Get To Know Me: The Beauty Blogger Tag

Images from We Hear It- No content is mine.

Hey Peeps,

So the lovely Maddie from alifewithsparkles.blogspot.com has tagged me to do The Beauty Blogger Tag. Please had over to her amazing blog and follow her; you will not regret it :) I am super excited to do this tag for you. So lets get started...

Is your hair naturally curly or straight?
My hair is naturally curly and I will sometime apply a curling/volumizing mouse to enhance my curls. But when I just waft it dry with my hair dryer and do nothing then it goes very thick and wavy.

Do you dye your hair yourself or go to a salon?
I actually don't dye my hair but if I were too then I would defiantly go to a salon because I would be worried that I would make a mistake and then who knows I may end up with green hair :/

Do you wear the same style everyday or do you change it?
Most days at school I wear my hair in a messy bun or a ponytail just because it is quick and easy to do in a morning. My hair is mega thick and for me to wash, dry, straighten and style my hair in a morning everyday would just take way to long. But sometimes or at the weekend I do like to wear my hair down and be adventurous with styles.

Do you do your own Mani/pedi or do you go to the salon?
If you have read my previous blog posts then you will know that I love to paint my nails and find it really relaxing so I would do my own Mani/pedi.

Do you polish your toes in the winter or just in the summer?
I only polish them in the summer as I never show my feet in winter so I don't see the point.

How long does it take for you to put on makeup?
If I am just doing my everyday makeup then it normally takes me about 15 minuets.

What do you do first, Face or Eyes?
I do my face first as I like to have smooth clear skin before I apply my eye makeup.

Do you 'collect' makeup or just buy it when you need it?
I just buy it when I need it really. I mean who needs 4 foundations in a month?

How often do you wear false eyelashes?
Never. The idea of them scares me, if i had them on I bet that I would think that I had feathers on the end of my eyes.

Do you wear makeup everyday?
I don't wear a full face of makeup everyday but I do like to wear at least concealer and mascara everyday!

Do you wear makeup when you are home alone or with family?
It depends really on my mood.

Will you leave the house without makeup?
Yes, but it depends where i am going :)

How many High-End products do you have?
Quite a few: I have  a lot of Laura Geller and Benefit

Do you plan your OOFT every night or decide when you are getting dressed?
I usually decide in the morning when I am staring at my wardrobe thinking what do I wear today?

How often do you change your handbag?
Not very often, I like to use the same one.

What time do you wake up and go to sleep?
I go to sleep at about 10:30pm and wake up around 7am.

How often or when do you do your workout?
To be honest I don't really do much exercise... I know I should do more. But I do do my weekly 2 hours of PE.

Are you left handed or right handed?
Right.

How tall are you?
5"2

Do you speak any foreign languages?
At school I am learning French and Spanish and in the future  want to learn Italian.

How many pets do you have?
I don't have any pets as I am not a huge animal lover. But a couple of years ago my sister and I had 2 goldfish, but my fish ate my sisters and then my fish died because it was a greedy goldfish.

How often are you on blogger?
Well I do try to blog nearly every day and when I am not blogging I am either reading someones else's blog or just keeping an eye on my blog :)

Do you read comments on blogs?
Sometimes if I am posting a comment on another blog I will have a look at what other people have said. but normally I will just the comments on my blog.

Do you keep a list of products to try as you see other products?
Not really, I just keep a mental note. However sometimes i will note a few down in my phone.

How did you come up with your blog name?
I was just playing around with the word beauty and my name and at first I came up with MissBeccaBarnes, but later I changed it to MissBeccaBeauty.

What kind of camera do you use for your photos?
Recently I have been using an Iphone, but I am hoping to get a better camera soon.

How often do you clean your house?
Well I live with my parents so I help out with cleaning when I am needed to :)

What is your favourite colour?
Purple

Do you swear?
Never

What are you doing with the rest of your day?
I am going to write a few more blogposts and then edit some pictures.
I may also have a little pamper session later on this evening.

Wowzza, what a long tag! I tag anyone reading to do the Beauty Blogger Tag.
I hope you have enjoyed this post and that you have learnt a bit more about me.

Bargain Of The Month

Hey Peeps,

April has nearly disappeared but before it does I thought I would share with you my bargain of the month!

This month I have been loving Nivea's Refreshing Soft Moisturising Cream. Now this is just an ordinary cheap drugstore moisturiser that works extra ordinary miracles on my skin. I find that it really hydrates my skin and doesn't leave my skin feeling sticky or tight. One thing I hate about moisturisers is when it leaves my skin feeling like really tight. Also I love the fact that there is no fragrance because I am super picky when it comes to the fragrances in beauty products.

So today I had just come out of the dentist and I was going into the Co-Op with my mum to buy a few things, when I saw this product on offer. Now in the Co-Op this product is normally £2.45 and in my opinion is very inexpensive. But today it was on offer for £1.22!!!! Because I was so excited I had found my favourite moisturiser on offer, I sneakily purchased the last two!

