Blogging Lingo : Part 2

 Hey Peeps,

When I did part one of my blogging lingo it went down a huge storm and I was so pleased with the lovely comments and response I received. If you missed Blogging Lingo : Part 1 then you can click here to read it. Today I will share with you words from I-Z, though I have to admit I couldn't think of any words for the first couple of letters so I just started at M...

Meetup: This is an event where bloggers (and sometimes PR and media) meet up to socialise, get to know each other and its just like a blogging party.
Monetizing You Blog: This is the act of making a profit on you blog
Monthly Favourites:  A post showcasing all the products a blogger had been loving that month, usually beauty, fashion, skincare or random favourites.
Niche: This is what makes you blog different and special to everyone else. Your niche can be the topic you write about, your writing style, your blog design or even your photographs. It is something that sets your blog aside from every other.
NOTD: Nail of the day
OOTD: Outfit of the day
Permalink: Your blog is made up of many posts. The permalink is the unique URL of a single post on you blog. It is used so individual posts can be found and referenced to at other times.
Platform: This is the site in which you host your blog. The two most popular platforms are Blogger (which I use) and WordPress.
RSS: It stands for Really Symple Syndication. You can subscribe to a blog via an RSS feed and then use it in a reader
SEO:  Search Engine Optimisation is what is done to increase you traffic to your blog by searching for keywords, tags and phrases ( sorry I don't know much about SEO)
Sidebar: This is the area on the side of your blog where you can put links, images, archives, popular posts and more
Social Media Icons: These are little recognisable images that when you click on them, take the reader directly to the appropriate social media page and then they can follow you and your blog.
Sponsoring: This where you pay a small fee to another blogger so your blog button is advertised on their blog for a length of time (usually a month).
Tabs: These are the buttons along the top of your blog (or sometimes at the side) that navigate you around your blog. They are usually home, about and contact. They can also sometimes be called pages.
Vlog: A vlog is made by a vlogger who sits and talks to a camera, and talks about all the same things as you would on a blog but just to a camera instead of through a computer.
YouTube: A person who uploads videos on a regular basis to their YouTube Channel.

The Magical Harry Potter Studios Tour

Hey Peeps,

On Thursday last week I felt like the luckiest girl alive as i got to go to the Harry Potter Studios in London. My ever so generous family got this gift as a Christmas present for me and my sister (who appears in all the photos with me), the tickets came in a white envelope and as soon as I saw the starry blue and black tickets I knew straight away what they were!

I am not going to waffle on too much as i don't want to let out any spoilers in case some of you are planning on going. But I will say you should definitely get some pictures on the broomsticks in the green room, try butter beer because you can only buy it there or in Orlando's and spend as long as you possibly can reading everything and taking it all in because there is so much to see and learn.

Enjoy looking at the pictures, i know i certainly enjoyed taking them! I do apologise for the photo heavy post but this is Harry Potter Studios we are talking about so it had to be done :) I just want to say that the sun has made a sneaky appearance over the past few days and it has got me super excited for Spring to arrive. Oh please pretty spring come soon...

Day Trip To France

Hey Peeps,

I am sorry I have been a bit a-wall from twitter and 'real' content posts. But I have been on holiday this week and had an amazing time. It was also nice to have a  week away from the Internet and twitter; I am back now and I wanted to share with you the adventures i got up to this week. On Tuesday my mum surprised me by telling met that she is taking us to France for the day. I was very excited and I was looking forward to it so much.

We were staying in Kent for the week and so Tuesday morning we popped onto a train in our car to France. We arrived in Calie and then headed over to a little down just outside of Calie.  I was most looking forward to eating in France and for lunch we found a little quaint french restaurant that was absolutely perfect.  The place was very small but friendly and unique. For starter I had pate with french meats and a small side of salad dressed in a really sweet balsamic vinegar. After I had the dish I was most looking forward to... a whole bowl of french mussels. I am a huge fan of seafood and in particular prawns and mussels. I didn't manage to finish them all but I had a good go at it! After we walked around, the place is beautiful and my favourite part was walking around the old castle walls. The view was incredible.

