November Favourites

 Hey Peeps,
I can literally taste the countdown to Christmas, it is so close now! At the moment I am writing all my blog posts listening to Christmas music and it is making me so cheery and festive, Today I have mainly beauty products which is strange for me because I usually only have a few...

First up is a product that I received in the ELLE magazine.I was searching high and low for Dandelion the Benefit lip gloss. What I love is that the colour is super subtle and sheen yet looks so pretty on the lips. Also I find the texture is really nice; not the horrible sticky texture you get with cheap lip glosses. I am not a huge fan of lip glosses but Benefit you may have converted me!

Recently I have been wearing eyeliner pretty much on a regular basis. I wasn't sure at first if I would like eyeliner on me so I bought this really cheap one from MUA called the Extreme Felt Eyeliner. It only cost about £2 and is great for the price. It's not jet black, more of a natural grey black. However for me, only starting out, it is perfect. I didn't want to buy an expensive one and then turn around and not like it, so I went for cheap and cheerful... it has done the job, made me happy and has ended up in my November Favourites!

I mentioned in a previous monthly favourotes that I have been loving this perfume and it has made it back onto the list this month. It is more of a summer scent but I love the  Love Limited Edition Perfume by Next. It has a really nice floaral and sweet scent that isnt over powering or sickly... its just right.

I did mention in another post that I bought the Nails Inc. polish in Big Apple Red. It is this real;ly classic festive nail polish that will go perfectly with the outfit I have picked out to wear on Christmas day. I have worn this a lot over the past few weeks. I was actually really impressed with the staying power of this polish. It lasted me 5 days and only came off because I was watching Catching Fire and was picking at my nail polish with anticipation!

The final product in my favourites this month is a foundation that I recently discovered. I was looking for a new foundation that was a lot lighter in consistency and would give me a flawless 'no foundation' look. The Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid foundation was worked a dream for me (see what I did there... dream!) I wont say too much as I am planning to do a review on it in the New Year!

So Who Is Taking Part In #bigblogmasproject??

#bigblogmasproject

Hey Peeps,

This is just a quick post to remind you all I will be taking part in #bigblogmasproject which means I will be blogging everyday in December. I am really nervous as my December Calendar is completely full and that is a little bit terrifying, but I am also so excited as it is a huge commitment but will hopefully get everyone in the Christmas spirit.

I will also be updating my header to make it all Christmassy so on December 1st I will put it up so you will be able to see it then. Some of you might be thinking it is really cheesy, but I am a huge fan of Christmas (as I am writing this I am currently listening to my Christmas playlist!) so I am doing it! As you can also see I have put up a little button so you can all see I am taking part in it!

Anyway here are all the people taking part in #bigblogmasproject:

Wednesday Word | Fear & Fate

Hey Peeps,

Quite often in high school boys and girls can be really judgemental of others and often judge people on what they wear, what they do and who they hang out with. I remember in year 7 I was really cautious about how I presented myself and always worried about what other people thought of me.

I remember I turned down many opportunities at the start of high school. I don't know why I didn't do them because they seemed so cool and I really wanted to do them but I was afraid that people would laugh and me and think I was a fool. But looking back, I was the fool for fearing what people thought of me. I wish now that I had done them but I have learnt to be afraid of what people think because at the end of the day its my life and my decision about what I do and don't want to do.

I am quite different to most people in my school. I am not a 'hipster', I don't coat my face in 3inches of foundation and taking is 'selfie' then posting it on instagram or Facebook is like my worst nightmare. I have come to accept that I am not, and don't want to be, like everyone else in my school. For example you probably know by now that I play the French Horn and I love playing in Orchestras, Wind bands and pretty much any group that will have me! I spend most evenings playing in a band, on a Friday night I play in the Youth Orchestra and m Hunt for Horn group for 4 hours. The on a Saturday morning I go to band from 9 until 11:30. I am okay being different.

Anyway the moral of this post is just to say it is your life and you shouldn't let any fear get in the way of your future. Make decisions and do things because you want to do them, and if they help shape and mould your future then great.

Gift Guide | For HER

Hey Peeps,

Here is the second post in my gift guide feature. I hope you found the last one helpful and today I am going to show you some really nice gift ideas for a special lady or girl in you life. These are middle of the road gifts (price wise) and I will be doing a gift guide for you BFF which will include more high end gifts around the £100 mark. Anyway here are the gifts I have selected to give to HER.

