't wear a lot of pink in my wardrobe, but I think every girl needs that perfect pink they can wear on their nails and lips that will go with any outfit; any time of the year. It has taken me

When it comes to bright lips, I generally stick to neutral and understated pinks as this is more in my comfort zone. But whist browsing in Topshop at the lipstick stand I was undecided between getting a nude or this bright pink. In the end I opted for this Topshop lipstick in Brighton Rock. The shade looks quite berry-ish in the photo but on my lips it is a bold medium pink with no shimmer but it isn't matte. It is very bold, for me, but I can still get away with wearing this at the weekend. What I love most is that I can wear this pink lipstick to a sheet finish, but you can layer it up to a stronger pink.

I don't even know where to start with this nail polish, it's the Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro in Posh Pink. I love pink nails but  do find that some are too barbie like, have a really strong blue undertone and some are just way too dark for my pale skin. I picked up this polish on a bit of a whim for only £1 in my local factory shop. I am not even joking when I say I fell in love with it straight away. The shade suited my skin tone perfectly and it lasted on my nails for 5 days with only very very minor chipping. I can't even put into words how much I love this polish! As I have mentioned I change my nail polish a lot and I am always wearing different colours, but in the last two weeks I have painted my nails 4 times with this polish. It lasts for ages so I have basically only had this colour on my nails!

How To Have An Awesome Summer!

It is getting to the time of year when the summer holidays are just around the corner and we are all dying for six weeks off from school. But, as I have learnt from the past, it is not always as amazing as we hoped it would be. This year I am determined to have an amazing summer holiday because, without trying to sound big-headed, I think I deserve it. We all deserve to enjoy our summer holidays as we spend all year going to school, completing homework, waking up way too early in the morning and revising for exams for what seems like all the time. Here are some little tips and pieces of advise for how to have an amazing summer.

Relax, relax. Take it easy! The summer holidays is your time to relax, with no school or exams getting in your way. So make the most of it and find time everyday to do something relaxing. For example, read a magazine for 20 minuets a day or sit outside in your back and paint your nails.

Create your own summer routine. This way you can still relax, but you are making the most of your day and it is nice to have a routine you can follow and I find it helps me to enjoy the day more.

Set your self a little summer book challenge. I love reading but can never find the time during the school term as I have so much to do. But I do love to get into a book whilst I am on holiday and this summer I have an interesting list. Reading is very relaxing and I love reading outside when it is really warm, listening to music and wearing my sunglasses. Let me know if you would like to see a post on what books I am planning on reading this summer.

Say yes to every opportunity that comes your way. Sometimes what happens in the holidays is that I can spend a couple days in a row just staying in the house. This is really rubbish and is honestly a waste of the free time that I have. This year I am going to try and say yes to as much as I can and get out of the house and do things on a daily basis.

Keep memories of the Summer of 2014. If you are doing something exciting or notice something really pretty take a picture of it and you can create a collection of amazing memories. Then in years to come or during the dreary winter months you can look back at your collection of 2014 summer memories and remember how amazing your summer was! I am going to make more of an effort to get photos developed as I think there is something really nostalgic about holding ad displaying photos!

Ebay Wishlist #1

Ebay is like a black hole; it sucks you in and you can spend hours just scrolling though and lusting after all the incredible bargains. I couldn't not share with you some of the things that made it onto my watch list and into collections. So feel free to take a look but I am warning you Ebay is very dangerous - I would set aside some time for endlessly scrolling through Ebay!

June Favourites 2014

I wasn't sure if I was even going to get around to writing this post up as everything has been so crazy recently, anyway here it what I have been loving this month. It's not loads but they are all new discoveries this month.

I did a review last week on Tanya Burr's lip gloss in Afternoon Tea. Yes I am incredibly late to this party but I am so glad I joined in. The shade it's self is very natural and girly and I think looks best with a 'simple base and eye liner' look for everyday. If you are scared of the sticky feeling then don't worry this lip gloss is sticky free but I made the mistake of wearing it on a windy day and then ended up with hair stuck in my lip gloss (it was not a good look!). Other than that I love this lip gloss and you can read a more in depth review here.

Keeping with the makeup products I have a new eye shadow I am loving. Usually I am a 'palettes girl' as all the shades are in one place and it makes pairing shadows so much easier. But I popped into pound land the other week to see if they had any good beauty products and I saw this little gem. It is the L'Oreal Colour Infallible in the shade 016 Coconut Shake, which is also a matte finish. I have another two of these but they are in quite dark shades and I only really whip them out for events and occasions; I love them but they are not really what I go for on an everyday basis. This however is the absolute perfect base shadow that i can wear on it's own or with another shade in the crease, liquid or pencil liner depending on my mood and lashings of mascara. This is what I have been wearing most of June.

Everyone loves the 'dewy look' in summer and don't get me wrong I am part of this club too; but some days it can just look a bit too dewy - more like verging on sweaty- and that is not a good look on more. So that is when I reach for my trusty Jemma Kidd Bio-Mineral Perfecting Powder in 01 light. I used to be a huge fan of the Rimmel Stay Matte powder but the packaging was so rubbish and I needed a compact with a mirror that was really sturdy for when I just chucked it in my bag. I love all Jemma Kidd packaging- it is just so girly yet practical. This powder is wonderful at setting my makeup and reducing shine.

A favourites post wouldn't be complete without mentioning a nail polish I have been obsess with this month - Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro Polish in Posh Pink. I bought this on a whim, I saw it for a couple of pounds so wasn't really expecting much. It claims that it stays on your nails for up to 10 days, I didn't stay on quite that long but I managed to get 5 days wear out of this which coming from the girls who paints her nails every other day this is seriously impressive! Colour wise it is amazing, it's bright but not neon, bold but not in your face. I would even go as far as saying it may be my perfect pink nail polish shade...

Finally I just want to mention that I am loving the Hugo Boss Boss Jour Pour Femme (it's the white bottle if you're not sure!!). This is actually my mums but we did a little swap of perfumes the other week - just to mix things up a bit - and I have kind of fallen in love with this. I am not very good at describing scents but I will give it a go : I would say it is a floral but fresh and citrus fragrance with warm woody undertones.