In the evening we went to a huge french supermarket, it was so big that they were handing out maps so you could find your way around the place. We bought loads of food such as cheese, meats, bread, pastries, chocolate and much much more. The thing I was most excited to try was Bioderma. I have heard everyone talk about it and since I was in France I thought it would be a good time to get it and try it out. I will be doing a review on it when I was used it for awhile and can develop my own honest opinion of it.

Beauty Scenario Tag

Hey Peeps,

You know I love a good ole' tag so I wanted to do the tag that Lily Pebbles created on her YouTube channel a few weeks ago. This is a really fun tag all about beauty scenarios (if you hadn't already guessed!). I am going to tag everyone to do this as it is a really cool tag, if you do this tag on your blog or channel leave a link below in the comments and I will be sure to check it out.

1. You have to get rid of all your foundations and you can only keep one high end and one drugstore, which do you keep? As I don't own any high end foundations, I am already failing this tag but if I could own a high end foundation it would probably be MAC studio sculpt or Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. Both are foundations I would love to try. For the drugstore foundation I would pick Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid foundation. I love this foundation, it is the perfect all rounder for someone like me who likes natural coverage.

2. You go for an interview and the lady interviewing you has lipstick on her teeth. Do you approach the subject or ignore it completely? I have never been for an interview before but if I imagine myself in that situation I would probably tell her, because I would want to know if I had lipstick on my teeth. Think how embarrassing it would be to walk around all day with lipstick on your teeth (cringe!)

3. You're not feeling yourself and need a pick me up. Which lipstick do you put on to make yourself feel beautiful? For starters if I was feeling down I would try to smile because I think everything seems better when you make the effort to smile. Then I would apply the Bourjois Colour Boost in Fuchsia Libra

4. You go back in time for a day to your teenage years, how would you do your hair and makeup differently? I am still a teenage but a couple of years ago I used to wear my hair in a 'regulation hairdo' (as my mum called it) and that was a pony tail at the top of my head. It never changed and it was mainly a confidence thing as my hair was very thick and wavy. I would tell myself to embrace the curliness, to get a grip and not worry about what people thought of how you wore your hair.

5. You ask your hairdresser for a shoulder length Pixie Lott hair cut, but they hear wrong and give you a pixi cut. Do you a) Smile, say thank you, leave and call your mum hysterical b) Cry in the chair and things get awkward or c) Complain to the manager and demand a refund. Although I like to think I am tougher and would do b or c. I am afraid to say I would probably do a). I would be too embarrassed to say anything and I would hate to upset the lady who did my hair.

6. Your friend surprises you with a 4 day city break and you have 1 hour to pack. Which 'do it all' palette do you pack in your makeup bag? For Christmas I received the Naked Basics Pallete and I have used it everyday since. I much prefer matte shades so this pallete is perfect for me. It is really small and compact but has a really good range of shades for day and night!

7. Your house has been robbed, don't worry everyone is safe, but your beauty stash has been raided. What's the product you really hope is safe? Okay, I probably seem like a really big beauty geek for saying this but I would hope that all my skincare was safe, in particular my Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish. I seriously cannot last a day without this stuff!

8. Your friend borrows your makeup and returns it in awful condition. Do you a) Just pretend you haven't noticed b) Ask them to repurchase it or c) Secretly do the same to something of theirs.
It depends of the conditions of awful. If I could still use it for a while after then I would just pretend that I hadn't noticed. But if it was returned so badly that I couldn't use it then I would have to ask them to repurchase it so b). Just as a side note if I borrowed someone's makeup I would take really good care of it and if it got damaged, broken or lost I would repurchase it for them without them having to ask.

