July Favourites

Well hello everyone,

It is that time of the month again where I share with you the products that I have been loving. First of all I have been loving Nivea's Protect and Bronze sun cream. For those of you who live in the UK, will know that over the past we few weeks the sun made a glorious appearance and we sort of had a 'heat wave'. I have extremely fair skin, so this sun cream was my little life saver as it protected me from getting burnt but also it helped my skin to tan a little bit so I looked like I had a sun kissed glow rather than looking like a white sheep!

My Liz Earle cleanse and polish bottle is quite big to take with me every time I go away, so my mum gave me the Gatineau Refreshing Cleansing Cream, which claim to cleanse and tone your skin. I have been loving this product and I used it when I went to Birmingham at the weekend. What I love most is that it is a great size for your travel cosmetics bag, with a decent amount of product inside. It really annoys me when you bring travel size products that 'take the mic' with the amount of product inside them and halfway through the trip you run out.

Last summer in Italy, I found a new makeup brand, KIKO, and I wanted to try one of their products as they were all very vibrant and colourful. This little beautiful nail polish, No.284, caught my eye. However after my holiday I forgot about it, but a few weeks ago I found it again and I gave it the love it deserved. I have worn this nail polish a few times this month and I am in love with the colour. It is a perfect fun summery colour for this time of the year.

Next up is actually something I was given in a goodie bag I got for my birthday. My auntie gave me the Blistex Lip Brilliance. The range specialises in lip care and I can tell you now my lips feels healthier and more hydrated after using this for a while. It is a pink shimmery metallic colour that feels like a lip balm on the lips but looks like a lip gloss. The best part is the smell, it smells like sugary sweeties you used to have when you were a kid and it tastes amazing as well.

Last but not least is the Bobbie Brown Nude On Nude Eye Pallet. Inside it has 5 neutral colours, the first is called Bone and is a warm highlighter, next is a light grey called Cement and a light brown called Malted which both look good all over the lid. The there is another muted brown colour called Wheat which I like to use in the corner of my eyes and finally there is back shadow called Espresso which I either use as a liner or in the crease of my lid to add definition. All of these shades are really pretty neutral colours that can be worn on a day to day basis and I wear them all the time.

My random favourite this month is Carly Rae Jepson's new album KISS. It is a really girly poppy album that I have been listening to all the time and all the songs are perfect for summer!

Let me know what products you have been loving this month.

June-July | Collective Haul

Hey Peeps,

Over the past 2 months I haven't been on a big shopping spree, but I have bought the odd thing here and there. So here the little things that I have picked up recently.

Firstly, and the only two beauty items I bought, in Body Shop I bought the Nivea BB Cream and Palmer's Natural Bronze Body Lotion. As far as first impressions go, I am really liking both these products and if I get on well with them in the future I might do reviews on them.

Next, whilst I was at the market, I spotted this cute purse. I know it is a copy of something like Cath Kidston, but it was on £1.99 and as some of you may know I am a huge sicker for anything to do with Britain and London. I couldn't just leave it there on the stall so I had to get it. It may be really rubbish quality but it looked to good to not buy.  In Tesco I found these pastel blue jeans. Now I have been looking for a pair of pale pastel jeans and these were perfect. The only problem was that the changing rooms were shut because it was after 8pm, so I was hesitant about buying them because they may not fit. But I bought them and I am really glad I did because they are a perfect fit.
Yesterday we went shopping for school shoes and I got some from Clarks. I have very wide feet so I find finding school shoes very hard. So since year 7 I have worn the same style but every year I just buy a new pair.

In the town next to where I live, there is a little boutique called 'Jacks' and they sell clothes from all the top brands such as Hollister, Superdry and Jack Wills. We popped in there to have a look and I was surprised when I realised that everything in the shop was half price the already reduced price on the tag.  This Superdry top was originally £40, reduced to £20 and then I got it for £10. It was definitely my bargain of the month!! I love this shirt because it is a really nice burgundy colour, which I find suits me well because of my brunette hair, and I love the mint green writing on the shirt.