Nails Inc. Nail Polish Diary £42 - This is a bargain for 12 Nails Inc. polishes as they are usually £11 each! It is a really thoughtful gift to give to someone as they will get a lot of wear out of all the colours because there is something for everyone. I personally love the bright blue polish, it such a WOW colour and one I may need to buy...

L'Occitaine Indulgent Winter Essentials £25 (reduces from £50 but hurry as it may go!) - This is one of the cheapest gift in this collection but is not cheap in quality. I would say this gift is aimed for older women purely because there scents are more mature. I am thinking of getting this for my mum because I know she will appreciate this.

Naked 2 Pallete £32- This is a very flattering pallete that many women and girls have probably been lusting over for a long time; but have been secretly waiting for someone to buy it for them! It consists of 12 gorgeous (mainly shimmery) eyeshadows that are all neutral with a  few blues and greens thrown in there.

Ted Baker iPad Case £35- In my other gift guide I mentioned that pretty much everyone has an iPad so a sophisticated expensive case to protect there snazzy gadget is just what they need. This one is super classy and I love the glossy black colour and the really cute cream bow.

Jo Malone Pine and Eucalyptus Christmas Candle £39 - Again this is probably a gift for your mum or your gran as it is more of a mature gift. Jo Malone do such wonderful candles and I particularly love their Christmas scents. When they receive this gift they will be over the moon as it is one of those really luxurious gifts to receive as Jo Malone is so expensive.

Butter London Double Take Duo £15- So this is the cheapest gift today but if you are a nail polish junkie like me you will know how expensive these normally are. So for the price it is really good. I love how they give you two colours because without thinking you will know straight away what combination of nail polish to do around Christmas because they both complement each other really nicely!

Viva Rock 100ml Eau de Toilette £20 ( reduced from £61, so hurry as it might all go)-  The citrusy-flowery smell makes it totally appropriate for both day and night usage. The fragrance is very fresh, very young and very feminine! I would say this is aimed for at teenagers and people in their twenties and I for one would love to receive this. I love the pink and purple union jack theme and in case you don't know I am a sucker for anything "British" and "union jack" based...

Real Techniques Sam's Picks Brush Set £30- I am most excited for this post as it is just out and is the one gift I would love to receive most! Samantha Chapman has handpicked these brushes herself and they are also her best selling brushes.

Let me know which gift you like the best and also what gift you will be buying for that special HER in you life!

Winter Nail Polishes

Hey Peeps,

It finally has begun to feel like winter, so I have put away my autumnal colours and out the bad boys ready for the dark and cold days. In case you don't know my favourite nail polish brand is Nails Inc. as I find the quality is really good and the colour stays on my nails for ages. I didn't mean to choose all Nails Inc. products, but to me honest I don't have many wintry colours and the only ones I do have are Nails Inc. So lets find out who made it into my Winter Nail Polish collection this season:

Chester Place - A very vibrant red nail polish that looks like you classic red in the bottle, but comes out as a gorgeous red with bold pink undertones. It is a deeper colour; so only comes out now its Winter!
Belgrave Place- I did a NOTD post on this nail polish a while ago (click here to read). It is a dark blue polish that has a lot of purple undertones and depending what light you are in, the colour changes from blue to purple which I love. I wear this polish through the whole year, but mostly in November through to December.
New York Noir- I love this colour. It is your classic everyday simple and easy to wear black. I don't wear much black on my nails and am always admiring people who can pull it off so easily. I am going to make more of an effort to make this colour work on my ghostly white hands!
Chesham Street- For me this is the most exciting of the four. It is a metallic midnight blue with sparkly teal undertones running through. It's quite funny because I have about three bottles of nail polish all almost identical to each other in this shade. Yes... I am a nail polish junkie... what can I say?
I hope you have enjoyed this post and let me know in the comments which is your favourite polish from my selection and also what shades are in your winter nail polish collections!

Wednesday Word | Sometimes

Hey Peeps,

I can't believe this is my tenth Wednesday Word. That means there are only 5 left... but on the up side it means only 5 weeks until Christmas YAY!

I think that everything happens for a reason; whether that be as a reward, to make us happy, to teach us a valuable lesson to help us grow up. I may not think so at the time but when I reflect on situations in my life , even the really really bad ones, I can see how they have helped shape who I am today. Usually when something bad happens we can learn from the situation and we come out a better person. Next time you are going through a rough chapter in your life, try to remember that you cant always win and this might just be one of those crucial moments in your life where you learn a really valid and important life lesson.

Okay... that got very deep very quickly! I would really like it if you would leave some quotes or ideas for future Wednesday Words (we only have 5 left :/) and share in the comments any experiences where you have learnt a good lesson from it!