Inspired Valentines Outfits

 Hey Peeps,

So Valentines Day is just a few days away and for some of you this may be super exciting because you have plans with your boyfriend or know someone is going to surprise you and make you really happy. But for most of us it is just another day where we don't have a boyfriend (or girlfriend, if any of my readers are boys :/) but even more so, it is rubbed right in our faces with a cold sponge. I think the idea of valentines is so cute and romantic but I find every year it disappoints me. At the moment around my school there are posters talking about love and reminding people to post their cards in the letter box ready to be delivered. But I think its cringe how valentines day has turned into another commercial day rather than a really nice day people can enjoy if they have someone to share it with that they love; or they can just ignore it if they want to. I mean how can you ignore it if in every shop you walk into shelf are packed with chocolate hearts and lovey dovey cards. Anyway, I wanted to show you what I would wear out for Valentines day. I know some of you may have dates or you may just be going out with some of your friends.

For the day outfit I have gone with girly pastel colours to show a softer side. I always think pastels are very flattering and in an outfit look well put together without looking as though you have tried too hard. Because we are still in Winter i think a cropped jumper would look really nice with light denim jeans and ballet pumps. Alternatively a pain white dress would look really girly with some pale peach accessories and this bag is so versatile as it works well with both daytime outfits. This shade of peach is very flattering on all skin tones and I love this blush because it looks really natural and this shade gives off a really healthy glow!

The night outfit is more dressy and keeping with the peachy pastel colour I think these three dresses are appropriate for valentines day. A LBD is always a winner and by dressing it with different accessories. This flower necklace is so dainty and beautiful and I think it contrasts well with the black. The other two dresses are very similar but I think work well for different body shapes. I think burgundy lips and nails works well as this is an evening outfit and burgundy is very girly and feminine.

I hope you liked these valentines outfits and maybe it has given you some inspiration if you have a date on Friday. Enjoy Valentines with those who love you. Just to let you know i am going away on holiday over half term so i will just see if I get chance to blog, maybe i will maybe I wont...

High School: Exams and GCSEs

Source

Hey Peeps,

I have had a lot going on recently and I did have another post planned for today but I really fancied just sitting at my laptop, with no particular topic, and just chatting to you. I find blogging a great way to get things off my chest and it feels like ages since I have just rambled on so here we go. High School. Its such a weird yet wonderful place to be when your a teenager. Its great because school gives you lots of opportunities to do new things, to try and find who you are and to make loads of friends. But school is also really scary. Everyday bring new drama, new lessons to be learnt (and I am not talking about in a classroom) and obstacles that determine who you are and who you will become.

This week I have been making decisions for which GCSEs I would like to do. I don't struggle academically in school and tend to do really well in class and with my grades. But trust me this is not always a good thing. Recently I have been very stressed because I feel like I am under a lot of pressure to preform well all the time in class and get the highest grades. I feel like every one expects so much from me all the time, my classmate and my teachers. Every time we have an exam I work my but off revising for days before making sure I am confident with everything and usually I do well, but that's only because I worked hard for those grades. It really frustrates me when you get those few people who prat around in class, don't take notes, ignore the teacher and never get on with their work. Yet when it come to an exam they get one of the top mark. That just isn't fair...

Anyway for Yr10 I have decided to do History and Spanish as I really enjoy these subjects at the moment and I think I will do well in them. But I have one more option and I really don't know what to do... My head is telling me to do something academic like phycology  but my heart is telling me to do music because it is my passion and I know I will enjoy it. I am really confused in my head as I don't know what I want to do in the future. This frustrates me because I am a big planner. For example I have all my posts already planned for the rest of February. I just really like knowing what's coming next. I am also really scared for year 10 and 11 as I want to do really well in my exams. In an ideal world I would love to get 8 or more A*. Lots of people are telling me this is what I will get and I deep down I really want those A* and I want to work hard to get them. But I am just scared that I wont preform well in the exams and now we don't get re-sits so I am panicking.

If you have any tips on choosing GCSE options or on how you cope with exams can you let me know in the comments please.