I use this product after using Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish and before applying my makeup. I would recommend this to everyone out there in particular young people as it is a really simple formula.

Please comment below and let me know what your favourite drugstore moisturiser is as I would be really interested to find out.

P.S. Just to let you know I am going away for a few day so I won't be able to post until at least Monday!!

Thick and Fast Review

Hey Peeps,

So today I thought I would share with you my all time favourite mascara. It is the Thick and fast mascara. It is a part of the Soap and Glory range which I love and today I thought I would give you an in-depth review of this product.

This is a jet black mascara which does a great job of thickening my eyelashes and making them look like I have false eyelashes on! The brush is incredibly fat and when I first used it I was shocked at how big the brush looked when it was close to my eyelashes :) This brush tapers towards the end which makes adding extra definition at the corners of my eyes really easy.

The great thing about this product is that it is inexpensive. It is only £10, which for a really good mascara is a very good price. Also in the UK Boots has it on a  2 for 3 offer, which is great if you want to buy a few for your friends.

However amazing the volume is, it is not the the PERFECT mascara but it does come close. When applying it doesn't give much length so I usually have to use a lengthening mascara either before or after. Also throughout the day sometime I find little flakes of mascara under my eyes, which ain't ideal but again it isn't the end of the world.

Overall this is a fab drugstore mascara and I would defiantly recommend this to people out their looking for a new mascara. For those who don't like in the UK you can also buy this product online from the Soap and Glory website.

One Direction are Amazing!!

Hey peeps,

So on Sunday I was lucky enough to be able to to see One Direction in Sheffield Arena. Where do I start. These boys know how to put on a good show! All they had to do was appear on stage and the whole arena erupted in cheers and screams, and that was before they had even begun to sing.

I got the one direction tickets as a Christmas present from my Uncle and Auntie and to be fair at Christmas the concert seemed ages away but I can't believe how quickly it came around!
We arrived at the Arena quite early and I was pleasantly surprised that we didn't have to queue for a long time. Once we were in the arena, My sister bought a program which cost £15 (£15 for a PROGRAM, yeah it is way too expensive) nevertheless it has lots of cute pictures about the boys and will be a  great souvenir.

We went to sit in our seat which were quite close to the stage. We were in Block A, Row 24. I was very pleased with our seats! I have to say I was shocked at the amount of children there that were under 7 years old. I mean a lot of them were toddlers. There was one little girl who was wearing a t-shirt that said "I Love You Niall". There were two warm up acts: Camryn and 5
Seconds of Summer. I didn't really like Camryn but was really impressed by 5 Seconds of Summer. They were so energetic and all of them were quite good looking. I think they are Australian but I am not sure :)

The concert started with a hilarious video that worked the crowd up to One Directions entrance.  The video was typical One Direction: Cheeky, Flirty and Funny. When 1D appeared on stage the whole arena shook with excitement and they began to sing Up All Night.

One of my favourite things about the whole show was the set. It had slopes and staggered levels as well as stairs that they could run up and down on. Also the backdrop was cleverly designed and it had images all to do with London and the UK.

Every girl loves a guy that knows how to play an instrument, so when Niall picked up his guitar and strummed along to the songs several times I think every girls heart fluttered. Before the Concert my sister and I created a poster to hold up at the concert. We bought an luminous yellow A2 piece of card that we were going to decorate. Just before the boys started to fly over our heads towards the second stage, they asked for anyone with a poster to hold it up. Obviously my sister and I held our poster up proudly and we were so ecstatic when Harry Styles gave a thumbs up to our poster! Yay!

Compared to other concerts that I have been to, this one seemed a lot more stripped back and personal. I really liked the way they interacted with the fans and in particular when they picked some tweets that people in the arena had tweeted and they were either questions or asking them to do something. They looked at 3 tweets: the first one was who could do the best Australian accent, the second was can you make a human pyramid and the final one was have a wheel barrow race. It was hilarious to watch the boys messing around and having fun with the crowd.

They mainly sang songs from their latest album however in the mix they did throw in some well loved oldies from their first album. Also they did a cover of a true oldie from back in 2000, Teenage Dirtbag by Wheatus. I have to say I loved the cartoons of One Direction that were on the backdrop. So cool!

Overall it was an incredible experience and if i got the chance I would defiantly go again! The only thing that let it down slightly was the fact that it took us 1 hour and a half to get out of the car park and go around the roundabout coming out of Sheffield arena. I know that is not 1D's fault but it was a little bit annoying. Anyway, I love these boys and look forward to more songs and concerts from them in the future!

P.S I am really sorry for the rubbish quality of the pictures, it was really hard to take any good pictures at the concert!

