Wednesday Word | Sparkle

Hey Peeps,

I am really pleased with the all the positivity these posts are generating in the comments and on my twitter account. I didn't intend for this to be a tag, but if you want to do a Wednesday Word post on you blog, either weekly monthly or just as a one off, then please feel free and it is great to read posts that are so helpful and full of advise. Let me know in the comments or on twitter if you are going to have a go as I would love to read some of the posts you come up with.

 

Anyway today I have a bit more of a girly quote for you today.'Don't let anyone ever dull your sparkle'. The way I look at this is that if you are good at something get out there are show everyone you are amazing at it (without boasting obviously). Having a talent is a very special thing and you should always strive to be the very best. In life you will come across people who will put you down for being good at something all because they are jealousy of you. It happens a lot in schools. When you get a bully picking on someone it is usually because they want to be as clever and confidant as the victim; this isn't right. Also for those of you who are Gossip Girl fans then you will understand this (if you are not, don't worry) but Blair had always been jealous of Serena and so Serena used to hide part of herself and take a back seat so that Blair would feel better about herself and that isn't right. You shouldn't let yourself or others dull your sparkle, you should shine as brightly as you possibly can.

 

So if you have people (or in the future come across people) who are trying to/do dull your sparkle for whatever reason then say something to them, without hurting their feelings. Because it is your life and you need to live it to the full!

The Daily Smooth Body Butter | Review

Hey Peeps,

So I am on holiday for a week now, yay! I am determined to concentrate on getting loads of posts written this week as when I go back to school, homework and course work has to (unfortunately) take priority. If it was up to me I would write three blog posts everyday when I got home from school, but that just isn't possible with my busy schedule. I know I have been a bit slack on the beauty posts but I have lots of them lined up so stick around for more! Anyway onto the review...

I am a huge fan of Soap and Glory. All their products smell so good I could eat them. My favourite scent is 'mist you madly' which is the scent of this body butter and is why I think I like it so much over the others. Don't you think that Soap and Glory's packaging is always really pretty? They all seems to have a girly vintage feel, and any of their products look great displayed in you bedroom or bathroom! 

When applied onto the skin it looks really thick but when you start to rub it in it feels smooth and the consistency was thinner than I expected it. It's hard to describe but the scent is really subtly sweet and sugary and is the same as the mist you madly body spray. I use this in the evening when I am having a little pamper sessions as it is an intense moisturiser and perfect for when you want to spoil yourself. It skins into my skin reasonably quickly and come morning I can still smell it on my skin!

I am happy to pay £8.50 for this body butter because it is very reasonable for an essential luxurious pamper item. When I run out I will definitely be repurchasing this! Have you tried this product? If so what do you think of it? What are you favourite Soap and Glory Products?

Hey Peeps,

I was looking through some of the pictures on my cameras memory stick and came across some pictures I took when I went to Holmfirth's Food and Drink Festival. We had a splendid time, it was the last weekend in September and the sun made a warm appearance that day, so the festival did well as loads of people from around Yorkshire came to enjoy all the yummy food and drinks that were available!

Wednesday Word | Proud

 

 

Hey Peeps,

It is Wednesday again so I am here with another Wednesday Word! Today is a quote that I think is person (not just for me but for everyone), Make yourself proud. There is a fine line between being proud of yourself and boasting. Quite a lot of the time people choose not to be proud of themselves, especially in public, as they are afraid they will come across as boasting. But let me tell you this, being proud of your self it good! It boosts your self esteems and self belief.

 

Also in life, I make choices to please other people and do things that I don't really want to do just to  make another person happy or proud. But really I should be making decisions in life to do things that in the future I will be proud of myself for doing. For example, I am not like most girls in my school; I don't wear short skirts, don't have a bright orange face and don't get involved in all the gossip and scandal (which mainly comes from Facebook) and you know what, I am proud of myself for choosing to be true to me and not go along with everyone else just because it seems like the 'cool' things to do. I have mentioned previously on my blog that I play the French Horn. It is a beautiful lyrical instrument that I am pleased to say I am quite good at. I play a lot of orchestral music and despite the comments I get from people, I really enjoy it. I am proud to say that I like playing orchestral music on my French Horn and it feels good to do something because I want to do it and am proud to turn round to people and say "you know what, I do this and I am proud to do it!"

New Design...

Hey Peeps,

Sorry for the lack of posts recently. My schedule has been pretty full over the past few days but next week is half term so I will have chance to catch up on blogging. I have been feeling a bit bored of my blog design so decided to just create something new and fresh. I have kept it quite simple and just given it a bit of clean, especially my side bar which was getting very cluttered. Just to let you know I have moved the blog buttons to my Button Swap page as it was getting way to cluttered and thought it would be best for them to have a separate page. If you would like to do a button swap leave me a comment or send me a tweet.

 

Anyway back to the new design... please let me know what you think of it and if there is anything you think I should do to improve it. I would also really appreciate it if you would leave honest and constructive criticism as I am all for getting better and improving but I need your help to do that!

Halloween On PicMonkey | #Bloggoween

Hey Peeps,

 

So I am taking part in #Bloggoween today as it is about a week now until Halloween! What are you all doing for Halloween? On the 30th I am going to a Halloween party at my friends house and then on 31st I am thinking of going on a ghost walk in York! Although I haven't still decided what I am dressing up as :/

 

Whilst editing some blog photos, I came across some new Halloween features on Picmonkey. I LOVE Picmonkey. It's free, easy to use and my pictures look really good when I use it. I was excited to see these new features, so I had a little play with what was on offer. Here are some of the photos I created!

 

1. Open up a picture of yourself (or someone else!!) in the edit a photo

2. In the sidebar click on the cartoon pumpkin

3. Choose a theme of your choice

4. Get creative!!
