Summer Nails Polishes 2013

Hey Peeps,
As most of you have guessed by now I am a bit of a nail polish hoarder. Every time I got out shopping I nearly always buy some nail polishes, whoops!! I just can't help, it is as if the bottles of nail polish are saying "pretty please buy me!" How can you not bring them home??? Anyhoo, I know it is the start of September tomorrow but Autumn doesn't start until 22nd September so I still have plenty of time to carry on wearing my summer nail polishes and I wanted to share my top 3 that have been on my nails all summer.

#3
In third place is Barry M's Mint Green. A while ago I hated the idea of green on my nails, but I stepped outside of my comfort zone and bought a green nail polish and I have to say I am glad  did because this is such a pretty summer colour. And surprisingly it is actually very flattering on my pale skin. For £2.99 it is great value for money.

#2
Next up is a polish from essence called 'off to Miami!' what a cool name, it makes me want to go on holiday when I wear this colour. I don't own anything else from essence so when buying it I was a bit hasty but because it was £1.99 (on offer), I thought why not. In the bottle it looks like a pink coral but on my nails it is more of a orange coral, which I don't mind as I am actually a big fan of orange nail polish.
#1
My winner is without a doubt one of the best nail polishes I have ever tried. It is the Topshop nail polish in Celestial. This is the prettiest blue colour and normally I can get away with just one coat which is great. I find it's lasting power great and I can usually get between 4-5 days out of it ( I may be bale to get more but I don't keep it on for more than 5 days as I get bored and want a different colour!).
What nail polishes have you been loving this summer?

Babbles With Becca | Friday

Hey Peeps,

Sometimes when I come to sit down at my laptop and want to write a blog post, I have no inspiration and sometimes all I want to do is just write down everything that I am feeling and that is going on around me in my life. So I have created this series called 'Babbles With Becca' where on any day of the week I can just write whatever is going on in my life and not have to plan a post. I can just write. So here goes...
  • I have spent the last few days re-organising my bedroom and I am now sharing a study with my sister down stairs, so I may do a what's on my desk kind of post in the Autumn.
  • This summer I have been to the market near us quite a few times and I think they are amazing. The prices  are so good there and at the market they sell everything from fruit and veg to makeup and cosmetics to curtains and blinds. I have recently bought quite a few things from there and I even picked up some stationary for school.
  • I am a huge tea drinker and I bought some Green Tea but haven't tried it yet because I am afraid it won't be as nice as real tea :/
  • It is my sisters birthday tomorrow and for the first time I have bought a present for her with my own money, look at me getting all mature and stuff!
  • I am absolutely loving this quote at the moment "A head full of fears has no space for dreams" I am the stage in life when I am going to start making choices that will affect me later on in life and I don't want to be afraid to do things if it will affect my dreams in the future ( sorry that just got a bit deep, oh well!)

Let me know what you think of this.

My Trip Beyond The Irish Sea | Part Two

Hey Peeps,

How are you all doing today? I never ask how you all are but from now on I will try to remember to ask :) Anyhoo, as you have probably guessed from the title here is part two of the holiday snaps!
Whilst in Dublin we decided to do a tour of Dublin on the open top Hop-On Hop-Off buses. A few years ago I did this in London and absolutely loved it, it is such a great way to see the whole of the city. From up high you have a great view of everything and as you go around the tour guide is talking and tells you lots of interesting information.

In Dublin on nearly every street there is a pub with that sells Guinness and I have got lots of pictures with Guinness signs and barrels. The picture of a factory is actually the Guinness factory and it is the top attraction in Ireland. We were going to go but as I cannot drink alcohol I want to go when I will actually be able to taste the Guinness!!

What intrigued me most was a building that was covered in amazing graffiti. I don't like graffiti as I think it is very chavy, looks awful and is vandalism. But I couldn't get over how phenomenal this graffiti was. It is so artistic and creative!

I have more pictures lined up from my tour in Dublin, but there were too many to all go on one post!!

Confessions Of A Beauty Blogger!