I went to pick up my glasses on Saturday, I will be doing a post about my new glasses, and opposite Boots Opticians is Claire's. I just went to have a look inside and I found a neon peach glasses case that was reduced to £3. I was so excited I had found it. When I was at the till buying it the lady told me that if you buy and three sale items you can get them for £5. So I  picked up another case in neon yellow and then my sister got a little makeup bag. Again, another great bargain.

Hope you enjoyed this post!!

Fit For a Prince | Baby Boy Clothes

Hey Peeps,

The Duchess of Cambridge is a huge fashion icon, probably the biggest British female icon. She is always being photographed every time she leaves the house or goes to an event. Within seconds of her wearing an outfit it can be sold out in shops and online. So it is without a doubt that everyone will be keeping a close eye on what the Prince is wearing in the coming months and years. But for now I have found a few outfits that I think are adorable and would be perfect for a future King.

Fit For A Prince | Royal Maternity Style

Hey Peeps,

Ever since day one Kate Middleton has been a huge style icon and since the announcement of her pregnancy, every outfit she has worn has been reported and loved by everyone. I don't know how she has done it, but she has made a baby bump look elegant and sophisticated. Hats off to her she has kept up her iconic fashion sense throughout her pregnancy. She has even been crowned the best-dressed pregnant celebrity, beating Kim Kardashian, Kate Winslet, model Caprice and Fergie to the top. Here is a little lookbook of my favourite maternity outfits the Duchess of Cambridge has worn.

8 Weeks | Well now the secret is out and here is the first time we see Kate and Will after the announcement of their pregnancy.  After being in hospital, we see her in a rare pair of flats, Russell & Bromley’s Pin Up boots, £295, and a classic check Diane von Furstenberg coat, £570.

19 Weeks | This £298 MaxMara dress is ideal for her small bump as she enters the forth month of her pregnancy. The V-neck is flattering on her and the wrap pulls her in at the waist which starts  to widen in  the second trimester.

23 Weeks | Kate had recently been on a shopping spree to Topshop and she is wearing their £46 peter pan dress when she visits a children's charity. She pairs that with Goat ‘Redgrave’ coat, £560, and Annoushka pearl and diamond earrings, £1,090. It is such a simple and classy ensemble and my favourite part is the little cream collar poking out from the coat.

27 Weeks | This is the first time that the royal baby bump is really visible and here at the Scouts Parade at Windsor Castle she is wearing a this £1,750 Mulberry dress coat. I really like this coat as it short- so is shows a bit of leg- and the flower detailed golden buttons to fasten the coat.

28 Weeks | This has to be one of my favourite outfit that the Duchess has worn while she was pregnant.I am a huge sucker for fifties and sixties styled dresses and also because it is a pastel colour. This gets a huge thumbs up from me! She wore this went she went to visit to the Art Room at the National Portrait Gallery wearing an Emilia Wickstead frock, £1,450, with Rupert Sanderson grey suede pumps, £450, and Kiki McDonough diamond and green amethyst earrings, £1,900.

28 Weeks | At the Warner Bros Studio Kate wows the crowd rocking another high street look. This time she is wearing a black and white polka dot dress from Topshop £38 and a Ralph Lauren Jacket, £350.

30 Weeks | On her second wedding anniversary Kate is looking pretty in peach as she visits Naomi House Children’s Hospice. She wears a pretty a Tara Jarmon peach coat, £340, and a frock by her own dressmaker.  she also wears LK Bennett Sledge courts, £195, and holds their Avona clutch, £19. I love how she wears items that are from the high-street so that they are accessible to everyone and it shows that she is more down to earth. On this occasion her hair is curled into ringlets and I really like she is experimenting with different hairstyles.

32 Weeks | Kate is looking lovely in lemon in this photo and you can see her radiant glow of pregnancy shining through as Kate steps out at a Buckingham Palace garden party in a sunshine yellow Emilia Wickstead Marella coat, £1,285. Towering £165 Russell & Bromley heels, with their 5th Ave clutch., £185 and a Jane Corbett hat, £450.