Beauty Tips I Live By

Hey peeps!!
Here is a really quick blog post for you today. I am going to talk about beauty tips that I live by:

1. Always remove makeup before going to sleep at night!
It is really bad for your skin if you go to bed still with a full face of makeup. First of all our skin needs to breath and if you have makeup on it doesn't allow it to do so. Also our body temperatures rise when we are asleep so the makeup you have been wearing all day slowly sinks into your pores making them clogged and then breakout (not good :!) Plus, I love the feeling of going to bed with a clean face and feeling refreshed!!

2. Don't wash your hair everyday.
I know a lot of people like to wash their hair everyday because they love the feel of nice soft, clean hair, but every time that you wash your hair you are getting rid of all the natural oils that your hair produces. so before you know it your hair will become dry and dull. So I wash my hair every 2-3 days so that my hair can keep producing natural oils.

3.Drink as much water as you can.
I know this sounds really cliche, but I can honestly tell you I love water because I know that it is so good for my skin and also for my health. You may have noticed but quite often if you see a picture of a celebrity out and about you can see that they are either drinking or carrying a bottle of water. This is because it is so good for!!

4. Luscious Lashes
Every girl loves her lashes to look big and full, but not all of us like to wear false lashes. So my advise for you is that is you want fuller lashes use a two different types of mascara. I use a lengthening mascara first and then go over it with a volumizing  mascara.

5. Tie your hair up.
Before you go to bed each night you should tie your hair up. This so that the grease from your hair wont transfer onto your forehead or face. Because if grease gets on your face then it can cause pimples.

6. Beauty Sleep
Again, I know this is cliche but a good nights sleep is so important. Firstly sleep is really good for your health . Lack of sleep can result in diabetes, weight gain and heart disease. Sleep also makes you feel better and can be the difference between having a great day and the worst day ever.

Comment below if you have any beauty tips that I have missed off!! Also comment if you have any requests of blogposts you would like me to do!!

Nail Of The Day

 Hey Guys,

Today I thought it would be fun if I did a Nail Of The Day (NOTD) post. In case you haven't guessed already I am a huge fan of nail polish. I know a lot of people don't like to sit and wait for their nails to dry, but I find it really relaxing sitting painting my nails and just enjoying the peace while they dry. My first blogpost was about the OPI Spring Collection Europa Centrale and these nail polishes that I have used in today's NOTD are from this collection.

Pink- Suzi's Hungary AGAIN!
Lilac- You're such a BudaPest

Benefit To Go Beauty Bestsellers Review

Last year for my birthday I received Benefit To Go Beauty Bestsellers as a gift. Recently I have found it amongst all my other makeup and thought I would give it a go seen as I had not really used it in the past. I have found that I absolutely love this product and I can't believe that I have not used it before!

This Set Contains:
08oz Posietint: A poppy-pink tinted lip & cheek stain
06oz Some Kind-A Gorgeous: The foundation faker
25oz That Gal: A brightening face primer
09oz High Beam- A luminescent complexion enhancer

Some Kind-A Gorgeous
This is the first time I have ever used a foundation/ face product from benefit and I have to say I am very pleased with it. I think the packaging is very user friendly and it is the perfect size for travelling or for in your handbag if you are out and about all day and need a small foundation product to top up your makeup. I think the design on the product is great because it reminds me of an old record and it also has that classy vintage feel to it. The "foundation faker" applies really well onto those parts of your face that need evening out. The great thing for me is that if i don't want to wear foundation I can wear this and it doesn't give as much coverage as a foundation but evens out my skin without me looking like I have foundation on.

That Gal
I love this silky pink primer because it makes my skin appear smoother and brighter. Even though this light- textured cream is pink, it doesn't leave any trace of colour on my skin which is good. The lotion-like feel of the primer makes it really easy to apply on your skin. I think the packaging on this bottle is really eye catching! I love packaging that is young, funky and colourful; so this packaging defiantly rocks my boat!

High Beam
I think this is by far the best highlighter I have ever tried. I like to use this on my cheekbones and under my eyebrows. The pink tone to this highlighter is really complementary on my skin because I have fair skin. One thing that really stands out as a positive for me is the fact that it is more of a pearly tone than a glittery one. I personally don't like glitter on my face so I feel let down when a product has glitter in it. To apply I dot the champagne shimmer in a line just above my cheekbone and then i rub it in a upwards rubbing motion. I love the fact that using High Beam makes my makeup look dewy and fresh!

Posietint
Posietint is adorable! I love just looking at this cute little bottle. I love blushers and I had huge expectations for this cheek tint seen as it is benefit. And I have to say it did live up to theses expectations. I don't really like using it as a lip tint because I feel like it drys my lips out, even though it gives my lips a gorgeous natural pink colour. I thought that the application of the product might be a bit streaky but I was pleasantly surprised when it applied evenly without streaking. Overall I love this product and I love the very pigmented colour that it gives!