Hey Peeps,

A few days ago I was tagged by the lovely Lou from Bluebird to do the Confessions of a beauty blogger tag. This is a new tag for me as I haven't read this tag anywhere before, but it looks really interesting so I am excited to get started.

How many hours a week do you spend writing/editing posts? Well to be honest it varies, altogether I would say about 6-8 hours a week depending on how many posts I am doing, the length of the content and how many pictures are needed.

Are you a spender or a saver? I would like to think that I was a saver, but I am afraid that I do spend most of my money straight away :/ I wish I could saver it but I always end up spending it.

When is it easier for you to blog? I blog best when I am in my pyjamas, with a cup of tea, music playing and I am all alone. I find I am easily distracted when people are around me so I don't get anything finished.

What makes writing behind a computer comfortable for you? From a young age I have always loved to write, so for me writing is like a second nature and that is what makes it so comfortable for me to sit in front of a computer screen and share with you everything I love and enjoy! (Cheesy, I know!!)

What is your worst makeup/hair habit?

What is one quote you wished the world lived by?

How long do you spend getting ready everyday? It can be anywhere between 30 minuets to an hour because I have quite a long skincare routine and my makeup can take at least 10 minuets, also my hair is like a lions mane in the morning so it can take some time to tame it down :)

Who's your favourite blogger? This is a no brainer for me as it would have to be SprinkleofGlitter. She is such an amazing person as well as having a brilliant blog.  I would highly recommend having a look at her blog and YouTube channel.

Who is a blogger that you think deserves more subscribers than they already have? Lucy from LovesofLucy is such a genuine person with an excellent blog and I think she will be as big as Zoella or Tanya Burr in a few years time!

What are you excited about in the upcoming year? In 2014 I want to step outside my comfort zone more and make the effort to try and say yes to new experiences.

What is your most awkward blogging moment? I haven't had any awkward moments on my blog yet, but I am sure there will be lots in the future.

How long does it take for you to prepare a post? It can be anything from 1-3 hours, but as I am quite fast at typing it is usually an hour.

Are you wearing trousers now or jogging pant/PJ bottoms? I am in my PJ bottoms at the moment because they are the most comfiest to type in.

What are you most proud of in life? I am extremely proud of playing my musical instrument and being in the Youth Orchestra, but my blog is my baby and I am immensely proud of it.

Beautiful bloggers I tag:
LovesofLucy
The Girl With A Camera
Olivia Rose's UK Style and Beauty Blog
The Emerald Dove
A Life With Sparkles
Merilinzz

Whoo, that was a long tag! Thank you again to Lou for tagging me to do this. Please go over to her blog and subscribe to read her amazing posts!

Rocky Road Chocolate Muffins

Well hello there everyone,

As the summer holidays slowly come to an end I have been wanting to as much as I can each day while I have the free time and one of the things I have been occupying my time with is baking. These muffins are the best chocolate muffins I have ever tasted so I thought they deserved to be shared with you. It is a really easy and simple recipe with a delicious outcome...

Ingredients
6 tbsp. sunflower oil
225g plain flower
55g cocoa powder
1 tbsp. baking powder
pinch of salt
115g caster sugar
100g white chocolate chips
50g white mini marshmallows cut in half
2 eggs
250ml milk
Method
1.  Grease a 12 hole muffin tin. Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt into a large mixing bowl. Stir in the sugar, chocolate chips and marshmallows.
2. Lightly beat the eggs in a large jug and then beat in the milk and oil. Make a well in the centre of the fry ingredients and pour in the beaten liquid. Stir gently until combined, do not over mix. Spoon the batter into the muffin tin.
3. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees Celsius/ 400 degrees Celsius/ gas make 6 for 20 minuets. Leave to cool for 5 minuets. Serve warm or transfer onto a wire to cool fully.
I hope you give these scrummy muffins a go. They are super easy to make and only take about 10 minuets to prepare!

Review | New CID Eyes, Lips & Cheeks Palette

Hey Peeps,

"What has happened to all the beauty posts" I hear you ask, well I am sorry for not posting anything beauty related recently but there have been lots of non-beauty related posts on my to do list and I really wanted to get those done. But I am back with lots of beauty posts lined up, so lets get cracking with this post...