35 Weeks | This is the Duchess of Cambridge final public appearance, before giving birth to her son, at Trooping the Colour. She is wearing a £2,000 coat and £830 clutch by Alexander McQueen, a Jane Corbett hat, £500, and Annoushka earrings, £1,090. I think this is a really pretty yet simple outfit that really follows the motto 'less is more'
This outfit almost made me wonder was the baby going to be a girl :/

Fit For A Prince | Baby Shower

Hey Peeps,

We know that Kate had the first ever royal baby shower in celebration of her baby. Her sister Pippa Middleton, who is London's top event planner, planned to whole event for her sister. A friend of the Duchess of Cambridge told the Sun "It isn't a royal tradition but Kate isn't a traditional Royal" This is true, but in my opinion I think it is great that Kate isn't traditional all the time and feels free to do things her own way. The cake was made by her brother James Middleton and there were goodies bags including products from Jo Malone and The White Company. We also know that it was held at the Middleton's Berkshire family home.

I went to a baby shower last weekend for a family friend who is having a baby boy in September. It was a beautiful sunny day and a ;lovely baby shower. Before then I had never been to a baby shower, if I am honest I always thought it was a very American thing. But after going to one I think it is a great way to celebrate the mother and the baby.

When we arrived they had started playing a game where everyone was given a drink with an ice-cube inside that had a baby boy frozen inside. The first person whose ice cube melted had to shout "my waters have broken". It was a silly game that was good fun. For the next game you were given a piece of paper with a  space to write when you the baby will be born and how heavy it will be. It was actually harder than I thought, because there was no strategy to getting it right because the baby will come when its ready :)

The last game was my favourite. We were given a sheet of paper with had all the letters of the alphabet and next to each letter we had to write a word associated with babies, childhood, pregnancy or anything along those lines. The mother-to-be also filled in the sheet and the winners were the ones with as many answers that matched the mother-to-be's. My sister and I won as we had the most answers that matched, 11 to be precise.

We had a wonderful time and here are a few pictures from the day:

The Auntie of the baby boy created a nappy cake as a present for her sister. It was very clever as it was designed as a three layered cake and used baskets to make each layer. Each layer was filled with nappies along with goodies hidden inside such as powder milk, Johnson's products and Sudocrem.

Fit For A Prince: A Royal Baby

Hey Peeps,

Over the next few days I am going to do a series of posts that will be called 'Fit For a Prince' and they will all be related to the royal baby.

If you have been anywhere near a TV, computer mobile or radio lately then you will know that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. Will and Kate have very cleverly left the world speculating about the name of the young Prince. What we do know is that his title will be HRH Prince (name) of Cambridge. Kate went into labour in the early hours of Monday morning and gave birth to her baby at 4:24pm. They managed to keep the birth to themselves for a few hours before announcing to the world the birth at 8.30pm. Following tradition they put up a piece of paper outside Buckingham Palace with announced the birth and said that mother and baby were doing well. They then spent the night at St. Mary's Hospital

Mother, father and baby left the Lindo Wing at 7.15pm. Before leaving they went out onto the steps to show the world the third Heir to the throne, while posing for photographs and speaking to the press. William said to the press they were "working on a name" and they would choose one "as soon as we can".  When asked if the name would be George they simply replied saying "wait and see".  My money is on George. I think it is a lovely name and would suit a future King.

Some royal fashion followers, like myself, were quick to spot the resemblance between Kate's dress when she left the hospital with her baby and the dress Dianna wore when she left the hospital with William as a baby. The Duchess of Cambridge wore a pale blue spotty Jenny Packham dress  and 31 years ago Williams mother wore a pale green spotty dress.

They then returned inside the hospital and came out a few minuets later with the prince in a car seat/baby carrier and Will put his on into the car. I was very impressed that Will managed to strap the baby into the car in one attempt with millions of people watching. It took my dad many attempts before got the hang of putting me in the car. I think he had been practising!! The cutest thing was when the baby was safely strapped in, Kate sat in the back next the Prince and was lent over the carrier playing with her baby and talking to it. I think both William and Kate will make wonderful parents.