This is one of the palettes that I bought that had multiple types of makeup all in one place (which I find very convenient). I got this palette for £12 and in various shops and online sites you can find it for around the £10 mark. When I first got this palette I didn't realise how much of a bargain it was, and for everything you get in the palette it is definitely a steal! As you can see my palette is well loved, and as much as I have tried to clean it completely not all the excess makeup will come off, so please try to imagine the product without the bits of excess makeup :/

The packaging is made from white cardboard which I think is good because after much use the structure of the palette is still strong and hasn't broken or got damaged. The palette includes 4 eye shadows and they are a whopping 5.4g which I think for a palette eyeshadow is amazing. There are 3 shimmery colours and a matte brown. The palette also comes with a brush which quite frankly lets the palette down, if they didn't include the brush then I wouldn't be able to fault the palette. Also there are 2 lipsticks (on the left) and 1 lip-gloss (on the right). My favourite product in the palette is the blush. I am a huge fan of blusher as I think it adds so much to the face when you apply it. Something about the colour really complements my skin tone and this is the product I use most from the palette.

The eye shadows don’t have names but I would describe them from L-R as: cream/ivory shimmer,
taupe shimmer, deep brown shimmer and a soft chocolate matte shade. Even though this palette comes across as quite natural, you can use the eye shadows for a natural everyday look or you can create a dramatic smoky eye look because the eye shadows are smooth, pigmented and very blend able. The lipsticks/glosses have a nice consistency and the shades look lovely on my lips. Also the blush gives you a cute soft pink healthy glow which is perfect for summer.

The packaging can be a bit bulky if you are planning to take it away with you, but I do love having everything in one place and on Monday mornings it is great as you don't have to think about colours that will go together because all the products in this palette complement each other!

I would recommend you check this product out and it is a really gift for a friend or relative!

Fit For A Prince | "Normal" Family Photographs

Hey Peeps,

Today I am back carry on with my Fit For A Prince series since on Monday 19th August the official photographs of Prince George and his family were released.  For weeks now royal reporters have been anxiously waiting for the release of more photographs of the baby. I am not afraid to admit that I too have been on edge and excited to see the baby again. Since being born, Prince George has spent his first few weeks Bucklebury at Grandma and Grandpa Middleton’s house, his official residence at Kensington Palace and at the Cambridge’s charming farmhouse in Anglesey.

When I first saw the photos I thought "what a normal family" and if you were to look at the photo and not know that is was the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge then like me you would probably think the photo was of a normal everyday family with a baby and 2 dogs. But William and Kate are not normal in fact they are far from it. William is a Prince and third in line to the throne, whilst Kate is a Duchess and a constant spotlight in the media. I really admire the way they are trying to provide a normal home environment for their new baby.

Now onto the photograph its self. There was huge speculation about who would actually take the photograph. Some thought the Queen herself would do the honours as she is a fan of photography (how cool would it have been if the queen had taken the photograph, that would be one cool great-grandma!!) and some thought that Kate would take a few of the baby and William as Kate loves taking photographs. But I was shocked and pleased when it was announced that Kate's dad (Georges Granddad) took the photographs. This symbolises that they want to be just like any other family, which is great.

The couple look relaxed and are sitting on the lawn with bright sunlight and the garden behind them, while William has one arm around his wife and the other around Lupo and if you look closely you can see a golden retriever lying down beside Kate.

What are your thoughts and feelings on the new photographs?

My Trip Beyond The Irish Sea | Part One

Hey Peeps,

Here is a scrapbook of photographs that I took of my holiday in Ireland. I am showing the pictures in three parts and here is part one!

The first two images are on the ferry, the first one is of the sea and the trail the ferry leaves in the water.  The second is actually of my sister and I on the ferry coming home but I wanted to show you it now. The rest of the photographs are of a little town called Kells in Mullingar near where Niall Horan is from (queue the screaming!!). We have a family holiday house there and whist in Irealnd that was our base. I love Kells as it has so much character and on ever street you can find something cute and one of a kind.
I hope you enjoyed these pictures! I would love to know where you have all gone on your holidays and where you are planning to go!