The Skincare Tag

Hey Peeps,

So I saw that Makeup Savvy has done this tag on her blog and at the end she tagged all her readers to have a go. I haven't really covered much about my skincare routine on my blog, but hopefully this tag should give you an inside into my skincare routine.

Describe your skincare routine in 5 words.
Quick, hydrating, simple, nourishing and cleansing

What is your skin type?
Normal to dry

What is your favourite skincare product?
Ok I know this product is raved about all the time, but I would be lost without the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser. When I was about 9 or 10 I began to get really oily and spotty skin. It was really bad and the only thing I could use was this product.

Top blemish zapper.
I swear by the Liz Earle Spot On. It is a fab spot zapper that gets rid of the biggest spots in a matter of hours. But sad news guys, it has been discontinued and I have the smidge-iest drop left for those really bad spots that I am saving it for :(

Face wipes, Yay or Nay?
I have to say I am a big believer of cleansing your face twice a day. I strongly disagree with using face wipes as I find my face never feels 'clean' after using them. However when I am extremely tired at night I will use them, but I only use them on rare occasions.

Toner, Yay or Nay?
Everyday I try to use my Liz Earle Instant Boost toner twice a day. I find some toners can be tight and uncomfortable on my face. But this one calms and sooths my face. It is so gentle, I love it.

High end skincare or high end make up?
I think good skin is so important. Because if you have bad skin then your makeup won't sit nicely on your face. There is loads of affordable makeup in the high street shops that will make you makeup look flawless. But I think the skincare range isn't great in the high street shops. So I always think paying that bit extra for high end skincare products is better in the long run and hopefully it will help you skin to benefit.

What is the most unusual skincare product you have tried?
I have to confess a few years ago I found a skincare routine that works wonder for me and since then I haven't had the courage to shake it up because I don't want to effect the good condition my skin is in. As a result I haven't been trying anything new so I don't have a most unusual skincare product... sorry guys.

You are in a French Pharmacy and you can only pick up one item- what is it?
Well the only thing I know you can buy in a French pharmacy is Bioderma. So I would either get that or have a browse and buy anything that caught my eye.

Tell us your top skincare tip.
'Cleanse, tone and moisturise twice a day, every day for healthy-looking, beautiful skin.'
This is what Liz Earle recommends and I swear by it. I try to do this everyday and I think it is the key secret to beautiful skin.

I hope you have enjoyed this tag. Just to let you know I am not sponsored by Liz Earle, they are simply my favourite skincare brand, and all opinions are my own. If you would like to see my skincare routine let me know in the comments.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer | Review

Hey Peeps,

A few days ago I picked up this little gem and thought I would tell you why I love this concealer so much. It seems as though every girl out there, beauty blogger or not, has this product and many beauty bloggers swear by it and claim it's far better than some high end concealers.

I managed to pick this concealer up for £4.19 which ,for a good concealer that covers up blemishes, is a bargain in my books. The shade I picked up was Light 2. For a while I was 'oohhing' and 'aahhhing' about getting this concealer but I am really glad I bought it as I have been super excited to try this and overall I am happy with this product.

This product claims that is promises all of the below:
Ultimate wear concealer conceals flaws, imperfections and blemishes for up to 16 hours
Transfer proof and water resistant for full and long lasting coverage
Provides beautiful, shine-free, blemish-free skin for every waking hour

I mostly agree with this, however I disagree with it stating it lasts for 16 hours. Personally I think it lasts for more like 10 hours. The consistency of this product is thick and creamy, which I really like as I feel it covers my blemishes really well and the doe foot applicator is a great feature as it more hygienic than applying it to the back of your hand. What I love about this concealer is how versatile it is it can be used for under my eyes, around my nose and on any blemishes Also it provides great full coverage without looking cakey. It also blends really well and I like using the doe foot applicator.

What I dislike most about the product is that the packaging is very poor and rubs off easily. I had the concealer in my make-up bag for 2 days when it began to rub off.  But other than that I would recommend trying this concealer if you haven't already.

P.S Please excuse my incredibly chipped nail polish :/...
